This is a great Ace especially for our town because it save a lot of time, so we don't have to drive into GR or BC. Recently (today) I was very disappointed when I was Informed that one of the owners refused to have the American flagged lower, per the President of the United States, then when others called to inform her it needed to be lowered, she tried to act as if she wasn't a decision maker....that is extremely disappointing. Me and my friend walked In with his bike to get his handle bars fixed on his bike just a quick tighten down and the manager came back tightened them down and was cussing and saying I don't have time for this shit I have a business to run and you guys can't just fucking come back here to get your bike fixed and I said all we need is for you to tighten down the handle bars real quick and we will be out of here and the. he said it cost money for me to do this. and I said that the main tech said we can just come in and fix it for free if it's a quick fix and he said well not me it cost money for dumbasses for me to fix it in the end he did it for free but was probably the worst experience at any public place in my life and I've lived In Hastings my In tier life and every one is nice but he was a jerk. read more

This Ace hardware is very helpful and has a friendly staff. That is why I upgraded them to 2 stars. The reason for the low rating is that this Ace hardware makes it so difficult to use coupons or discounts. Have a $10 off $50 coupon? It doesn't apply if one of the items you buy is on sale. Have a $20 off $100 coupon? It doesn't apply if you are buying one of 50 different name brands. This is also the Ace that does not do a veterans discount. This is the closest hardware to my house, but I am going to start driving further to go somewhere that does not bait and switch with useless coupons or a place that will give me a discount as a veteran. read more

Sept.23rd took Stihl chainsaw in for repair. They charged me $30.00 just to drop it off. They had the saw for 30 days and could not fix it. I got disgusted and went to Ace Hardware and they gave me back my saw in a plasti bag not even put back together. Then they charged me another $3.00 for gas. They did not fix it and they did not refund my $33.00. I took the saw to Vern's Repair on M-50 and they had it fixed in less than 24 hours. This is twice this has happened to me at Ace. I will not do business with Ace HardwRe in Hastings,Mi. Ever again. read more

This is a really cool Ace Hardware! LOCATION: It is on S. Boltwood St. in Hastings, MI, just minutes from I guess you would say downtown Hastings?? I was there on 5/30/2015 at around 5:00ish. STAFF: WOW, there are a lot of staff working today! Most are older but they are all very eager to help if you need it. A+++ for customer service! STORE: Very neat entrance, clean, well organized, tons of different items. Bathrooms are on the east side of the building very close to the entrance :). Hastings Ace Hardware now refuses to program car key fobs that aren't purchased from them. So now you have to buy their fob which costs $100.00 more than the exact same one on amazon. I've had amazon fobs programmed at Ace in the past. Their new policy isn't going to make me buy their fob. It just makes me go to the car dealership to get my amazon fob programmed. I told the manager this is annoying because I like to shop locally. Most local merchants understand that personal service is the one advantage they have over the big box stores. Not this manager. He simply refused to do it, even though I've been a customer for 25 years. So I made an appointment with the dealership. They said they'll be happy to do it. Ace just lost money with their new policy. read more

They have a bit of everything from paint to frisbee golf discs. If you are looking for all of your basic or just above basic hardware needs you are in luck. Staff are polite and more than willing to help. Not the lowest prices but if I need something I can usually get it. read more

(07-12-18) I ju left Ace in Hastings. Was happy to find a Dewalt countersink set that normally goes for $27 marked down to $14.99 or $9.99 with ace rewards (which I have). The set would not ring up the sale price so a manager was called over to say the sale is over and ended on 6/30. The expiration was printed on the sale sign at the bottom in fine print. So no one removed the sale sign in 12 days? They would not let me get the marked down price on the set. No apology, which would have made the situation a little bit better. Make sure you read the fine print on everything marked 'sale' at Ace. Looks like no more local shopping when I need tools. Amazon or out of town hardware stores for me. read more

Poor return policy! Will not be back. Independently owned, tried to return unopened items in original packaging with a receipt for less than $25. Would not put in their inventory because it was purchased at a different location. Brian the manager apologized for the return policy and even tried to say he was sorry that I didn't understand it and then hung up on me. Not only is their customer service poor, they would rather lose a customer over a $25 purchase than to make an exception. read more

Excellent bike shop inside! Was in town for the Barry and 45 min before the race my front breaks were not working. Three different mechanics at the pit couldn't figure out the problem, so I went to ACE as a last-ditch effort. The lead mechanic calmly took care of the issue like a pro and invited me to test it and come back if it didn't work because he had replacement breaks if I needed them. His tweak worked, and I had a zero mechanical issues race 10/10 would visit again! read more

Bought a new Stihl leaf blower from ACE hardware on September 16th, 4 weeks later the unit started acting up losing power. Returned to ACE as it was in my eyes brand new. 3 days later picked it up, brought home, acted same way as when I took it in. Returned again the same say, 10 days later called to say it was fixed. When I picked up I asked what the issue was, they claim the spark arrestor screen on muffler was clogged. Seriously, 4 tanks of gas and 4 weeks old and unit needs to be fixed. Then they told me it was going to cost me $35, seriously ? Spoke to owner and some kid as I felt I shouldn't have to pay this charge. But according to these great representatives of ACE it was my fault for using gas and I will continue to have issues unless I buy their $30 a gallon Moto fuel. First off, the manual clearly states you can use regular gas as long as it is 89 octane, I used 93 octane and the gas was 9 days old. The owner and employee truly don't have a clue about customer service or standing behind the products they sell/represent. If you want a Stihl product buy it somewhere else and from someone who stands behind their products. read more

I just moved to the area. This is the coolest hardware store I've ever seen. It is packed to the gills with almost anything imaginable you may need for your home. My wife can even spend a good hour looking at stuff. Oh, and they're open 'til 8pm most nights!!! Love this store. read more

Very disappointed with pricing. Needed a small foam air filter for my mother-in-laws push mower. $9.75! Yikes. Recultently bough it. Found same thing at Tractor Supply the next day for $3.15!! This kind of price gouging cannot be justified. I will spread the word!! Shop somewhere else. read more

If you are in or near Hastings Michigan you have to go to this store. I have never been in a hardware store this big. They have an outstanding selection of everything. I went for a new charcoal grill and was pleased with the selection and price. Everyone was knowledgeable and helpful. read more
