Fantastic plant-based pizza with unique flavor combos!…read more My family and I stopped by Pizza Verde for dinner on a Saturday night. We were the only people eating in. You order at the front and then they bring you your food. We started with the Fried Mozzarella, which was crispy on the outside and gooey on the inside! I was shocked by the almond vegan cheese -- it tasted just like regular cheese! For pizzas, we had the Jalapeño Popper, Sundried, and the Kimchi special. Our favorite was the Sundried -- the pesto was delicious and complemented the sundried tomatoes! All of the pizzas were thin crust and served piping hot. Definitely recommend trying their house-made ranch and hot sauce! For dessert we ordered the Fried Dough and Salted Caramel Gelato. Both were not too sweet and hit the spot! The only reason I took off a star was due to service. Everyone was friendly, but we had to bus our entire table. From grabbing plates/utensils to fully clearing/cleaning the table at the end. We were the only patrons and paid tip up front, so I figured there would be at least some assistance with cleaning up.

I gave it three stars due to location. The up front service was polite and friendly. Lots of good people smiles and attentive. Our waitress was pleasant and gave suggestions along the way. I was expecting a fabulous 5 star food experience. I was so disappointed. The food was a great disappointment, no flavor. The plating was a mess and not appealing at all. We had a party of four and only one person was pleased with their dinner. This was the Beet Salad. Sloppy plating, only about four beet slices, covered in micro greens, freeze dried chickpeas, and vinegar. The vinegar dressing overpowered the salad and it needed salt. For $15, I was so disappointed Soba Noodles was poorly plated. Down right ugly and unappealing. The person who ordered it, said it was plain. No taste and extremely vinegary. Such a disappointment. Broiled Salmon was plated just ok. The salmon was cooked well and had good simple flavor. I enjoyed it. The side was supposed to be butternut squash and broccolini. I got four butternut squash cubes and 1 tiny broccolini. The purée on the bottom was a vinegar butternut squash- very sour and not enjoyable. It did add to the dish at all. In between the butternut squash and broccolini, there was about 13 soggy croutons that made the sides look filled in but left the palate wanting more. I so dislike soggy bread, no matter what format it comes in. The whole plate was covered in micro-greens, as to hide the plating and make it look bigger than what it is. The New York strip was cooked to perfection and the polenta was tasty. However that whole plate was $55. Plated well and had really good flavor. This party member was the only one that enjoyed his food and experience. Out of the four of us, only one left satisfied with his meal. And that was the New York strip steak. The rest of us left hungry and unsatisfied with our dinners. We were hoping that our very souls would have been touched by the food of this particular Chef . We had heard so many great things about it, only to be incredibly disappointed. I will say that this restaurant is the most expensive, fanciest , nicest, AND CLEANEST restaurant in Mineral Wells. But the food is lacking. I'm sorry.

Our server was attentive and made great recommendations for drinks. The black truffle fries and chips and guacamole appetizers were excellent as were the drink prices. I would like to personally thank Mesquite Pit for taking me on an emotional journey I did NOT sign…read moreup for. Picture this: I'm craving prime rib like it's my last meal on earth. I do the responsible thing and CALL AHEAD like a civilized human being. "Do y'all have prime rib?" I ask. "Yes," they say--with confidence. With conviction. With what I can only assume was zero verification. So I drive my hungry, hopeful self all the way there, already tasting that juicy, perfect bite in my mind... only to be told: "Oops, no they told you wrong, we dont have prime rib " Oops? That's not a minor inconvenience. That's betrayal. That's psychological damage. That's me sitting there questioning my life choices while staring at a menu I no longer trust. No apology worth mentioning, no effort to make it right--just vibes and disappointment. If you're going to crush someone's dinner dreams, at least have the decency to do it over the phone so I can cry in my car at home instead of your parking lot. 10/10 for building anticipation. 0/10 for delivering anything resembling prime rib. Would I come back? Only if I'm emotionally stronger.

The two entrees we ordered for our preteens and it was also a generous portion but they finished it! Two adults ordered the filet steaks. Mine cooked medium was a bit dry. The other cooked medium rare was much juicier. So lean towards medium rare. The shape of the filet was wonky. I'm used to a firm tall filet. I think I saw these are cut in house? Maybe that's why it was wonky. It tasted good tons of grill/smoke flavor which I could have done at home. I don't usually order steak here and I probably won't again. But the sides are great- the green beans have brisket and bacon? Not sure but they were yummy. The baked potato only came with sour cream and cheese. Maybe butter too but it must have melted on the line. No bacon or chives... I was happy to share this restaurant with my family but note to self- try somewhere else next time in town. Ambiance was chill and it's nice that they close at 8:30. Keeps the trouble out. Our server wasn't the best but it looked like other tables had good service.

Most everyone gives this place 5 stars, and I would say Fire Oak absolutely earned them! No suspense here.... This restaurant is awesome! I unreservedly say 5 stars! My lovely bride and I went on a Saturday night. I made reservations several days in advance and I imagine it to be a wise choice. This place is on the expensive side, but worth every penny! The building is probably mid 1800's but they have partitioned the seating areas so that the sound does not echo off the original tin ceiling. What a beautiful dining experience in this place! My wife and I tried to think of anything that did not match the 5 star rating but we just couldn't. I am so happy we came here! Our waiter was Railen(?)..... Tall, blond hair, and thin. Seems like a good guy. Great waiter for sure. He recommended a couple of items that turned out to be pretty good. We ordered the ahi tuna to share, and it did not disappoint! I ordered a salad which was also excellent. We both ordered the sous vide filet. I hadn't tried this before, and I was pretty happy with it. It was cooked perfectly, so tender, and it tasted very good. I can see me trying this again. The side was macaroni- possibly the best macaroni ever. We ordered crème brûlée for dessert. Very creamy, very pretty. I am very happy we came here, and I highly recommend it!
