Well, to start with the resort that this is located in is called LITTLE AMERICA. But they do NOT take American cash. We went into the restaurant, and they gave us breakfast and lunch menus ...it was 3:30, we wanted a steak. HOWEVER we were ten minutes early for steak. Interesting. So by the time you take the order, bring me a salad and I eat that, we would be at four right? So she does bring us the dinner menu and it is burgers , chicken burgers, one steak and salmon (not native to Wyoming.) Prices were high, and the no cash thing rubbed me wrong, and the "can't have dinner though you are the ONLY customers in the place" really did. So we left. No thanks. Keep your billboards. I nearly forgot. We had to use a CREDIT card for the $1 cone. They handed us empty cones told them to fill them ourselves. No napkins. More like ice milk. Don't waste your travel time. read more

Had a wonderful Mother's Day brunch! It was massive and had so many delicious breakfast goodies. The kids loved the chocolate fountain. I am gluten free and dairy free and I found many foods to enjoy. The setting is pretty and the service was very attentive. Lovely, spacious, cozy, comfy. The spicy chicken sandwich is incredibly delicious, one of our favorite chicken sandwiches. Large, juicy fresh crispy chicken breast, pickles, delicious aioli and bun. Disappointing experience. Little America is always a safe and sure thing for lodging or dining. This time the entire dining experience was wrong. We arrived about an hour and a half before closing, but was ignored at the hostess area for 10 minutes. Once we were seated, we saw that there was about 8 couples at tables throughout the restaurant. After 10 minutes a surly waitress came by and asked "Whaddya wanna drink?" After iced tea and a coke were ordered, we waited fifteen minutes for those to arrive... You're wondering, "why stay?" After a 14 hour drive, we were hoping it would get better... Needless to say, both of those steaks died in vain. Mashed potatoes that could have passed for Elmer's Glue... Carrots that could've doubled as tent stakes. I asked our waitress for steak sauce. She dropped a bottle of Lea & Perrin's Worcester Sauce... Severely dissatisfied experience. read more

On Thanksgiving (November 23rd, 2023), I decided to drive to Cheyenne, Wyoming, to have my holiday dinner. There weren't much options in Denver. Cracker Barrel was sold out. Boston Market went out of business. I didn't want to risk a low quality meal from Applebees. McDonald's and El Pollo Loco were open, but I wanted a turkey dinner. Therefore, I decided to make a dinner reservation at the Little America Hotel the night before. I got a time for 3:30pm. I did arrive at the hotel two hours early, and let them know about my arrival. I ended up being seated at 3pm if I can take the dining lounge. I ended up preferring it since it was quieter than the main dining room. I had a small table with a padded chair. The dinner came as an all-you-can-eat buffet. For my first round, I got roasted turkey, bacon & onion stuffing, whipped mashed potatoes, green bean casserole with mushrooms, roasted acorn squash, buttered sweet potatoes with brown sugar, and turkey gravy. The turkey was cooked perfectly, and it was not dry at all. The mashed potatoes were smoothly whipped to the preference of most people. I'm weird where I like the potato skin and chunks. However, I like its creaminess. I thought the stuffing was excellent. The addition of bacon & onions blended very well. I normally don't enjoy green bean casserole very much, but this place did it very well. The green beans were fresh, cooked properly, and topped with a homemade mushroom bisque. I thought the sweet potatoes were cooked perfectly, and I enjoyed its buttered brown sugar. The roasted acorn squash was also prepared well. That's normally something I don't have for Thanksgiving. The turkey gravy also had abundant flavor and a viscous fluidity. For my second round, I got prime rib, along with a second helping of mashed potatoes, stuffing, and green bean casserole. Instead of turkey gravy, I got brown gravy. That gravy was also delicious. The prime rib was high quality and it was cooked perfectly. It came medium rare, and I was shocked that a buffet would have steak this good. All the food was similar what one would find at a gourmet steakhouse. It was pricey, costing $94 per person after tax. However, you get mimosas (champagne mixed with orange juice) and unlimited gourmet food. For my beverages, I ordered ice water, two cups of coffee, & two mimosas. I thought the service was decent for such a busy day, and the decor was excellent. If someone in Colorado doesn't want to cook a Thanksgiving dinner, come up to the Little America Hotel in Cheyenne for a great replacement to a home meal. read more

