TownePlace Suites is one of those hotels that I like stay at. They are always clean, spacious, have free WiFi and parking, provides a free breakfast and is dog friendly. My husband and I stayed at this hotel with our little girl dog (one dog, up to 50 lbs, is allowed to stay per room and cost $75 per stay) for two nights. Our room had a kitchenette, which includes 2 stove burners, one full size fridge with freezer, dishwasher, microwave and of course a kitchen sink. We did utilize the stove and cooked most of our meals (please note that there is free breakfast provided at this hotel). There are pots and pans made available. There was only a set of 3 plates, bowls and glass cups and mugs. Inside the shower, there is shower gel, shampoo and conditioner on the wall, which I always appreciate. This hotel also has an indoor pool and gym on site. Checking into the hotel was fine. The employee who helped us friend friendly. And the same goes for when we checked out. We visited Mount Rushmore and also Theodore Roosevelt National Park while we stayed at this hotel. Overall, this was a nice hotel and would stay here again if visiting this area. read more

When we arrived I was not greeted and just asked to check-in. Staff was just a body, didn't care about us as guests. For a two bedroom suite, the rooms and shared space is small. I've had larger one bedroom suites. The rooms don't have extra blankets, I went to the front desk asking for some, and was told staff would bring them to our room, they never did. Poor and uninviting service is enough to not make me come again. read more

This TownePlace Suites was excellent, it far exceeded my expectations for a simple hotel in the area. I considered giving four stars since it isn't a "luxury" hotel, but honestly, the staff and the room were great, so here's a full five! My room was really nice -- so spacious, with all new fixtures in the bathroom and kitchenette. Comfortable beds, plenty of space to work, great lighting...the hotel feels brand new, they did a great job with this building. The fitness center was also well designed, with treadmills near the windows and a separate alcove for free weights. Parking my rental was never an issue with all the spaces both in front and around the back of the hotel. Location was nice, situated east of the Enchanted Highway and west of the Theodore Roosevelt National Park (South Unit). Great spot for a quality stay while sightseeing in this part of North Dakota! read more

We had a very spacious suite though I felt that there was a lot of wasted space in there, especially in the bathroom. The workout facility was just the right size and carried your basic equipment. TownePlace Suites is the only Marriott hotel in Dickinson. We used mobile check-in and bypassed the need to go to the front desk. When we entered, we discovered we had been upgraded to a two bedroom suite. It was more space than we needed. Additionally, there is a full kitchen, dining area, and separate living room. A major plus was the comfortable bed/ pillow. There is also free standard breakfast. I'm marking the hotel down a star because I felt some things could've been cleaner though. read more

Stop in at this Marriott property while traveling west to Montana. Site had a front door issue that was easily bypassed to gain entry. Staff upgraded us to a suite and helped with area restaurant recommendations. Bed was comfortable and room was large and clean. Recommend if you're in the area. read more

Wow! What a great hotel! For a family of 5 this hotel was a dream! Check in was flawless. The desk clerk was very nice and friendly. We had a 2 bedroom king suite. There were 2 bathrooms and a pullout bed in the living area. There was a kitchen area also stocked with plates and other dishes. Room was clean and comfy. Complimentary breakfast was delicious. They do allow pets with some stipulations so I saw some cute doggies too! It was also under $200 which is pretty amazing these days. Highly recommend this hotel if you are in the area. read more

This place was not bad. We had a nice large room with a living room separating the two bedrooms. I slept pretty good and breakfast was pretty good too. I had eggs with salt, pepper, hot sauce, and salsa. The check in person was kind and polite to us. The only concern was that there was a bunch of events going on around the city and when I heard everything was booked, that's when I knew there was a ton of people staying here. But overall, the hotel was not bad. I would recommend this hotel if you are staying in Dickinson. read more

