Located in a motel I stay at some times. There is a full menu of items with some vegetarian options. The bar has a good cocktail list. I ate here twice. The food was ok but not great. Same for the cocktails. Friendly and efficient service. High ceilings give the the place a nice feel. read more

It is one of the best places to eat dinner in Mount Shasta, I will say that! I would only go here on Friday or Saturday though as the chef seems to put more effort into the food on the weekend when it's busier. There is one waiter who works here who is literally the best waiter I have ever experienced in my life! He has the brightest personality, super kind, delivers beyond phenomenal experience every single time. He is one of the reasons we keep coming back to eat dinner here. The vibes are top notch with his service, he really should be in a 5 star restaurant, I am serious, he is that good! The food quality & presentation is hit or miss here though, which is something you should know. It isn't consistent which is why I reduced the rating. Sometimes the food is really great and presented well too! Other times within the same week the quality and presentation declines significantly. This is why I am thinking the weekend is best to go eat here rather than during the week. When the chef actually cares the food is great, when he doesn't care it shows significantly. We had a 6:00pm reservation. When we arrived we were seated right away at a nice table by the fireplace. We got drinks right away and then ordered our dinners. Our food took 40 minutes to arrive for a burger and an order of Stroganoff. When it arrived my plate was hot but the stroganoff was barely warm. Since it took so long to get it I didn't send it back for fear I would never see it again. The drinks were great and my husband said his burger and fries were good. I'm sure my meal would have been better had it been hot, but even so it was palatable. read more

Way over priced for the food quality. We frequently stay at the Shasta Inn and this restaurant is in the lodge. So we decided to give it a try. I was really disappointed. The staff was super friendly, but service was slow for food coming out. I had clam chowder, which was satisfactory, but lacked clams and any real flavor. For dinner, I had the braised rib with mashed potatoes and tomato sauce. It was bland, and very plain. I was truly disappointed in it. For the price, I expected so much more. My son had a Wagyu burger with fries, and it was OK. Again overpriced for the quality of food. Frankly, I was very disappointed and would not go back. read more

This is one of my absolute favorite places to eat in Mt Shasta ! the food is always fantastic and the portions for the prices are a steal:) the bartenders and wait staff are friendly and very considerate. It doesn't matter how busy they get it never feels to crowded or to loud. Couldn't be happier that I have a place I can enjoy a meal this good in Shasta P.S. Had to wait 15 mins for an extra dish to place half the salad on to find out the cucumbers were moldy . Took 2 hrs to receive our meal as our Shirley temple were watered down with the wrong ingredients which was sprite abd cranberry juice. Eventually continued to ask for water and bread as they both continued to forget. Expensive meal with alot of asking to get what we would like when a continuation of multiple forgetfulness with absolutely No compassion to even say they were sorry . This place has the ambience that you would want in any mountain restaurant. We were seated right away. Our drinks were served by Trevor. Trevor was also our waiter and he was polite and very informative. Unfortunately, he was running a full bar and trying to serve tables at the same time. We placed our order with Trevor 45 minutes later we received our entrees and both of our dinners were cold. I sent mine back. My place was brought back out to me and both dinners were terrible. I would not recommend this place to anybody!!the owners were sitting a table over from us and never noticed the food went back or that they staff was short handed. When we arrived at 6:45pm and they were able to seat us right away even though I made reservations for two at 7pm on Jan 15, 2023. We ordered our cocktails..a moscow mule and spicy margarita and let me just say the cocktails were just ok. It was lacking more alcohol. So wasn't so impressed with the drinks. We were hungry so right away we placed our order when we ordered our cocktails. We ordered a house salad, short ribs and mussels. Keep in mind I noted the time we sat down and the time we got our food. We had to wait an 1 hour and 10 mins for our food to arrive and when It arrived the food was not even steaming hot, just warm and salad leaves were wilted. Basically we just ate our food and left right away not even wanting desserts. For a $100 worth of meal and you had to wait that long it was not worth it. Everyone was nice. BUT while getting a drink at the hotel bar (Harvest Restaurant) we encountered the rudest bartender EVER! We asked for a Mai Tai drink and you would have thought we had asked him for his first child born! He said In a manner that was straight out of central casting for rude bartenders, "we don't make Mai Tais! We are a small bar in a small town, no one in Mt Shasta makes them". My wife and I only drink while vacationing. We are grandparents who babysit our grandchildren five days a week. This was our weekend to have a drink. So, we said fine, we will look elsewhere. He became Nathan Lane (An uncanny resemblance) sarcastic! He went into a rant about Mt Shasta being a small mountain town, and that no bar in town was stupid enough to keep all the ingredients for a Mai Tai drink around and let it rot, when only a few people order them. You can be rude to me, but don't mess with my WIFE! I got mad and called him an assh_le! He went into damage control and bought our drinks. I will turn 70 this year and have been to many establishments in my time. But I have NEVER been waited on by such a blatantly rude person! The fact that management allows this type of behavior from their staff, is intolerable! We will NEVER go to The Harvest Restaurant again! I believe the prices are so low compared to the service and the dishes that that you receive, the food is unbelievable good! No food should take over an hour to arrive. We ordered Lamb shank and Halibut. Both were special for the night. No excuse why on earth it takes so long. Everything here is on a snail pace. Bread came out about 30 minutes in, asked if we wanted another glass of wine so we said yes. So far, we've been waiting 15 minutes for that to No avail. I think they forgot. It's not busy either. Do not go here. After over an hour, food finally came out. Rice was cold but fish was done in a good way and tasted good. Lamb tasted good too but too bad it came out so late. read more