The Hathaway lounge is located inside the Little America resort. The lounge has a bartender and 1 server needless to say their service is Very sloooowww. The decor is nice comfy chairs and loveseats great for cozy dining. The bartenders always seem as if they are over worked and just doing their job no warm and fuzzies of customer service. The food is hit and miss. Some days the popcorn shrimp looks like shrimp and some days it's pieces of shrimp. The nachos is served with real shredded cheese for those that don't want nacho cheese sauce and everyone raves about the burger however fixings are extra so if you want lettuce that's an extra $1 lol. Funny but true Today I wanted champagne they were out so the bartender offered me a sparkling white wine. Great I'll try it. Got my bill and it was $10 more! I was surprised! When I said wow I want expecting that, Carol, the bartender went to the back and let out a sigh and murmured. Talk about poor customer service. Usually, when dining out you are informed of such a big difference especially when the bar offers it as a substitute for their lack of inventory. I arrived at 9:45am today, July 16. The restaurant is basically empty, two tables sat. I waited at the hostess stand a while for someone to notice me. Then I was sat at a table and sat for about 10 minutes before the server came by. She asked if I was ready to order. I asked for water and she replied "I'll get it after I take your order". I attempted to order a bacon and cheese omelette. The server was rattled by this. "We have a new menu and you need to order what's on it". So I ordered the cowboy's omelette which is bacon, sausage, ham and cheese. Why couldn't they just omit the ham and sausage? Anyways. She finally returned with water and coffee. During this time another table was sat near me. Same experience, ignored for quite a while and then the server asked them to order drinks and food at the same time. About ten minutes later when the server was delivering my omelette, they flagged her over to see if she could bring them some water. "I'm getting it". I would hate to see what this server did with more than 3 or 4 tables. She needs to be observed and coached on how to provide better service. This meal took way longer than it should have. One the worst meals I've ever had. The arugula salad was slimy with very little beets and chèvre, no croutons. The elk, artichoke, olive flatbread was missing artichokes and olives. Gina... the best bartender/waitress in the great state of Wyoming...friendly, witty, lovely, and charming. At times she would be helping 20+ people all by her little lonesome, but always kept it cool under pressure. My partners and I just adored her! We only went to the classy, romantic Lounge, but the full menu is offered. I tried the caesar salad, chicken quesadilla, and club sandwich...nothing crazy, but everything was good enough and reasonably priced especially for a hotel of this caliber. Premium draft beers are only $4, and house wines are $6... you'd pay nearly twice as much in California. If it weren't for Gina, this place would be a 4 Star. read more

The Thursday southwestern lunch buffet was great as usual! The green chili was bomb. Really good rice, beans, and chicken fajitas fixings! Real cheese, sour cream, quac, olives, salsa, all the Mexican fixings. Delicious rolls with butter. Lots of salads and extras. And the desserts are great. It's always a much older and quieter crowd. This place is beautiful. For how upscale and swanky it is, the prices were amazing! They were offering an awesome buffet, but neither the husband or I were hungry enough for a whole buffet. I ended up ordering a side salad and a side of their mac n' cheese. We knew we needed to eat some sort of dinner but didn't want to go nuts. All of my food was delicious. I was brought a full-size Cesar salad instead of a side salad, but was charged for the side size. Score. And the mac n' cheese was some of the best I've ever had. Came with crumbled bacon in it. Oh so good. Hubby got a Cobb salad and ate the whole thing. He also got some sautéd mushrooms and said they were the best he's ever had. Our waiter was phenomenal. Nice, funny, very attentive. Nicely appointed restaurant and bar in the Little America hotel in Cheyenne. I'm sure it was due to COVID but the restaurant wasn't very busy even though the hotel was booked full. I and many others were attending an event off site. The menu is limited, again probably due to COVID. I choose a pasta dish. It was clear that the chef doesn't know how to make it as the sauce was broken. What I thought was going to be a good alfredo dish was just greasy. But the salad I ordered was fresh. Servers were new, again due to COVID. A diner at another table indicated her steak was great. But since my dinner wasn't so good I elected to eat elsewhere the rest of my stay in Cheyenne. read more

