This is another one of those unexpected Yelp finds for us -- needed a lunch stop, and this spot more than exceeded expectations and provided a great respite in the middle of a road trip. Both savory (chicken pesto, turkey) and sweet (brown sugar) crêpes were delicious, with the turkey coming out slightly ahead due to a nice, smoky flavor. We were traveling between Grapevine and Junction, Texas on Thanksgiving Eve and stopped in Comanche to get some bottled water and walk around a bit. We stopped in Harvest Creperie. What a truly delightful discovery this turned out to be. We ended up eating dinner, ordering the Chicken Pesto crepe and the Reuben crepe. They also feature Texas wines, and the glass of sauvignon blanc I ordered was quite good. The restaurant itself is lovely, the owner was gracious, and the food was delicious! So, it has amazing food, but I'm not digging the counter service. I guess when you see a nice restaurant you expect table service. However, I'm sure it's hard to get enough help to make that happen. I had a savory crepe that was pretty good...it had chicken in it. I can't honestly remember the details, as it was not the feature. The absolute show stopper was the lemon crepe... holy guacamole...that was delicious. Both the sweet and savory crepes had perfectly thin layers and were made by someone that knew what they were doing. I was told the chef went and trained in France. I believe it! The restaurant is still pretty, peaceful, and calm, just as it was before it was a creperie. I think in the future I will skip the savory crepe and head for the sweet! read more

We went to Harvest about 2 years ago and it was fabulous! The food was great and the service was impeccable. We went to Harvest La Creperie today and it wasn't the same. We had the Philly Cheesesteak crepe and the Chicken Salad sandwich. Neither had much flavor. The Chicken Salad was bland and was like paste. The Philly Cheesecake was also bland. We also had the peach cobbler specialty desert. It was ok. The presentation of both plates and the dessert was good. Service? The people we encountered were very nice and helpful. But paying $59 for lunch, I guess I would expect service, not an order at the counter. Our food was brought to our table and bussed away, but it's not the same. All in all, it just didn't stack up to what the Harvest was 2 years ago. read more

We tried this restaurant for the first time last week. As we walked in the atmosphere was inviting. The Service was good and food was delicious! My pork chop was cooked to perfection as was my husband's steak. For dessert we both had a crepe which was yummy! You can usually find the usual fish, steak, and chicken but elevated to fine dining. Or, expand your pallet to a variety of other entrees like shrimp, quail, rabbit, or whatever special of the day the chef has cooked up. I was adventurous and tried a fried frog leg appetizer. I've never had anything bad here. Food is fresh and delightful delicious. It's a great restaurant for date night. Prices are more than you'd find elsewhere in the area, but the culinary journey your mouth will take is worth it. If you want to try their food and not spend as much, try lunch. They offer affordable lunch options that treat your mouth to deliciousness. There is also a daily lunch special. As for specifics, the steak I had was perfection. I've tried chicken, shrimp, rabbit, quail, and I can't even remember what else. It was all fantastic. The chef knows how to cultivate flavors and how to pair them well. It was very very elegant inside. The waiter was on key the whole time. Sorry I don't have any pictures but I recommend the catfish plate. It is so so good I can't even tell you're eating catfish there's absolutely no smell or taste. My husband and I just experienced a delightful lunch at Harvest Restaurant. Traveling through Comanche, we found Harvest on the downtown square. We arrived a little before the end of their lunch seating. We checked to make sure we were not too late, and we were greeted with a smile and a welcoming attitude. The hostess, Bernadette, was also our server. She took care of us beautifully. The food was outstanding. I had the chicken coconut crêpes with mango and a side salad with in house balsamic dressing. My husband had the Cajun Alfredo Chicken. Both was very enjoyable! The restaurant is very nice, comfortable and very clean. We were traveling and decided to try Harvest because of the reviews on Yelp. We were not disappointed. The food was wonderful. I had the ravioli, my friend had the crepe and our husbands had the shrimp poboy. Everything was delicious! The interior is decorated like a French bistro. We found out the owners are taking their daughter to France so she can attend culinary school there during the months of April and May, so the restaurant will be closed for those months. What a delight to find this little jewel of a restaurant in Comanche, TX. When we were traveling through. My husband had a beef filet over bleu cheese roasted potatoes. I had Red Snapper served with a peach chutney and spring vegetables. Pleasant atmosphere, friendly wait staff and excellent service. They use local merchants for many of their selections, including some wines. Meeting the chef and his lovely wife was a delightful experience! Driving thru and saw the Yelp reviews so we gave it a try. Great place. The soup of the day was yummy. I had the local grass fed burger and it was perfect. My wife had a spinach and arugula salad with lots of stuff on it and she enjoyed it as well. Bernadette was our server and she took wonderful care of us. Very friendly and fun to talk to. Went to the reviews to check this place out. One review mentioned "slightly upscale place". Hmmmm. This conjures up visions that would fit in the hit song Fancy Like! Gotta say, we were NOT disappointed. Place is set up nice - think business casual, though I was in shorts and button down and did not feel out of place. We started with the Caprese Salad - fantastic!!! The salad was fresh and crisp. Next, we went with the special - chicken linguini with smoked tomato sauce. The sauce was good and not overpowering - pairing with the chicken and pasta. The chicken sliced thin and was tender. I really wanted to like this place. What could be better than a local restaurant with good food? They have a delicious sounding blackened salmon salad on the menu. The problem is I don't like salmon but I do love blackened chicken. The server assured me she could make that happen. So I enjoyed my half and half sweet tea and waited on the salad. I do have to say that Estella and the rest of the service crew are fantastic. They were very attentive and my glass was never empty. When the chicken came out I could tell that it had not been blackened at all. I could also tell that the edges of the breast before dicing was overcooked. The vinaigrette wasn't to my liking, but it could be taste preference. All I could taste was the white vinegar and maybe a little sugar. No other flavor came through for me. I am hoping my experience is a one-off. Looking at the other reviews, I am certain it is. In retrospect, I should have sent it back and given them the opportunity to make it right, but didn't have time. I'll definitely give them another try next time! Today we took a day trip with our friends to Comanche Texas. The best restaurant in town is the harvest rest. Two of us ordered the Reuben sandwich and two got the chicken salad sand. The business was very slow as it was after lunch but the employees treated us like it was rush time. Our wait person was Estela and she was amazing in every way. This place is an hour and a half from our house and she immediately made the drive worth while. She got our drinks, answered our questions, took our order and left us to visit. Our food came in good time and we ate. I had the best Reuben sandwich I've had since the Jewish deli in Los Angeles back on 1971 when I worked on downtown LA. I had the shoe string fries and they were hot and fresh. After we had eaten, she brought the dessert tray and I didn't want any of it but our friends did and the key lime pie was calling me and I listened. This place was clean and well maintained. The restroom was great. We will be back. I can't end this without mentioning Estela again. She was the best. read more