Very poorly run restaurant. RSVP for 6:30, placed drink orders at 6:45, at 7 told no more lemonade or Thyme for cocktail. Placed food orders and 7:30 told out of beats for 3 beat salads. Food arrived at 8pm despite saying bring when ready for 2 kid meals. Had to ask for bread at 7:45 Food quality not great. My boyfriend and I visited Harvest during our visit to Mt. Shasta. He loves lamb, so when he saw that was a special, he had to try. It was SO good. The beer salad and short rib entree are must-try's. Okay, so I am kinda sad that I have to write a negative review. I loved the ambiance and the waitresses. The food however was horrible. I am not a picky person. I grew up poor and I always try to eat my food regardless. Unfortunately , almost everything was inedible. My chicken wings varied in size, so the small wings were good but the big ones were cold in the middle, the Brussels sprouts were gross. The fettuccine was weird. The Buddha bowl tasted like how compost smelled. Everything had so much feta cheese it was almost as if the cook was trying the hide the fact that the food was old by covering it in feta. Idk. I wouldn't recommend this place at all. The prices, the waitresses, the ambiance spot on . The food is horrible. Fire your chef. Or send them back to school. I didn't even take the food home for my dogs. We left a fat tip because we pitied the waitresses that had to serve such gross food . The Cesar salad was good tho. read more

We have been to Harvest several times and have to say the last two times it was great! Food was tasty and hot. Service was friendly and timely. And the ambiance is cozy and comfortable. The owners have put a lot of time and energy into making this a great spot. They've had some growing pains but have come out on top. Everything is carefully prepared so it takes some time to get your food but we appreciate high quality dining and this place gets it done even on weekends when it is crowded. The cozy, nice ambience doesn't make up for the rest. I was traveling and stopped at the attached Shasta Inn for the night when it got dark. It was a bit late and the dinner rush seemed to be over. I just wanted something light and quick so ordered a bowl of soup and water. Since it did not come with bread, I requested some. I waited at least a half an hour until finally asked another waiter what was up with the order. Another ~15 minutes and the soup of the day arrived. It would have been tasty but it was barely warm so was not. I did not send it back because I was wanting to get the heck out of there, get to bed and continue my trip early the next morning. The bill was $22.05 for soup & crisp cold bread. So . . . service was ridiculously slow, food was unacceptable and cost was not commensurate with food received. Disappointing. read more

We went to Harvest (inside Shasta Inn) for the first time last night. Not sure why we waited so long to go; it was fabulous. From the drinks ( a little disappointed they didn't have mint for the Mojito) I had a greyhound; to the Crab Cake Appetizer and onto the Bleu Cheese Crumble Salad and then my Entree of the Braised Short Rib (almost as good as mine) was absolutely delicious! They were extremely busy in there almost all tables were full with 2 servers and the bar packed as well. The staff worked hard to accommodate all the patrons needs and for that they get "Kudos" from our group. Others in our group had the Peruvian Chicken and said it was off the hook. It is not often we all clean our plates (and portions were nice). Highly recommend this gem of a resturant in Mount Shasta, Ca. We will definitely return, soon! read more

Saturday 10.26.2024. Value for food & service isn't there. The servers are well-versed in delivering glowing descriptions of menu listings that do not deliver. The appetizer lists Baked Bread & Butter. Which is better than unbaked bread & butter, but do not believe that bread is baked on-premises or even imagine it arrives in advance of your meal and other than completely cold. Ordered the Buttermilk Chicken with vegetables and, per the waiter's recommendation, their famous mac and cheese. The vegetables were from a frozen source as the broccoli was freezer cold (not exaggerating), next to barely warm onions that were not cooked, and the largest & toughest carrot rings available. The mac and cheese side online images illustrate a small casserole dish with bread topping. The waiter described the various cheeses used in the recipe. Instead, our mac & cheese was mac & milk sauce without any, repeat any, cheese or flavor; served loose on the plate to swim with the chicken & frozen vegetables. Often I don't think much of hotel restaurants, but the food at the Harvest is an exception. The Harvest is a little gem tucked away in the Shasta Inn. Each time I have eaten at The Harvest the food was delicious and the sauces were rich with delicate flavors. My two favorite dishes are the scampi and the beef stroganoff, but it is hard to pass up the lamb; it is pretty darn yummy too. read more

We had to ask our server about the long wait, she never bothered to to bring us bread as a way of saying sorry for the long wait, give us an update about when our order would be ready. Fair warning to anyone going to this restaurant, check your credit card statement! After our less than desirable visit several days ago, (previous review) they decided it was a good idea to alter our sales receipt and give themselves an undeserving tip. Patronize this establishment at your own risk, I can't even believe that I have to warn people to watch their accounts. Altering sales tickets is beyond shady, shame on you guys. The food was very good but I paid $30 for pasta and the price gets you just the entree. You get nothing else. No bread, no side salad. I felt for the price, there should have been more. I will probably not go back. I can get other tasty meals for better prices. read more
