Lobster ravioli
Steven H.

First time and at restaurant in Canada and I love oysters so I came here! Dozen for $12 5-7pm. Limit one dozen for that price. They were delicious and perfectly shucked. I had two dozen and could've had more! Ordered the martini with caviar on top, that was delicious. Lobster ravioli with jumbo shrimp on top too. Lastly a local bottled fruity beer. Pricy but worth it all! Server was super nice. Nice simple off the alley restaurant with bomb food.

The oysters were good but other than that we were really disappointed with the food. We got the seafood platter as well as grilled octopus and both were really underwhelming. I had so much hope for this place but I guess we'll stick to getting seafood when we're visiting the coast.

Came here for a birthday party... We brought a cake, was charged $25 cake fee. No free dessert either. We ordered the $200 hot seafood tower ( it doesn't even look like a tower), oysters, salads, and drinks. Overall the drinks were very good. The lobster tower was very disappointing and tasteless. It has no flavor aside from the butter they serve with it. I wouldn't recommend this place or come back. For the price we paid, we all could've gotten steak dinners each. Oh and 1 bottled of sparkling water cost us $14. Lol. Just so ridiculous.

I was craving oysters and looked online to see what the options were. I came upon their buck a shuck special and decided to give it a go. There is a limit of 12 per a person. The oysters were delicious, I wish I could have gotten more! their pasta's are decent and have a large option of seafood to choose from. The drinks were quite good as well. Overall, no complaints. The manager even stopped by tables to make sure that everything was running smoothly throughout the restaurant. The restaurant itself is decorated like the "Black Pearl" a ship with a lot of sea that is dimly lit in the evening. There are a lot of ship accents hung on the wall. Its an intimate setting and likely would require reservations on a busy day.

I rarely give 5 stars, so here goes yo. I was in Edmonton on business and walked by Black Pearl and saw the $1 oysters. Hell yes. Upon entering the establishment I noticed the hip and fun environment, decor and bottle selection. I went all out and ordered an entre as well as a dozen oysters. And some local craft beers. Great solo experience and fine service. Highly recommended.

This place does not disappoint!!! Everything is Delicious! Prepared and cooked to perfection! Quickly Becoming my favourite gem in Edmonton!! The service is fantastic! Reasonably priced in

Food and service was excellent. Lighting was good and music was at a good level. Would definitely recommend.

Really great place when you have a seafood craving. Everything seems really fresh. Great flavours and nice presentation. The decor is really cool...old ship style feel inside. Friendly, helpful staff. Prices definitely a bit on the higher end, however. Nevertheless, I will definitely visit again.

We came here for the buck a shuck special that they have from 5-7pm on weekends. I LOVE oysters and for a buck even better! This was my first time coming to Black Pearl and even though we were not able to sit indoors due to restrictions, the patio was bumping and lots of people watching was able to happen. They have a good amount of outdoor tables and heaters galore. It was super windy that day but we braved the elements to support local. The manager seated us and we got there right at 5:00 because we didn't want to take any chances of not getting any seats. He was super friendly and appreciative of us. He told us about the specials and then our server came to help. She was also very friendly and suggested a very delicious shot! We wanted something to warm us up but still tasty. I can't remember the name of the shot but it was great! We also ordered a sangria cocktail which was delicious and had a cool smoky flavour because it came with a cinnamon stick that was set on fire and smoking :) love the creativity. Their wine list was extensive as well. They oysters themselves were quite fresh! They were a bit smaller than some other oysters we've had but for a buck I'd say it was worth it. They oysters come in an impressive tray filled with ice and some syringes that you use to squirt your oysters with either pickle juice (which was surprisingly delicious!), red vinegar, and hot sauce. There was also some shaved fresh horseradish and lemon. All the essentials and more! Overall the experience was as great as it can be considering all current restrictions. I would definitely come back for some more oysters and try a yummy wine next time.

This was right before we went into lockdown once again lol

This is a really great choice for those who enjoy oysters, king crab, lobster, the whole shebang. Black pearl served high quality seafood and that is quite hard to find in this city. Restaurant is quite small, however, I prefer it that way because it gives a very intimate feel which is perfect for date nights. I know in the summer they have their patio opened up which is very nice. I'd recommend making reservations to secure your spot! Oh and you must try the risotto! It's so creamy, and delightful.

The ambiance and atmosphere are very warm and inviting and I can say the same about the service. Our server was helpful, friendly and informative. I ordered the beef souvlaki lunch plate which came with rice and salad as well as a choice of garlic sauce, tzatziki, or tahini. We were also offered some homemade hot sauce as well. The food tasted really good and my colleagues enjoyed theirs as well. I'd like to visit again to try more of their menu. They have plenty of dishes that would be good for sharing as well.

