Its a tiny hole in the wall and one of the only worthwhile places to eat near mc cloud falls so dont miss it. Mr. Floyd welcomes u himself and the staff is friendly. Lots of parking in the same square and though the lines look long when u get in, they are serviced quickly so average wait time is less than 15 mins which is not bad. If u are really hungry then order a shake/ drink/ ice cream as well and it comes to u as u are getting billed. In $40, we got: - cheeseburger - 5/5- comes with mayo lettuce pickle onion tomato - grilled cheese sandwich (comes with fries) 5/5- u cant beat this $10 combo for a full meal - strawberry shake - 3/5- too sweet for my liking but very filling - root beer float - 5/5 yummy! - tater tots - 5/5 huge portions for a side and soft and crispy at the same time which tasted amazeballs.. #supportlocal #musttry Good outdoor seating. The indoor seating is big but not as airy. Clean restrooms!!

FOOD - Corn Dog: outside crunchy, hot dog could be warmer. 3.5/5 - Root Beer Float: yummy! Especially after a hike! 4.5/5 - Half & Half Soft Serve: also yummy! 4.5/5 SERVICE: Fast and friendly. It would be nice to have a second bathroom. The line took forever! FINAL THOUGHTS: I would come back and try a burger and maybe a smoothie next time.

Great burgers and hot dogs. The sign reads, "Best burgers in Siskiyou County." We have to agree. Don't forget to try a shake or frosty. The soft serve is delicious. There are some outdoor, covered (so doggo friendly). There's also an inside dining room. Cash, card and Apple Pay.

Floyd's was the only option opened for us when we got to McCloud on a Wednesday afternoon. The menu looked like your old fashioned burger joint, so we were pretty excited for it. The food was great. It was good quality and cooked very well. I got the Elk Burger with fries. It was a bit pricier than I anticipated ($20), but I guess that comes with the territory as McCloud is very far and a bit secluded. We also got the hamburger and onion rings. The burger was also delicious, and Onion Ring was cooked perfectly. The downside was that it was about $8. It only came with 6 onion rings. I would also recommend getting a milkshake. They have a lot of combinations you can choose from to personalize to your liking.

First of all, personable and friendly service by both the gentleman at the counter and the employees who delivered the food to our table. This is a small, casual eatery with booths that can seat less than 20 people, I'm guessing. But, there is also outside seating so that's a bonus. The Mixed Berry Milkshake was excellent. My husband had a chocolate-banana malt that he really enjoyed. We also shared any order of tater tots that hit the spot. This is a good place to stop for ice cream or a burger after visiting Burney Falls.

McCloud is a very small town. While I was there, I was looking for a casual place to have some lunch, and there is not really much to choose from. It's a simple little cafe, where you order from the counter and then they cook your food. I ordered the cheeseburger, which goes for $7.95. I thought it was a solid hamburger, as it had quite a bit of meat inside. The food here seems to be fine, but realistically, I didn't think there was anything special about it.

I just returned from a camping trip at McArthur-Burney Memorial State Park in sub-freezing nightly temperatures. So, to reward myself for 'roughing it,' I took a drive along the breathtakingly beautiful Volcanic Legacy Scenic Byway (State Highway 89) from the park to the picturesque small town of McCloud. While in McCloud, I stopped by Floyd's Frosty. Wow. Just....wow. This is a fantastic burger/ice cream/milkshake joint that serves up all of the goodness you want after a week of camping, hiking, skiing, sledding or snow boarding. The food is absolutely delicious and the outdoor seating provides a "billion dollar view" of Mt. Shasta. The food is cooked the old fashioned way -- with good ingredients and a good cook on a good grill. My double cheeseburger was fantastic. The mozzarella sticks were probably the best that I've ever tasted -- with fantastic batter (completely unlike those you buy at a grocery or big box store). The fries were nice and crispy too! The staff is very friendly and patient when you're ordering. They want to get your burger or sandwiches correct. What is correct? The way you want it! A guy working on the soda fountain struck up a conversation with us -- and he was genuinely interested in our experiences that week (and offered some friendly thoughts about the snow season and potential things for our next trip in the area). I didn't order a milkshake or ice cream. However, someone ordered FOUR different milkshakes while we were eating. As someone who worked at an ice cream shop while I was still a teenager, I could "hear" the sound of real milkshakes made correctly. If it wasn't so cold outside (and I wasn't so incredibly full), I probably would have ordered one to go. The only thing that was disappointing here is the realization that I cannot find a burger spot like this in the Silicon Valley. The Bay Area is filled with upscale burger spots; however, they just lack that sense of made-in-the-real-world feel (and taste) that you find in a place like Floyd's Frosty. Verdict: FIVE (delicious) STARS!

