They definitely try to be flexible with my kids' school schedule which is so important, and they have been kind and understanding with them. My kids are pretty good about teeth stuff, but it still helps when they are understanding about pain during ortho adjustments. Okurrrrrrr.... Baby got braces (and so did my son). What had happened was... my teen had two baby teeth with no adult teeth in sight, so I knew a decision would have to be made on how we were going to address it. Our dentist suggested an ortho consultation with someone in his office so I figured why not throw myself into the consultation mix too? We had our consultation and I wasn't thrilled with the treatment plan for my son, so I decided to get a second consultation and that's where Dr. Hashem comes in. First of all, booking the consultation was easy and I had a lot of questions that were answered on the phone before we arrived. You get email and text reminders for your appointment and I do love technology so I appreciated that. My son and I both had xrays and then the doctor came in, checked us out and gave the treatment options. Oh my, so much to think about for my son! Do we remove the baby teeth and close the gaps with a 3 year plan or do we keep the teeth in and wait for them to fall out, hold the spaces and get implants when he turns 18? I decided that trying to keep his own teeth was a better, albeit more expensive option and I didn't want to set him up for a lifetime of implant drama if I could help it. My 50 year old mouth was doing fine but I do have some minor crowding on top and a major snaggletooth on the bottom that although isn't that noticeable, I notice. Neither one of us were candidates for Invisalign so we both opted for hybrid braces (clear on top and silver on the bottom). I researched that it's the best combo because the metal is more durable for bottom teeth. The office staff is so incredibly kind and efficient. It's like a well oiled machine! Everyone has their role and they execute them perfectly. Everyone looked like they actually enjoy their job. I heard about their slushees and how fun the waiting area is, but of course at this time, we couldn't experience any of it due to safety protocols. I spent hours researching all of the orthos in the area. Dr. Hashem has been in the field since 1996 and all my research on him was positive. Some people complained about the wait, but come on, this is a delicate and intricate process. Just assume you have an appointment after a PITA like me who has a million questions. I even saw a picture where they put wax and bands on their door for patients during the covid shut down. Isn't that sweet? I emailed them for the pic they took while I was there and not only did Mary send it to me, she asked how we were doing then replied again with some affirmations and suggestions for relief. In the end, comparing my two different consultations, 24 years of experience and the way they have the whole process down to a science, won me over. Plus the fact that we got our top braces right away. Like the same day we had our consultation!!! read more

My son has been seen here for the last 2.5 years. We met the orthodontist on the initial consultation and never saw that man again. The assistants are the only ones you will have contact with from there on out. They were terrible arlt giving updates and setting expectations (letting us know next steps...). They would just hand you a card with your next appointment on it. Several times we left there completely disappointed because we would be told my son would get braces off "next visit" only to get there and them tell it would be the next visit....this happened at least twice. Today was the last straw....we waited for an hour. I started to see other patients arriving after us being seen and we were still waiting. I'm pretty sure they had just forgotten about us. I had to go complain for them to realize they had forgotten about us.....so, we were told we would get braces off today and well, what do you know...they say next visit. I'm so sick of getting the run around....I cannot wait until my relationship with this office is done. I made the mistake of paying for all the care up front. Update on my experience with Hashem Orthodontics. I have been holding off on this review because I really wanted to give them a chance. However, I am a bit frustrated with my experience. I am not sure if the doctor or assistants know what they are doing. I have been told on more than one occasion that my braces would be coming off. However, they are still on. Two years ago when I started treatment, my teeth were not completely horrible but needed some corrections. I understand that this is a process, and I am not a professional. But, I truly feel if I went somewhere else, I would be done with treatment by now. Every time I go in there it is another problem. Then, on my last visit, I asked how much longer until my braces would be removed, and the assistant said the doctor told him " if I (the patient) feel everything looks good, then my next visit would be my last." Now again, I am not a professional, so why would that decision be placed on me? On top of that, I am seeing changes in my teeth. Not good changes. So, it seems I will be in my braces much longer than I anticipated. read more
