The takeout container itself looked noticeably empty and nowhere near filled with food. It felt like I was served mostly rice and vegetables, with only a minimal amount of the actual chicken and shrimp that the dish is named after. I've ordered this exact entrée numerous times at other Cheesecake Factory locations, so I know what a normal serving looks like. This wasn't a slight difference--it was dramatically below the standard. To make matters worse, the customer service did nothing to improve the experience. I understand it was an extremely hot day (around 97°F/36°C), and working in those conditions can't be easy. However, basic hospitality shouldn't disappear because of the weather. The staff I interacted with avoided eye contact, spoke in a robotic, indifferent manner, and made me feel like I was an inconvenience rather than a paying customer. This location also seems to have ongoing operational issues. On a previous visit, I was quoted a 90-minute wait, which is an extraordinarily long time even by Cheesecake Factory standards. Combined with this most recent experience, it gives the impression that this location is struggling with both service and quality control. The Cheesecake Factory has built its reputation on generous portions and a welcoming dining experience. This visit delivered neither. Paying premium prices while receiving what felt like a fraction of a normal portion, combined with cold and unfriendly service, left me feeling completely let down. I hope management takes this seriously because this experience fell well below the standards I've come to associate with The Cheesecake Factory. I will not be returning to the Yorkdale location.
