This establishment was certainly a good choice. While we did wait 20 minutes or so for a table for 2, the waiting area was comfortable, with clear lines of sight to the television. Once we were seated, we ordered a variety of dishes - Thai/asian callimari (great), chicken wings (okay, not enough meat on them imo) and a chicken quesadilla (very good). Afterwards, we ordered a lava cake (great) and. A pint of beer, both of which were happy hour prices (half price for the cake, and $5 for the pint). The staff was friendly, and it was a good vibe. Busy, but not overwhelmingly crowded. We stayed for 2ish hours and weren't pushed away from our table . A strong recommendation from me!

The interiors are tastefully done with lots of wood. I had the chicken fajita and for the table we had the calamari. Both were excellent. The quantity was huge so if you have a good appetite this is the place. The service was excellent and efficient and our server came back every now and then to check on us.

I checked their…read morebusiness hours and noted that their garden is open until 5 p.m. and their kitchen is open until 6 p.m. We arrived around 4:50 p.m. and saw that there was staff standing at the entrance to the garden. It gave the impression that they were guarding the entrance and that customers were not allowed to browse their plant selection, even though the store had not closed yet. We went over to their restaurant section and ordered at their kitchen order counter. I heard the cashier tell another customer that the dining room was now closed and they would have to get their food to go. When we ordered, I asked if we'd be able to eat there and was told that would not be possible. It was odd, as I saw people sitting at a table and getting their food delivered to their table. I inquired with the staff that brought out the food if it'd be alright for us to eat there, and she said yes. The broasted chicken we got was tasty, but slightly on the salty side. The broasted potatoes were a letdown. It was soft and not crispy at all. It seemed like since it was almost the end of the day, we were given what had been sitting around and not a fresh order. We had gotten an order for three pieces of broasted potatoes and were given five. Once again, we suspect this was because it was closer to the end of the day and they just wanted to get rid of it. The tossed salad did not look like it was tossed. The lettuce was stuck together (and perhaps had not been washed). Upon leaving, I overheard a customer confirm with staff that the kitchen closes at 6 p.m. and there are still thirty minutes until then, so there is no reason why they could not enjoy their food there.

Imagine my surprise when I saw this place, which I believe was the clubhouse for the golf course, now open to the public. Let's start with the venue. Interior is basic...nothing to write home about. Outside, there's a huge wooden deck right on the water...,fantastic views with cooling breezes. Huge plus and unique to the area. Service was good....you go to the bar area counter to order, as there is no table service. The girl who took our order was obviously being trained as she kept having to ask a seasoned staff member for help. She'll get there but was friendly none the less. Food was a let down. My partner ordered a grilled cheese with bacon with a side of fries. When his order was ready, it was just a plain grilled cheese with no bacon. Don't know what we were charged for as we weren't given a copy of the bill when we ordered. Fries were good. I orderwd a clubhouse sandwich on whole wheat....It was bland....not much flavour to it. Fries were good. We had to ask for cutlery and ketchup, which we heard the seasoned staff member remind the trainee to give to customers. Oh...as there's no table service, you're given a pager which goes off when your food is ready. This place has so much potential as it's unique in the area...,but alas, we were both underwhelmed by the food. There's also a small market indoors selling local produce..,prices seemed reasonable.

Noise level? Loud, but hey, it's a bar. The food? Ohhh, buckle up. I ordered a $10 burger. Seems fine... until you realize cheese is extra (because apparently dairy is a luxury item now) and it comes with no sides. Fries? That'll be another $4. And what do $4 fries look like? Picture 6 crinkle-cut sweet potato soldiers lost in a basket, sitting next to caramel dipping sauce like it's some kind of dessert tragedy. Proof in the photo -- that's not a "side of fries," that's a cry for help. And they brought the fries out a solid 10 minutes before my burger. Nothing says "romantic dinner" like watching your $4 worth of food slowly cool while waiting for your $10 burger to arrive. My boyfriend got a $3 Busch Light (hello, profit margins ) and a chicken wrap that was the size of a Taco Bell soft taco. Sure, he said it tasted good, but for $9, he'd need it to come with a foot rub and a motivational speech to make it worth it. We're young (I'm 22, he's 23), so going out is a treat. But this? This was the kind of "treat" where you wish you stayed home and microwaved a Hot Pocket instead. The waiter was sweet, and I think the owner checked on us, but I was too sad to say anything. Sad because they really think these prices match their portions. Final verdict: McDonald's would've been cheaper, tastier, and given me at least 12 fries.