I stopped in for a bite to eat in the afternoon on my latest trip. I love finding and supporting locally owned restaurants. Those working were very friendly and helpful and the food was fresh and delicious. They had plenty of choices on the menu including elk burgers! There was a constant stream of customers and it was obvious that the quality of the food and service brings people in! There is also outdoor shaded seating with a great view of the volcano! If you're near Mt Shasta this would be a great place to stop in for a delicious bite and a tasty shake!

Warm friendly atmosphere where you feel you've stepped back in another time dimension where you're greeted at the door and the small town where you feel welcome. This is in the historic building where this was the original butcher shop for the logging company, Mother McCloud, surrounded by history of when the town was completely self sufficient. Priceless. Our dinners were amazing. The steaks grilled to perfection. My grandson had surf & turf, my granddaughter was a super thumbs up thrilled with her NY steak. My Cobb salad more plentiful than I could image. Everyone was laughing and enjoying theirselves along with the friendliest staff interactions. I cannot wait to go again. Butcher Block is a must for food, service, and ambience. I would recommend calling for reservations around 4:00 pm as this hot spot filled up quickly.

We chose to sit outside which was wonderful on a pleasant evening. We ordered a particular Pinot Noir. The server came back with tastes of two alternates as they were out of what we ordered. We saw this as awesome customer service! We ordered the burrata with tapenade appetizer and it was the highlight of the evening. The Moroccan chicken dish sounded fantastic, but was just OK. The flavorings were interesting, but after several bites felt too intense. And why was there so much arugula on top? The Trout arrived with a burnt crust and was dry. The server responded the right way and offered a second chance. That arrived looking much better, but was absolutely raw in the middle. The setting, the server's warm customer service, the appetizer, and the wonderful Pinot Noir are reasons for the three stars. They just need to find a chef that can execute the promise of the menu.

I am a tad arrogant, having access to the some of the best cuisine by living close to San Francisco. Now to be fair, their price point reflects what you see sitting on the plate before you. The service is polite. Ambiance is fun. I ran around in these train cars as a child while vacationing with family 30 years ago. My advice would be, go with what works. The previous owner had it going on, knew the territory so to speak. This place has "warning Will Robbinson" all over it, like sushi in Kansas. A tuckered out Fly Fisherman would prefer a great steak and baked potato. No shame in that, it is the pillar of American dining. If I want foo-foo, I will go to SFO. But then again, I think the food in Paris is "OK", (specifically their entrees) Paris has great bread, crackers and cheese. Alright, pastry, baguets, and fromage. All the offerings in Italy are amazing and the only thing to eat in the UK are chippies. The best "foo foo food" was Betlenut Pan-Asian on Union Street in San Francisco. Lost their lease however. THAT was the bom-d-idly. Hey if you want a fabulous steak, try Jacks in DT Redding. Great place, but you will wait an hour, maybe two. But it is worth the wait. Has an interesting provenance, the location and building itself, was a house of ill repute back in the FDR days, so the legend goes. Cafe Maddalena in Dunsmuir is excellent as well. This faux fusion/euro/cubano/too cool to be true... might make 2 years max. It is the epitome of "The fastest way to make a small fortune, out of a large fortune is to start a restaurant." Inherited money, I can smell it burning in the kitchen.
