Was really good food, with the meal for two we had leftovers for a few days, honestly could feed 3-4 people

Bangkok is a hidden AYCE hotpot off Kingsway. (Truly, if we didn't know to look for it, I'd never…read moreknow it was there. It's tucked away on a side road surrounded by residential streets!) But there it was, this bright green little gem. It's not as modern as other places, but the food was fresh and topped up on the buffet + even though not as big as others, there were still a few items I hadn't seen anywhere else. Their broth was good too - we tried the satay & tom yum and both were flavourful. They've been open under the same management for 11+ years! Covid has been tough - they closed completely when dine in was shut down and are just starting to rebuild business (I don't think they do take out but I'm not 100%). It was completely dead when we were there, minus one other table - and they still kept filling the food with fresh items. They kind of fall under the radar, maybe because they're not as flashy as other places? But they are yummy with super nice people - if you're considering hotpot, it's worth checking out! A few things to note: it's one of the cheaper AYCE hotpots in the city (I think it was $26 + $2 for broth - other places are $35-40). AYCE only. No late night or lunch special, the price is the price all day. Cash or debit only.

In the sauce department the xo and peanut butter sauce is amazing and the chopped chillies in a vinegar like sauce is soo delicious and brings such great flavour to anything that accompanies it. I absolutely love it here, it really has a nice welcoming environment and the manager is very nice as well. I always look forward to my next visit.

The Beijing House Buufet, located on Edmonton's St. Albert Trail, is a favourite amongst locals…read more Beijing House is primarily a buffet, but you also have the opportunity to order single items from the menu, but meal deals are also available for two, three, four, six and eight people. These are are a great option if you don't want to take from the buffet. But I would like to add that the buffet is very complete, always fresh and full. The meal we took is the deal for two, which included two spring rolls, two wonton soups and chicken fried rice, plus two other entrees (in this case, we ordered lemon chicken, and the beef and broccoli). Food that is served at Beijing House is very complete: soups and appetizers, chicken, beef, seafood, pork, vegetable and chop suey, rice, noodles, chow mein, and egg foo yong. The restaurant has very nice decoration, which is typically Asian. The place is great for lunch and dinner, and whether you are by yourself, small group or having a party gathering. Finally, Beijing House is a great place to dine, where good food is served and quick professional service.

Not much for service here, they take your drink order come around fill up your pop or water, come back when you're ready to pay.. service is ok,, not to high of recommendation there. Kinda reminds me of cafeteria style buffet. Nothing fancy but the food is tasty and a good selection

Flies in the cool/cold food area buffet :-( Some items were okay and others were the worst I have had :-( specifically the wontons tastes like dish water broth. The beef in the beef and broccoli had a texture unlike anything I've had before although the broccoli was juicy and crisp! I also would not recommend the hot and sour soup which had so much gelatin in it and was hard to scoop. The spicy chicken was okay and both the rice and noodles were a hit with my kiddos. The stir fried veggies and fried mushroom were pretty good. The pork skewers were probably my favorite. The spring rolls were disappointing filled with mostly noodles. Our plates were slow to be cleared and my water wasn't refilled. I wish I could say it looked like an off night and we would try again but given the dirty walls behind the buffet and filthy window blinds, I'm afraid we just won't be giving this one a try again.

With my Player's Club card, I get coupons including a 2 for 1 Buffet one, which makes it $20 for dinner for 2 which is a pretty good value. The breakfast and lunch prices are $10 and $15 respectively. There have theme nights, Tuesday is Mediterranean, Wednesday is Indian, and Thursday is Asian. You pay when you arrive so you can't check our the fare first. They also ask for a tip but we didn't tip at that time as we didn't receive any service yet! We went on a Tuesday and the upper seating area was about half full. They also have seating in lower area accessible by stairs but they closed off that section while we were there. The booths are roomy and comfortable. The buffet itself is small. There are 3 rows with the first having 2 soups, 5 different salads but were on small plates, rolls, and condiments and cutlery. The middle row had the hot foods and that night it included rice, roast potatoes, green beans, other vegetables, beef souvlaki, roast chicken, pita and various dips including hummus, gravy, spanikopita, and a person there to cut you slices of roast lamb. The third row had an ice cream machine and toppings, fresh cantaloupe and honeydew melon, pre made mini cupcakes, a few different squares, baklava, and a peach crumble. They also have self serve coffee, tea, hot chocolate, and one of those soda machines that you select many different kinds of flavoured pop. The lamb was the star of the show, it was tender and not too gamy tasting. The beef was dry and hard and chicken was cooked well but not very flavourful. Couldn't really go wrong with the green beans, spanikopita, and potatoes. For dessert, the peach dessert was so bad I had to spit it all out as the peaches were so sour as they were the canned type. I went back for a piece of baklava and it was stuck on the plate. I wiggled a piece free and since it was so big, I wasn't able to finish it. It was pretty cold as they probably took it out of the freezer a few hours earlier but still good. The service to start with was awful and based on that, I would have given this 2 stars. There was a woman walking around and taking away plates and acknowledging other tables but not ours. When I did have a dirty plate, she removed it but not the cup. The woman who came by after her was nice and efficient. The first woman was terrible and I don't see her lasting long. The food was just alright and the price good with the 2 for 1 coupon.
