We had such a fun night at Harvest House! The atmosphere is fantastic, with a great outdoor space, live entertainment, and such a fun, welcoming energy. We really enjoyed ourselves and loved seeing how lively the place was. The staff was friendly, the service was great, and it was just an all-around fun night out. We are excited to see what's ahead for Harvest House under its new ownership and will definitely be back. There was a time when I would have recommended this business. They recently came under new management and got rid of their pool tables and THC infused drinks, started closing early, and increased their prices. If you like what they used to offer: late nights, queer patrons, and cheap-ish beer, then Harvest House is no longer the bar for you. I used to recommend Harvest House, but now I recommend Bearded Monk, Tom's Toms Daiquiri Place, or Miss Angeline's. Lots of options others than this now! read more

Dibs and I had good bbq for lunch and thought we'd just have a light dinner so we ended up here while looking for a brewery. We sat outside and ordered food from The Pickled Carrot. We shared a Philly Cheesesteak and an order of egg rolls (3). The sandwich was huge so it was more than enough for 2 and it also came with a choice of chips. The Philly Cheesesteak was very good, easily one of the best we've ever had!! The dreamsicle cocktail has such a unique, sweet taste that's so delicious! The inside is also very spacious and nicely decorated. The drinks were a bit pricey compared to nearby spots, but nothing outrageous especially since they were so good. Definitely worth it! read more

I've always liked this location to grab a drink with friends outside of Fry, less drunk college kids and generally more welcoming than the other run of the mill bars in the area. However, I've come to not love the place with the newer staff. Went by a week or so ago and a brunette woman, who I believe was a manager or shift lead, was incredibly unkind. The service is terrible, drinks are overpriced for being made poorly, and the bartender didn't speak to any of the customers. The other one I spoke to also seemed to hate their job, a redhead who for some reason kept empathizing how broke she was(?) More than anything, it really seems like it's some teenagers trying to run a bar. I always tip reasonably no matter what, but this is a crew where I can understand the dissatisfied customers that lowball. Hopefully there will be some turnover or some management involvement soon so I can actually show up again and enjoy it! Never before have I seen it such a mess and I've been here for almost 6 years now. Will not be planning any events or meetups for the foreseeable future. Better bet is Eastside or the other bars on the square if you want to be treated like a human or even spoken to. read more

Great place for a date night! My wife and I stopped in a few weeks ago to celebrate our anniversary and had the best evening we could have asked for. The staff was super friendly and the service was top notch. The food was simply amazing. I haven't had paella that delicious since our vacation in Barcelona. Good live music venue. Need quarters to rent pool table, darts were easy to get (just need an ID as collateral). Does not allow dogs in outdoor seating when "live music" is playing. Tonight the "live music" was a DJ playing prerecorded songs. There is a section very far from the stage, so I don't understand why this was an issue. Drinks here are pretty solid, I got the midnight sun (cocktail) and the mango jungle (beer), and a couple other drinks I can't think of the names. Mango jungle was probably one of the best beers I've ever had, this will definitely be a staple every time I come back. Ambiance was nice, it's a nice rustic environment which isn't too surprising because of the location. Highly recommend. Love this little place. Reminds me so much of home (Austin). They have a lot of beer but they do have a bar as well and have some of my faves (Deep Eddy- varied, St. Germane, and Hendricks Gin....). Bartenders can make really anything that you can think of and can make some suggestions. Outside of beer they have a small cocktail menu but the bartenders are great so don't sweat it. We especially love their handmade juices. I always get Totem (Beet/carrot/apple) juice with lemon vodka so that I get extra veggies in my day. If you are not a beet fan they have other juices with pair well with vodka or just go with vodka soda! Their outside area is so cute. Lots of little vignettes to tuck away into. Outside offers an area for a live band, very large groups, small romantic spaces or whatever floats your boat. If you get hungry they do have food trucks or walk a block and grab a snack! read more

