So my girlfriend was going to take it to a shop and was quoted over a grand. So Instead I looked on yelp and found Murphy's and requested a quote at about 10:50pm on a Friday night. I got a text to my cell phone at 11:02pm just minute's later!! He asked me what I heard and he agreed that it sounded like the starter. He got all the information about the car and said he would contact me in the morning. The very next morning he called me and got the part and was headed over to my apartment to help. He got here quickly and tested to make sure it was the starter before he installed it to save time and money. And got it installed and ready and working perfectly in about 30-40 minutes. He charged us for the part he brought for us and the labor and we ended up paying around 600 bucks when we would have been paying at LEAST twice that at a shop, and we didn't have to worry about towing the car to a shop or anything since he came to us. We were extremely happy and I'd recommend him to anyone. I believe his name was John, If I'm incorrect I'm sorry lol. But he was very good, quick, knowledgeable and convenient. This caused coolant to leak into the engine bay and could have led to much more serious engine damage if it hadn't been caught quickly. A mistake like this is concerning because the cooling system is a critical component, and something as basic as verifying that all hose clamps are properly secured should be part of every final inspection before a vehicle is returned to the customer. That said, I also believe it's important to recognize when a business makes a genuine effort to address a problem. Once the issue was brought to the shop's attention, the service manager handled the situation professionally. While the original workmanship issue should not have occurred, he did what he could to make the situation right by listening to my concerns, arranging for the vehicle to be checked over, and working to restore my confidence in the repair. No repair shop is immune to mistakes, but how those mistakes are handled matters. In this case, the initial repair fell short of the standard I expected, but the service manager's professionalism and willingness to stand behind the work improved what could have been a much worse experience. Overall, I hope the shop strengthens its quality-control procedures to ensure critical items like coolant hose connections are verified before vehicles leave the shop. First of all, when you set up an appointment, you can request a loaner car, so that you don't need to wait there for the car, and I didn't have to miss work. I also saw a different rep ordering someone an Uber for a different customer because who didn't have appointment so there wasn't a loaner available. Secondly, I originally went in for a transmission flush. While I was at work, I got a text and email of the inspection they had done. The inspection was really easy to read, and gave me different levels of recommendations for other things that needed to be done. Some things were urgent, and some things were needed soon, but not urgent, and there were some things that were for maintenance only. On my lunch break, I called my service rep, and he was able to talk me through all of the things on the report, and explain things to me, because I am pretty illiterate when it comes to cars. I ended up also getting my drive belt replaced as well. But my rep made sure to let me know what the price would before I decided to go through with it. At the end of my work day, I drove my loaner car back to Luke's and picked my car up, and was on my way. Overall, the inspection report, and the loaner car I think is what really separates Luke's from the rest. When I've taken my car to get an oil change or the tires replaced at other places, i've always had to wait in the lobby and its a waste of time. I lost no time with Luke's and knew exactly what was happening to my car. Take your car to Luke's if you want incredible service.

I took it there, with a FULL TRUST with honest local mechanic shop. Oh mannnnn, I was 100% WRONG!!!!! The females receptionists were nice, but the mechanic himself, either he's a quack, didn't know what he's doing or straight up liar. He said I need to replace my engine and quoted me $6k, and charged me $125 for a BOGUS! diagnostics. I was extremely stressed out by what's said, checked out online further, found out it could be the Head Valve Gasket, Spark Plugs and Ignition Coils issue. I find a person to replaced the gasket and the spark plugs. I studied further and decided to replace the Ignition Coils MYSELF! That's right! Less than $400, later, my car runs top of the line. Check engine light was off, and no more issue. My suggestion, either check yourself online, don't trust the mechanic shops. Also I wasted $125 for a FALSE DIAGNOSTIC. This is not a slander or defamation, because it's true. My friend who's a highly decorated vet was also there, accompanied me as the witness.

The mechanic (I think his name is Jerry) insisted he was giving me a good deal. The Kia dealership a few miles away quoted me less for the same repairs. I had also specifically told the owner and written down my concerns about my Sedona, saying I would not be interested in fixing this auto if the repairs are too much money. $2000 for a 13 year old beat auto is too much money. They didn't care or they didn't listen. Instead, the mechanic encouraged me to spend even more money by getting my tires replaced with them while my car was at their shop. I refused to let them fix a thing. And, I'm upset that they wasted my time by lying about "helping" me and giving me a good deal. Also, I wasted my money since the diagnostic charge was $115. In the end, I paid them to do nothing to my car. My impression of the mechanic and the owner is they are not honest nor do they have integrity as their sign on the building says. I found them to be unhelpful in every way that was most important to me. I also felt they wanted to argue with me about the cost of my repairs and the service they gave. That was very unprofessional. If I was closer to home I would not have taken my car here. But, I was 2 hours away from home when my Sedona was leaking coolant. If you are looking for someone to repair your car, I suggest avoiding this place. Maybe take it to a dealership and ask them if they can give you a discounted price on repairs as I did with Kia.