The room was so clean and the beds comfortable! Their internet was down, which affected their key entries to rooms, but they were making it work and so accommodating! In the morning, we were running behind and missed breakfast hours by 20 minutes, but Tammy and Tonya were absolute gems to our hungry family. The furniture in the room was super dingy (stains and rips everywhere), and the kitchen drawers were full of crumbs and hair. The furniture was so disgusting that I felt uncomfortable sitting down. The room may or may not have been vacuumed between guests. Staff was nice. Due to covid, guests put their garbage outside of the room (where it sits and festers for 4-5 hours). The room next to ours put rotten meat in the hall and I almost threw up. read more

We used this location, though about 45 minutes away, as our base for visiting the two parts of Teddy Roosevelt National Park. It worked well given limited lodging choices closer to the park. Being Marriott Gold I was hoping to get an upgraded room but this is the second of three Marriott hotels on this trip without upgraded rooms. Hard to believe. The good news is that the rate here was very reasonable. This is in a quiet location a bit off of I-94. Given the full kitchens this place seems to get a lot of oil industry works. The mask wearing staff was very friendly including the gals providing the modified free breakfast. The breakfast set-up was a good compromise. The rooms were nice. Not sure if it was a difference in signage or just the clientele we were happy to see much more mask wearing by the patrons than we did in South Dakota... read more

The staff made the stay get 5 stars. They were incredibly friendly, professional and helpful. Jenny and Kitty (as well as everyone else) went out of their way to make us feel comfortable. Yea the jacuzzi didn't work, and an elevator was down but the place was kept clean. They had board games to borrow and other kitchen stuff available to request. Quite possibly the worst Marriott property we have ever stayed at, in over 30 years. Tiny room, lumpy mattress, visible heavy dust on bathroom fan made us wonder: what else isn't truly clean? (During pandemic, this was especially concerning). Toilet roll holder so close to seat, tissue actually touches bowl (?). Unless you are toddler sized, the roll holder gouges into your flank while you use the toilet. Front desk clerk was on a smoke break when we left, so entry was unattended. Totally uncomfortable, and would not recommend on any level. read more

We chose this hotel because it is a Marriott property and we expected the room to be clean and sanitized per the hotel's website info. What we experienced was the total opposite. The evening we checked in we found several soiled towels in a cabinet under one of the sinks. While they were promptly removed by the staff, we were all questioning HOW THAT COULD HAPPEN with all the concern about COVID19! When we were checking out two days later, opening all the drawers in dressers and nightstands to sure we didn't leave anything, we discovered NINE (YES 9!) empty beer cans in one of the drawers! How could the staff miss these two issues? How could hotel management allow the possible exposure to a deadly virus? On a positive note, the beds were very, very comfortable and the staff we interacted with were superb! That being said, due to the two issues mentioned above, we do not plan on staying at another Marriott property in the foreseeable future. read more

Very disappointing for a Marriott. They didn't have enough parking for the number of rooms. My door was missing the strike plate for the latch so it could be pushed almost open. There was a huge crack across the tiles in the shower. The shower curtain had mold on it and there was hair in the shower that wasn't from me... The kitchenette was nice and the coffee was good, but that's about it. I expected way more from a Marriott. read more

Spent Saturday night there. The man at the front desk was friendly, but, looked like he just came back from deer hunting. After returning from dinner there was a young women sitting outside talking with another employee. On the table was a pile of clothing. The next morning upon coming down for breakfast,the same young women was hanging around the breakfast area. It appeared she had spent the night just hanging out at the hotel lobby and outside. Upon walking to our car, she asked if we could give her a ride to Fargo. We declined. Also, the room was not very clean. It looked like no one ever cleaned the base boards. There was dirt and trash behind the bed and night stand. There was trash and dirt under the chair cushion. Gross. I don't recommend this hotel. read more

I always stay at Marriotts and I've stayed at quite a few. This one was clean and the staff was amazing. All smiles and so helpful. The breakfast lady gave free books to kids. She catered to everyone at breakfast, and, yes, it was busy. The kids loved the pool, and it even goes to 5.5ft. The workout room was spacious. It had all the things you'd need. I was quite impressed and will definitely stay here again. The only negative was our shower handle was stiff to turn but the shower was amazing. Great water pressure and plenty of towels. Hotel is close to Walmart so that's convenient if you forgot something. Overall, great hotel! read more