It is really cute inside full of trinkets from Egypt that make you feel like you are in a baazar. The owner is super friendly and helpful. Really loved the customer service. We decided on a few dishes to try. We decided on the Chef's Platter that serves 2-3 although unless you have an appetite of a lumberjack, it will feed more. It comes with - Salad, Hawawshi (flatbread filled with meat), kushari (Egypt's national dish consisting of lentils and macaroni), baba Ganooj, Musakka as well as a bunch of skewers. Chicken, beef, kabab skewers, lamb shank and rice. We also ordered Egyptian tea which was delightful. Food took a while to come out. However it was all good except the lamb shank was on the dry side which was disappointing. I really enjoyed the salad and the baba ganooj. My husband enjoyed the meat dishes. However we both loved the Hawawshi. Give it a try!

The seats are comfortable and it can get a little tight for space if others are seated at tables around you. After we ordered, the food didn't take long to arrive at the table and there wasn't long gaps in between the 10 dishes. The presentation of the food was ok, and some of the dishes didn't look as appetizing as at other restaurants. The taste of the food was alright with some dishes not having enough flavour. One dish had boneless chicken, and they didn't cut it very well and it was more like 3 pieces. The bird's nest was dark and it looked like the oil wasn't changed recently. The shrimp in the shrimp with peaches dish were small and deep fried. The service throughout the meal was good with drinks refilled. They also offered dessert at the end of the meal. There are a few things that stood out about the restaurant. The emergency exit is a door that is all covered up with paper and there are chairs right against the door. Not sure if there's an emergency, people could get out using that door. In the women's washroom, the larger stall had a hole in the ceiling with a ladder coming down from it. On the floor there were boxes of empty beer bottles. I guess they are short of storage space but not sure about the hole and ladder? I didn't use that stall for fear someone might drop in! Not my favourite Chinese food restaurant but it wasn't terrible either. Won't be back anytime soon.

Really good Pork-Chop also I love the beef brisket that they make so fantastically goodread more

We had the duck with risotto, truffle fries, pan seared salmon, and the homemade mac & cheese with chicken breast. All were excellent. Our server recommended a couples drink combo which consisted of the following: For him - Maple Old Fashioned: Bearface Triple Oak Canadian whisky, maple syrup, and Angostura bitters. For her - A savory-sweet mix of Ojo de Tigre Mezcal, passion fruit liqueur, blood orange syrup, lime juice, and a black salt rim. It was awesome. The hotel had an amazing gym facility and pool. I easily spent two hours in the gym as there was a variety of activities. Also, the decor was absolutely divine. We got seated at our table and then we waited...and waited...and waited... So the manager came by and asked us if we need anything and I replied, "Yeah a server." Apparently there was a mix up with communication and whose table was whose. It is gorgeous inside. Very sexy. Plush benches, silver tones, and blue lights. This would be a great place to be seen after a hockey game or something. Finally with our fixed menu in hand and some water. The manager asked us if we would like the wine paring for no extra charge. What a fabulous gift! We started out with the black truffle and brie aranchini. This is super rich and flavourful. Great texture on the outside and creamy goodness on the inside. My husband and I got one of each of the salads - Wedge and Ceasar. The portions were massive, so I am glad I got the wedge. I could pack it up and it was fresh and crisp the next day. Dressings on both of them were excellent I got the black sesame ahi tuna and my husband got the petite filet. Both were excellent but if I wanted to finish dessert I would have to get this packed for home. Finaly onto dessert my husband got the chocolate peanut butter bar, while I went with the strawberry pavlova. Both were fine, but the peanut butter bar was super rich. The wine pairings were excellent. Great place, even better when you have a super deal.

It was a bit too much for me, but we can't all like the same things. I think the staff might have recommended we not order two mashed potatoes, but otherwise service was sufficient and relatively attentive. Attention was given to my gf dietary needs, but no attempt at a gluten free bread was made, as has been done a similar high end establishments. Our waitress nearly gave our meal to another table, but fortunately was intercepted by another server. We arrived at 5:30 and got our meals at about 7:00. The ambiance was reminiscent of a high end pizza place- large marble topped tables to shout across. My lamb was a bit under done, but that was okay since I had allowed for that. I've had better lamb in my own home, but I admit I'm not a fan of char as the main flavour. It was very attractively plated and I liked most of the vegetables that shared the plate, excepting perhaps, one or two pieces of bitter greens. My two companions enjoyed their meals, both having ordered filet. The three of us wound up spending about $300.00, tip included.
