So we drove down and randomly saw this place and decided to have dinner. We ended up speaking with the owner. We asked about lodging and he told us he did not have anything available. He came back to ask us how we're doing and we asked if there was other lodging close by. He said they would most likely be booked. We told him about the night before and how we were very unprepared for cold weather. In front of him I told my boyfriend that we can sleep in the truck again, no worries. Next thing I know the owner came by again and said he has a camper for friends and family that no one is in and he offered it to us, saying he felt bad that we froze. We were elated. I have never felt more grateful and it reminded me that there really are kind souls. He walked us over and provided us towels and turned the heat up. It was perfect. We sat by the fire pit with others, who all had nothing but kind words about this place. People come every year and stay here. I felt such a warm welcome from everyone. My boyfriend and I are so thankful for the owners. We both said we can't wait to come here more and hopefully decades down the road we can stay in the same camper and reminisce. By the time the steak ready, we are half full with bread, salad, pickle and appetizer. 5 minute after the waitress brought the food to us, my mom asked a box to go, my husband ate not even half of his steak, I can't finish my meal either. We are so full end up to bring our food home. The waitress take too long to bring our bill and we still waited again for our debit card back then walk to look the waitress at the bar ask our card. As a former bartender I am all for upselling, but don't charge a customer for greygoose when they ordered a well vodka. Once we were finished eating we sat there for a good 15 minutes as she was outside on the patio smoking and chatting with her friends. I'm a bourbon fan and she made both those "old fashion drinks" in under a minute and they tasted like whiskey on the rocks. Wife hated it and I took her drink. I then ordered for her Titos and cranberry. Bartender said they were out of titos and she settled for Grey goose and cranberry. It was measured properly and very red, so can't complain but come on, you're going to charge us for Grey goose since you're out of titos but can't give it an extra splash? We looked at the menu and ordered the chicken Ceasars with NO chicken (there's a reason I'm making it clear that I said "no chicken") for the wife since shes vegetarian and I ordered their sampler platter. Bartender informed me that their fryer was broken and said I can order burgers and sandwiches, so I settled for chicken and bacon sandwich. I had chips for my side since the fries couldn't be made do to the fryer not working and my wife git her pizza and her chicken Ceasar arugula only salad....with chicken in it. While eating, the Bartender was talking with a coworker who was off work and they were talking about how they hate customers who do this and who do that, very unprofessional since we weren't the only ones at the bar that night. During this time I asked for 2 waters and she brought out the 2 waters but didn't take my first empty old fashion glass or my wife's empty cranberry and vodka glass. She didn't even ask if we wanted another one. Greatly prepared cocktails quenched our thirst from the Central Valley heat. Gretchen happily took our order as we enjoyed our cocktails and the western decor throughout the interior, full bar with high top seating and also outside seating under a covered patio. Our salads came out and I was very impressed with the quality of this dinner salad, delicious house made croutons were in the salads as well as fresh local produce but the pièce de résistance was the blue cheese crumbles.