No masks on any staff or guests. Social distancing is nonexistent. We though Marriott would take reasonable measures, but this location doesn't appear to comply with any of the COVID safety on their website. Update: upgraded to three stars. the morning staff was all masked and super nice. Especially the breakfast lady. I don't know why the evening checking staff didn't follow the same guidelines. We have a large family, so we need a little extra room when we travel. The two room suite was perfect for us. The room was clean and the staff was amazing. We were in North Dakota to visit Theodore Roosevelt National Park. Dickinson was a great place to stay for us. Tammy, the breakfast attendant, was amazing. We travel a lot and our platinum Marriott members. This is one of the best hotels we've stayed at. We got in around 7:30 last night after a long drive from Custer and an afternoon at Theodore Roosevelt National Park (TRNP) - about 35 min away - all afternoon. We just wanted a night in to order pizza, shower and bathe the kids and get a good night sleep. The woman at check-in was very personable and helpful and gave us an available upgrade to a suite with two king bedrooms. It was perfect! Clean, modern, spacious, full kitchen, dining table, living room, 2 full baths; all we needed to fully recharge the whole family. We even got a few loads of laundry done in the great laundry room (4 washers and 6 dryers). Exercise room had a big area with different size yoga balls for stretching and lots of machines and equipment; certainly more than your average pass-through hotel. The room was very comfortable as were the beds and plentiful pillows. We'd spent the last three nights at the famous and historic State Game Lodge in Custer State Park, and it was nearly three times the price and service was horrible (the park itself was fantastic though!). Prices could have been swapped and made more sense. The value here was through the roof, and just what we needed to get our vacation back on trip. This morning we had a full breakfast with yogurt, fruit, bagels, oatmeal, waffles, eggs, sausage, juice, and more available for the pickiest of eaters. Two women kept the area constantly clean and well-stoked and they could not have been friendlier. One of them let my 7 & 3-year-olds each pick a free book out of a bag to occupy them and let them take with for another long day in the car. The same woman who checked us in helped check us out. While we aren't in the area much, we do hope to come back and spend more time at TRNP, and while it's not super close, it's close enough that we would definitely do the short drive to stay at this hotel again. My kids wanted to move in!! Thank you all so much for a refreshing night that was well-needed on this fun but LONG family roadtrip!! We upgraded to a two bedroom suite. Best decision ever. The suite was large, with two bedrooms with king beds and two full baths. The hot tub was huge! Breakfast was nice and the woman taking care of the breakfast was friendly and helpful, offering suggestions on where to go and what to see. read more

Would have gave this hotel a much better review but the two girls that were at the front desk didn't care at all about us when we came in and only cared about talking with each other. My wife and I stood in front of them for over ten minutes until they finally stopped their conversation and helped us. Fantastic hotel for a cross country stop after white knuckle driving through Montana. Tammy was so kind during breakfast to make us waffles and help us wrap up our leftover pizza from the night before so it fit in our cooler. Beds were very comfortable and staff was beyond friendly. We stayed here a few months back( have been debating posting a review or not), and I had found SEVERAL blood spots on the mattress cover, and hairs on the sheets. The bathroom was Filthy, it overall was a stressful stay. I was very disappointed in the customer service as well. I ran downstairs and addressed my concerns, I explained I was a housekeeper who knew what blood spots meant and I wasn't comfortable sleeping there with my baby and husband for the night. The worker told me basically, she can give me new sheets and that's all she could do for me. I don't remember her name as it has been months but thsi was our stay on November 17th of 2018. I was Extremely disappointed with the customer service and quality of our stay. They didn't offer to switch us rooms, they said they'd let the manager know , but I'm sure they never did. We should have left and demanded a refund, but we were extremely exhausted and I couldn't do thst to my family as we arrived late ( we let them know) due to moving with the military. Wow. This is hands down the best hotel I've stayed in on this trip. Customer service is spectacular! Rooms are spacious and CLEAN! There's a large fridge and burner in the rooms too. We used the fridge for food we were traveling with which is nice. Beds are very comfortable. It's a little off of the beaten path but that's good because it's quiet with no road noise!