We came here for a New Belgium Brewing private event and had the carpe blanche experience. The check in at the front was quick and easy. The space was huge and while most of it is outdoors, there was a decent amount of seating indoors. There is a large, long bar inside and also one outside that wasn't open on this evening. Also outside, were some pool tables and a stage where a DJ was playing a set. Part of the outdoor area is under cover and there are both large and small tables, and lounge type seating. There is also corn hole and other lawn games. The staff was great and the bathrooms clean. We parked in their lot next door and it was no problem. The seating was not comfortable near the stage, picnic tables are not the best for anyone to listen to music. Great beer selection... Poor service, poor atmosphere. Force you to use a digital menu, which isn't a big deal, except there's no prices on it... Which is an important thing when you're dealing with craft beer that can vary wildly in price. Then they force you to sit outside... Surrounded by smokers. Distancing between tables means nothing when big clouds of cigarette smoke is blowing at you... Beyond nasty that they allow cigarettes in 2021... Then they make a huge stink about forcing you to wear masks when you aren't near anyone... I feel their priorities are not in order. After being told that I can't be served at the bar and had to be at a table... I was ignored for almost 5 minutes while waiting on someone to acknowledge my presence. Between the forced isolation, cigarettes, and slow service, I will not be coming back to this former staple of mine. read more

I really enjoyed this place. The setup inside and out are both superb. It's very clean everywhere, even the restrooms are very spotless. It was really hot, so we stayed inside, but the outdoor area has a lot of charm, and a pretty enormous outdoor stage for live music. They have a ton of great beers on tap to choose from, plenty of variety. I've been to a lot of taprooms recently and I have always preferred the ones that offer a few different sizes.. sample sizes, half pours, etc. They don't. When I'm at these places, I'm often branching out. I realize most places will give you small samples but I would happily pay $2 for an ounce or two of many different beers in order to have the most variety and not commit to a pint of something I've never tried before. The staff seemed knowledgeable and friendly. I wish I could transplant this place closer to home so I could be a regular. I don't get to Denton much unfortunately. Ok, this place makes me miss Denton like crazy!!! Where was this uber cool place when I was in college here??? I'm embarrassed to admit where we had to hang out.... Seriously, this place is incredible. Located on the lot next to Weldon's...which I think used to be an empty lot, it looks like a beacon for fun times. The whole area around Hickory Street has been transformed over recent years and is a Mecca for where all the cool people go for food, drinks and music. Harvest House has the best outside seating. They have fire pits with comfy seating that invite you to sit a bit and stay. They have a covered pavilion that's heated in the winter. I'm always freezing (by product of living in the desert for years) and I was as toasty as could be!! I was told the live music will start back up in about a month. I can only imagine sitting back there seeing the lights of the Square, enjoying a unique beverage and listening to some Denton grooves. They have a full bar, awesome, creative twists on cocktails and a great local beer selection. They also have a coffee bar with fresh juices. No need to drive all the way to Dallas anymore my friends, this place is legit!! Can't wait to come back!! read more

This place is so Denton and very awesome. Many beers to choose from, house made juices (and ice cubes from the same juice!), kombucha on tap, and coffee. They also make specialty drinks on some occasions. It's nice to be able to go somewhere to drink with friends, even if you aren't in the mood for alcohol. Beautiful decor inside and out. Indoor seating, and a huge outdoor seating with tables and chairs, picnic tables, couches. Great place to bring your dogs and sit outside for a drink. They have a taco truck outside that has amazing sweet potato quinoa tacos. I was very impressed! It's true, as some reviewers have noted, that it sometimes takes patience to get your drinks made or your beer poured. But this is Little D and we move at our own speed. Show some patience, friend. It's also true that dogs have to leave at 8:00 p.m., when the bar tends to get louder and more crowded. Another great place in Denton. They have a huge patio with live music. The have a ton of beer choices (possibly too many choices) and the staff knows a lot about each selection. The staff is great and always ready to make a recommendation. One of the few places to get kombucha on tap. Love kombucha. They also have fresh juices.
