I was very disappointed at the Cheyenne Rib and chophouse. I have been to several other locations and the service was better at the other locations.. Let's start with the food: House salad consisted of lettuce, two tomatoes, two pieces of cucumber and some nasty ranch dressing. I couldn't eat the salad because the dressing was nasty. Filet mignon was cooked to the right temperature, but it was gristly on the inside You would think being in Wyoming, you would get a good piece of piece of meat. Especially for the prices you pay. So it was like 8 o'clock at night and I sat at the bar. There was only three other patrons at the bar service was extremely slow. Half the time I had no idea where the server went. So I had to wait to get another drink. When I ordered another beer, they brought me the wrong type of beer than what I was drinking I ordered food to go to take back to my kid in the hotel room. And when I was done, eating my meal. They asked me if I wanted anything else so I asked how's that takeout order coming and the waitress commented. Oh, I totally forgot. So they did comp the takeout but had to sit there for another 20 to 30 minutes waiting for it The place was not busy, very disappointed in this particular chophouse. Not sure if I would take a chance returning

Run the other way! I was here with my family a month ago and the bathrooms were closed. So, how does the staff wash their hands? At that time, the food and service were fine. Meals were overpriced but expected for the location. It was good enough for us to return with our aging parents. Back in today for lunch. At least 15 empty tables spread out over the dining areas. I had a corner seat so I was able to see who was coming and going. I also saw several (10) wait staff standing around. I overheard the manager tell them not to huddle around the host station. So I was shocked when they said we had to wait 20 minutes for a table. When we finished lunch they still had empty tables and bored wait staff. The first photo had a couple of occupied tables and the second photo was taken an hour later when the diners had left. The new "Rodeo" menu raised the already expensive prices. Besides that, they didn't have the $19.95 Executive Lunch. I ordered the overpriced NY Strip from the new menu. They didn't have it available or several other items on the "new menu." The temperature was frigid! I'm from the south and accustomed to a/c during the summer. It's such a contrast to 90 degree outdoor heat. This was ridiculously cold, like 55 degrees. Our server said she could move us 3 tables down to see if it was less cold. But if we move she can no longer be our server. That was odd since no one was working and no more patrons arrived. She's the same one who told us "sorry, we have no control over the a/c." Only to be told by a different person they would try to adjust it. And they did. Overall, they attempted to be accommodating but I'd rather eat elsewhere! It's just not worth the hassle.

Filet mignon & perfectly baked potato were outstanding!

I love this place! I've been here a few times now and yesterday I had the best experience with Morgan (she was a total doll - kind, attentive, helpful service all the way)! I started with a delightful mocktail, moved on to perfect boneless buffalo wings, & ended with the 7 ounce filet mignon & giant baked potato for lunch. The filet was cooked to absolute perfection - exactly how I like it. The potato was delightful - it was probably 12 ounces with real butter (they have fresh sea salt grinders on the table, and that was also wonderful, as I'm a salt girl). The ambience is 100% Wyoming steakhouse which I love and honestly everything was five stars. They have a great bar and tons of parking in the lot or on the street. Go!!

Dry , overdone steak. 6oz sirloin.

In town for business and stopped here for dinner on a Sunday evening with some coworkers, based on recommendations of the hotel staff. We thought it should be good since it is Wyoming and it's steak. We ordered and it took 30 mins to get our food. It was not busy so not sure if the kitchen was slow or our server simply struggled. I ordere top sirloin medium-raresked and got medium-well. Needless to say it was very dry and you could see from the picture that it sat under a heat lamp for awhile. Very dry. Co worker ordered the same and a baked potato. Potato came out with nothing, not even butter. Very disappointed as we were really looking forward to having a great steak.

    My Manhattan was delicious.

We had an amazing dinner here, thanks to the recommendation from our hotel front desk staff. My Manhattan was delicious, the gumbo was great, our steaks were perfect, our server was amazing, and we will run back there next time we're in Cheyenne!

Note the lemon wedges clinging for dear life on that water. That's the ticket!

Great food and service! We had the sirloin steak with sweet potato soufflé and the cedar plank salmon. Both were delicious.

Salad was awful. Salmon said brown sugar, but I never had brown sugar taste so bad. Not recommended, go to Outback instead.

Then, they went into bankruptcy, and took their time to reopen selectively with a new menu and supposedly a better business plan. I waited a year until visiting after they reopened, hoping they'd have their new act together. Sorry, it's just not there, yet. Let's go down the list: #1, prices are way too high for the restaurant niche they're trying to recapture. I don't expect endless shrimp for $12.99 like the old days (which is why they went bankrupt) but a fried fish platter for $30 is outrageous for the same breaded filets, shrimp & scallops you can get in the Kroger's frozen food aisle for about $10. Then, #2, the funkytown nightclub music they have blaring feels waaaay out of place. You can't find some Island vibe music from Hawaii or the Caribbean? The music was really annoying. And, #3, just about everything is ala carte now, including salads. It's almost impossible to have a full meal, salads to desserts, for less than $50 a person. Hey, it's a Red Lobster, not a downtown steakhouse. Get real about pricing! The only good notes to report are their Happy Hour, 3-6pm M-F, to save a few bucks. And, at least the service at this Cheyenne location was courteous, prompt and very attentive. Aside from that, I probably won't be back for at least another year in hopes they start giving customers a little price break on mediocre seafood.

Neighbors and friends kept telling us that Jax flew in fresh seafood daily and, although it is pricey af, it is worth the cost. So we tried it. And dammit if they weren't right. We started with the Steelhead Carpaccio. Delightful flavors of salmon, grapefruit, and pistachio prop up the lime cream. All at once makes for a delicious and complex play on a basic Carpaccio. Mains: I went with a Crab Caccio e Pepe, a delicious creamy take on crab and pasta. Just the right amount of Grana Padano and black pepper create the underlying notes for this crab and pasta dish. Delicious. Wife N went with the Blackened Ahi. This was extremely tender, and cooked perfectly (which is to say, absolutely raw with the exception of the flawless eighth-inch sear all around). Fingerling potatoes, horseradish cream and a sweet onion jam routed out the flavors here. Perfect. Place is a bit loud, but has all the vibe you'd expect from an oyster bar. Love Jax!
