It comes with Chicken Fried Rice, Wonton Soup and Two Vegetable Spring Rolls. Plus a choice of two entrees. We chose Kung Pao Chicken and Beef with snow peas. Everything was very flavourful but a word of caution; The Kung Pao Chicken was super spicy...my mouth was on fire and I love spicy food. I ordered twice using Skip the dishes and both times, left 20 percent tip. I knew they offered a dinner for two that included won ton soup, refried rice and two spring rolls, as well as two choices of main dishes, but the first time I ordered there, I decided to just add a small rice and 4 spring rolls to my order. Anyway I noticed two things about the food. In two chicken dishes we ordered, kung pow chicken and cashew chicken, the veggies were pretty heavy of the celery with a few carrots, snow peas and mini corn thrown in for colour. The other thing I appreciated was that it wasn't heavy on msg. I had no noticeable mouth feel or headache after eating it. Frankly, this is one reason I generally avoid Chinese restaurants. We stuffed our faces and had enough for another meal after our a la carte order, and possibly enough for two more meals after eating "dinner for two". So all things considered, the dinner for two was better value, even though it offered 2 fewer spring rolls and it was in total about $4.00 more with skip the dishes charges and driver tip. It came to $60.87 whereas the a la carte order came to $56.98. read more

Looking for a quick bite to eat on Sunday evening and popped in here with a friend- it didn't seem cheap when we ordered- Kung Pao chicken and Ma Po Bean Curd (known in some restaurants as Ma Po tofu.). Then our food arrived. They were huge plates of deliciousness. We gobbled them up like starving people. My mouth waters even now at the thought. Warning: closed Wednesdays. Sorry no pictures- the food was gone before I thought of it. Next time I go I might try something else, but I will definitely be back for my now-two favourites. Salad rolls are quite big and come with sauce, but are pretty low on shrimp. Next time I go I will try ordering the dinner for two. read more

After 6 days of being housebound and miserable, my sick spouse decided he needed some comforting in the form of western-style chinese food. Harvest Chinese is the latest iteration of the chinese resto in an old strip mall at the corner of 75 St and 90 Ave in the Ottewell neighbourhood. This spot has hosted 3 differently named chinese restos in probably as many years, which worried me, but it's slim pickings for non-western food in this part of E-town, so Harvest Chinese it was. Of course no horrible Yelp reviews helps too! My guy was happy with the food, but I thought it was pretty average. Not quite as advertised (mixed veg used instead of greens, white mushrooms used instead of chinese mushrooms) and a bit pricey for what you get in terms of meat quantity. Taste was overall passible, slightly better than your average western-chinese, and the veg was fresh and the sauces not too heavy or gloopy with corn starch or MSG. Not the best, but good for caucasians looking for the comfort of the chinese food of their youth. All that was missing was horoscope placemats and tropical drink umbrellas. And maybe a koi pond. read more

Harvest Chinese is located in a small strip mall. It may look like a bad restaurant but do not be fooled. I ordered 3 dishes, mixed vegetable, Singapore noodles, and the veggie fried rice. Everything looked fresh and tasted amazing. Best part you know they make it to serve because I ordered without eggs. The prices are reasonable, the taste is good and portions are amazing. I ordered from Harvest on Friday and it was sublime. I ordered from Harvest on the following Tuesday because my experience was so delicious. Unfortunately, my latest experience was nothing like my previous one. I ordered the spicy fish and garlic prawns on both occasions and my last experience was as if my order came from an entirely different restaurant. The spicy fish and garlic prawns were nothing like the deliciousness that I had experienced earlier. This time, i ordered 4 dishes and they all came with the same flavourless brownish, greasy sauce. I was so disappointed. And mad. The dishes are almost inedible. Such a contrast from my previous experience wth Harvest. I hope the Tuesday cook gets retired. read more

Only tried this as take out. Send my husband in modern hunter gatherer style bring back Chinese food for the family asap. We found this place on Yelp, nearby and good reviews = must try. We opted for the meal for two which included won ton soup, two spring rolls, chicken fried rice and two dishes of your choice. The won ton soup was especially good, really tasty broth and chunky veg too. We got chicken balls with sweet and sour sauce. Not usually my thing but I really enjoyed the sauce for this dish. The taste was good, nothing fancy but good food. The meal was very deep fried and I tend to shy away from so much deep fried but today it hit the spot. This is the 3rd time we have tried take out and a variety of dishes. We can't complain about size or portion. The dishes are tastee and sauces are fairly thick and not like alot of other restaurants that are very watery/runny ie. Shrimp in vegetables and black bean sauce is excellent, another is the lemon chicken, another with great sauce. The prices are reasonable and within the city average. The prep time and delivery are very reasonable, tip the driver, it's worth his effort and yours. The even deliver to Mapleridge/Oakridge in the SE. I highly recommend this place and will be sure to order again the the future, this time give the spicy dishes abit of a test. read more

I can't speak to the quality of the food as I never received it. Employee told me over the phone it was a 50 minute wait. Arrived on time to find out it wasn't ready. I waited another 20 minutes and finally was able to get the attention of the server to find out it "was almost ready". Poor experience overall. read more

Looking for a new place for Chinese food as nothing we've had in Millwoods has been completely satisfying. Tried this one on a whim and was happily surprised. Food was fresh, prices were good and everything was really tasty. I am still on a hunt for crushed almond chicken that has actual breading, not batter, theirs is the battered version but the flavour was very good. My family found the dishes a bit too salty, but everything was great other than that. Their dinner for 4, 4 entrees plus soup, spring rolls and fried rice, was the same price as other places for 4 entrees alone. Ordered delivery. Meal portions except soup were fine (Chicken cashew, szechuan beef, special chow mein, stir fry vegetables). The wor wonton was a bland disappointment more than anything, for $13 it was 10 wontons, 2 small pieces of broccoli and a piece of bbq pork, it would've been alright had it been flavourful, but it was just bland. Plenty of vegetables in the special chow mein, but everything we ordered chicken cashew, Szechuan beef, wor wonton soup, stir fry vegetables, special chow mein) tasted the same. The szechuan beef was goopy and bland. Will not be ordering from here again. read more

Terrible service. Ordered online and after 1.5 hrs called. They claimed that the food had just left. Got it 1/2 hr later even though we live 5 mins driving distance from there. Food was just okay. They got the noodles wrong, green onion cake came with sweet sauce not hot sauce. Green onion cake was also the frozen kind most restaurants cutting corners is selling.