Awesome restaurant We just returned from an awesome family vacation in and around Wyoming. As we walked through the Denver airport to the rental car bus, our daughter mentioned that she wanted some "crispy turkey" for dinner. That caught me by surprise, and then I wondered where we would find some in Cheyenne a little later that evening. Steak was sure to be plentiful, but turkey? YES! One of the good staff members at the Fairfield Inn Cheyenne pointed us to Hathaway's and we are very happy that he did. The restaurant is great. A nice balance of fancy and casual; we all wore shorts, but didn't feel out of place. And yet, Hathaway's also clearly services those dressed up for dinner, and this would be a nice place for a mom and dad date night. The food was awesome - our son loved his salmon, my wife her steak, and our daughter and me our turkey... the veggies were great. We had a bit of leftovers and quickly ate them right up the next afternoon, as we made our way across eastern Wyoming. And, on the way out, we learned the story about the emperor penguin, who greets you in the entryway by the front door... no spoiler here... we'll let you discover that story for yourself. This restaurant is seriously lacking. We stopped at the lounge first and got helped by a woman who I think is named Almira (according to my receipt). She was extremely standoffish and short with us. Then, we went to get dinner. While the nachos were tasty, the prime rib was over cooked and tasteless. The wine selection was great, as well as our service during dinner. When we returned to the lounge after dinner, the same waitress served us and was extremely rude. It was a very unwelcoming experience and I would strongly recommend that you avoid this establishment. read more

Despite the fact it was a Sunday Brunch crowd, meaning I was the only one without a collared shirt or tie on service was on the ball. Food arrived quickly and it was good. It was 9:30pm and we already thought we would not find anywhere to eat dinner, when Yelp showed this restaurant as open. This used to be a destination for stellar cusine and service. Not anymore, it is now an overpriced restaurant with lousy service, more like five star prices and one star confused joint. I was treated to a birthday dinner at this place thinking it would live up to it's reputation-wrong. We waited two hours to be told our dinner selections had not been started in fact wasn't even turned in to be prepared. The server was obviously new and not well trained. My wife and I had the Sunday Brunch before the Cheyenne Frontier Days Rodeo. We had driven up from south Denver and were really looking forward to a nice meal before the rodeo. What a disappointment!!! What options they did have were tasty enough but the selection was poor at best. They need to include more breakfast food options. This is my review of Little America, which Hathaways is a part of. Since Hathaways pops up and Little America doesn't when you search yelp for "breakfast", I thought it might be helpful to repeat it here. After stopping for the night in Cheyenne I was looking for a place to eat that would be slightly less repulsive and illness-inducing than IHOP. On the way into town I had noticed Little America's huge sign by the off-ramp, advertising the unlikely presence of a "resort" right there by the I-25. It is this massive hotel / restaurant / truck stop / convention center (the Cowgirls Of The West convention was being held that day) compound, complete with piped muzak in the parking lots and neo-Louis XVI interior design. Huge! Magnificently opulent! The all-you-can-eat lunch / brunch buffet was a ridiculously cheap $12.75 including beverages, and I'm pleased to say that he food was quite good, far exceeding the lower than dirt expectations I had for lunching in Cheyenne, WY. On that day there was turkey with all the trimmings, steak au poivre, and several soups and salads. The coffee was good enough that you wouldn't blink if it were served in Portland or Seattle. The numerous desserts were overly sweet for my taste, which is good because it kept me from totally overindulging. Highly recommended. read more

We visited the restaurant for breakfast on Christmas Day and the lounge later that same evening. For breakfast we had the bagel, yogurt parfait, and banana pancakes. All were delish. Later that same evening, we visited the lounge and stumbled upon Gina. We had great drinks, great conversation, and all for quite a bargain in my opinion! Not the worst I've ever had, and certainly not bad enough to send back, but not good enough to recommend. I'd give it three stars for the decor and staff, but the food really was bland. The best thing brought to the table was the ice water. With decor that belongs in a high-end steakhouse, you feel surprisingly let down with service and cuisine that you'd expect to find in a cheap diner. Our entrées were served 15 minutes apart, a basic fundamental that even a place like Denny's manages to execute properly. I had the lamb chops extremely well done excellent, my wife had the prime rib, also excellent, we had a great waiter, no complaints, they earned a five start. We arrived an hour before close with as many patrons in the restaurant as there were wait staff, and still waited nearly 15 minutes to just be seated. When they came, the meals had some items overcooked and some cold on the plate. They were out of bread for the dinners, didn't mention it when ordering, and offered neither apologies or options. Very lackadaisical, very unconcerned at all turns. Sent a complaint to the restaurant via their website feedback with zero response. We have been for breakfast which was great but we took some friends for lunch and were very disappointed. Using the buffet the plates were cold despite being stacked in a plate heater. The waitress serving the buffet could not speak enough english to understand I was asking why the plates were not heated. By the time we had walked back to our table our food was cold and nobody seemed bothered. On the way out I spoke to the reception manager about this issue and got an apology and assurance they would speak to the restaurant manager but nothing further.
