I found out that Harvey's has a deal with its original beef and veggie burgers. You can get two for $8. If you want to mix and match them, it all works. I had no idea where the nearest Harvey's was from the borders of Toronto, Scarborough, and Markham. I did a search and realized that there's this one further south on Victoria Park, before you hit highway 401. It's funny. I have blown past this location many times. I've never stopped by. I also knew that there was an Chinese grocery store in the same plaza. Here's to another cool stop at two stores that I needed. The drive down was smooth. It took perhaps ten minutes. I had to make a left turn into the plaza. It took a bit of time, but I eventually made a safe turn. I did grocery shopping first. I had backed into a spot that directly faced the drive-thru, steps away from the grocery store's entrance. When I was done, I simply drove straight ahead to place my order at the drive-thru. I had a nice woman on the other end taking my order. I ordered two original beef burgers. I went with my standard toppings on both: lettuce, tomatoes, mayo, and relish. She was so friendly. There was a bit of a wait, but I didn't mind. This Harvey's is also a Swiss Chalet. Excellent! I was drooling looking at the poutine on the menu. I love poutine. Harvey's does poutine well. I paid with a debit card. The woman had the payment machine taped to a hockey stick. Love! The transaction was smooth. I wonder if that hockey stick is ever used on deadbeat customers who don't pay. Hmm... I got my food in a paper bag. I thanked her and left. When I got home, I had my food. I loved the original burger. It was the right size. The flame-broiled beef patty was yummy. The toppings were perfect. I was a bit rusty and realized that my usual mayo is garlic mayo. These burgers hit the spot for dinner. The next day, I returned for the same deal. Yep, I was back less than 24 hours later. Instead, I got original and veggie burgers. With the latter, you have the option of getting a regular or multigrain bun. I had never had the multigrain bun before, so I chose it. The veggie burger is pretty good here. It tastes like a regular beef patty. It wasn't dry. It had good flavour. I'd do it again. The multigrain bun made me feel like I was eating healthier... haha! I went with garlic mayo, along with lettuce, tomatoes, and relish. Both burgers tasted much better. Garlic is everything. I dig this Harvey's. I need to get poutine next time, but I keep dreaming about this burger deal. Maybe when it's gone, I'll get the poutine. It's $8.99 before taxes through the Harvey's app. I placed this order for takeout: - Angus burger on a multigrain bun - Onion rings - Regular Diet Pepsi I got an estimated time of fifteen minutes. It was perfect, as I was wrapping up an errand a few blocks north of this eatery. I don't normally visit this plaza on the northeast corner of Markham Road and 16th Avenue. Garden Basket anchors it. I had no problem finding this eatery. Booster Juice is next door. This Harvey's does not have a drive-thru. I backed into a parking spot and walked over. There was plenty of parking at around 2 pm. There were places to sit down and eat on either side of the doors. Ahead of me on the right was the fountain machine and a door to the washrooms. On my left, I saw a sign for order pickups. Just what I was looking for! There was a cheerful young woman who greeted me there. I let her know that I had an order and said my first name. She nodded and happily handed over my drink and a bag of food. I loved that my drink had my name on the lid. I thanked her. I then headed to a free table to sit down and have a late lunch. That's the catch with taking advantage of coupons. You either order for delivery or takeout through the app. You can't visit your local Harvey's and show the deal as you are placing the order in-person. It's weird. I'm happy that I can order takeout in advance and then dine in. You simply don't have a tray. The experience is the same. I love the angus burger at Harvey's. She made me feel like I was at fault. After speaking with Harvey's guest experience on the phone, I got a new code and expiration date for a free birthday pie. It did not have a barcode, so I'd have to show these details to a staff member at Harvey's. Last Wednesday, I was doing my regular errands in Whitchurch-Stoufville. I decided to get my apple pie at this Harvey's. The last time I was here was in December 2020. I parked in front of this Harvey's-Swiss Chalet combo store. The main entrance was closed. The door closest to the drive-thru is the only entrance-exit here. A couple enjoying their meal on the patio also mentioned this detail to me as I was reading the signs. It was like I got the message in stereo. I like how helpful folks are here and I thanked them. I walked up to the order area and waited as I saw roughly seven staff members preparing orders. It was quite the sight seeing orchestrated, organized chaos! Eventually, a nice man came over to help me out. I indicated that I was redeeming for a birthday pie. He took my word, which was the exact opposite experience from that in Etobicoke. "You have the code, right?" he asked me. "Yes," I said and showed him. He didn't bother entering it into his system. The maximum number that you can get in a combo is four, but you can always add more if you want. As a result, I maxed my order out at four. I typically get either onion rings or upgrade to poutine as my side. I felt like a salad and got one with Chalet dressing. I was so happy that I was at a combo store. I love Chalet salad dressing so much! I got a cup, paper straw, and a lid. I paid using my debit card. I tapped and was done. He said that it wouldn't take took long. I went over to the fountain machine to get a Diet Pepsi. You don't get any napkins there, but you can throw the paper straw wrapper over there. This area was impeccably clean. The male staffer wasn't wrong with how quickly my order was processed. I had barely stood there and he called my name. Not too sweet. Full of flavour. All good! I loved my side salad. It's essentially a salad from Swiss Chalet with Chalet dressing. Although it does have iceberg lettuce that it's my favourite, I still enjoyed it with cucumbers, tomatoes, shredded cabbage, and a few mixed greens. It's all about the Chalet dressing! My Diet Pepsi was exactly what I had expected. It was fizzy and wasn't watered down. It hit the spot on a hot summer day. My apple pie was so good. It was crispy with a lot of apple filling.
