It is difficult to communicate with this business. They don't always answer the phone and often take hours to call back. I had a consultation/bid for an urgent issue and was quoted a costly repair of $6K. I wasn't thrilled, but needed the repair made. I accepted their offer, paid a $3k deposit and scheduled an appointment. At the time of the appointment, they no showed without notice and didn't answer the phone after making multiple calls during business hours. 2 hours later, the same receptionist I made the appointment with then asked if I had reached out to the technician??! Since when is that the customers job to arrange the schedule with a technician? Absolutely ridiculous, extremely unprofessional and a waste of my time. Their next appointment was 2 weeks out. I couldn't wait. I was refunded my deposit, but based on their poor and unprofessional communication, I would. It recommend them. **FYI: I was able to have my problem resolved by a highly recommended/experienced electrician recommended by a friend for less than $100 vs the $6,000 I was originally quoted. read more

I had my meter damaged in an electrical storm and I needed help fast. Haupt was quick, efficient and professional. Communication was clear and the work was done in a clean manner. I hate that I have to leave this review, since I've worked with Haupt electric several times for a number of different indoor and outdoor jobs and service calls. With that being said, my most recent experience has been a complete ripoff. My oven sparked and popped, so a local appliance guy (not Haupt) came out and was here for quite a while. He didn't end up charging me because he said it was the plug that needed repair. I then called Haupt Electrical to have them come. They were in my home for less than 3 minutes, including talking to me about the problem. The electrician literally walked downstairs said the big wide breaker was tripped (which you couldn't tell, the appliance guy couldn't even see it.) He flipped the breaker on, plugged my oven back in and nothing was broken.  They are now charging me $125.00 for the service call. I understand needing to charge to have a guy come out, but for having him here for less than 3 minutes for something they didn't even have to diagnose is steep. I'm disappointed this is how they have chosen to treat their loyal customers. Charging that much was the owners decision, and while I get charging for some sort of service call, $125 to flip a breaker your customer couldn't even tell had been tripped is absurd. Service companies are definitely not in short supply, and while I'd been happy with the previous service received this experience has left a sour taste in my mouth. I'm hoping that by posting this it will prevent someone else from being taken advantage ... all for the dollar. read more
