I've been a client at this salon for nearly a decade and love my regular colorist. However, on two occasions when she was on maternity leave, I saw another stylist who severely damaged my hair. The first time, my hair began breaking and thinning. I assumed it was due to stress or health and spent years trying to fix it--changing products, routines, and habits. Eventually, my hair recovered. After a recent color appointment with the same stylist, the same thing happened. My hair became brittle and started breaking off mid-shaft in large amounts. Every time I washed or brushed it, I lost a significant amount of hair. I contacted the salon to ask what caused it and what I should do. I was told to add a bond builder at my next appointment, avoid heat styling, and stay out of pools. There was no acknowledgment of a possible issue with the service and no resolution offered. Another stylist reviewed photos and said the likely cause was bleach applied through previously processed hair instead of just the regrowth, which can lead to breakage. I called this salon asking for a gloss, and was directed to set up an appointment for foil and roots. I received a partial foil and root touch up, that was done with semi permanent color which I was told means I need to return in less than four weeks to upkeep the hair. I have lived all over the world and had my hair done regularly in NYC, LA, SF as well as London, Miami, Zurich and not once has my hair bill been this high, $450 for a partial foil and semi permanent root color. This didn't include parking. And was told to come back again and plan for every four weeks! Not 8-10 which is normal! Hair is good,cost is ridiculous. I don't know how NE Minneapolis gets away with prices like these! Outrageous! I'm baffled! read more

Was contacted about a model call by Marlee Mckenna for color and balyage style through a fb model hair group, something I have done similar things to before. I ask a lot of questions and she answered none of them politely. Short, rude answers and did not take my information outside of fb messenger. I messaged multiple times leading up the appointment today and didn't hear a response until I was at the wrong location because I was given 0 information about the appointment even when I asked where to park?! I don't want someone who can't communicate to even TOUCH my hair let alone bleach it. I do not recommend anyone at this salon and I'm hoping to get into contact with the manager for some kind of compensation for my efforts in getting this service or it will remain a 1 star. When I arrived at the incorrect salon and the salon staff rolled their eyes at me so thus getting upset and moving the sign that pointed the wrong way into a hiding space. I did not damage anything! HAUS saved my hair! In August I went to another salon that did a super poor job on cut / color. I called HAUS and explained I had a wedding that upcoming weekend (this was Tuesday) and they were able to fit me in for a web appointment. While they couldn't get my hair to be exactly what I wanted they blended the poor highlighting job BEAUTIFULLY to get me closer to an ombré / balayage look instead of chunky highlights. I had my second appointment with them in early November. The week of they called me to let me know what my stylist was now unavailable for my original appointment but they could still fit me in with someone else that same day! They were able to do some more color correcting on my hair as well as a cut and I LOVED IT when I left. So far no issues at all - I've loved everyone I've seen so far and plan to keep going back! read more

I had been searching anywhere to get an appointment, and after hearing about how much my friend loves HAUS, I jumped online to search. After securing my appt, I patiently waited for the day to come. Upon arrival, you'll see a sign with a phone number to call to check-in. I spoke with a super friendly staff member who asked me the health screening questions and told me to wait outside and my stylist would come out to get me. In just a few minutes, Madoka came out and I followed her just into the door. My hands were sanitized and my temperature was taken. The space is absolutely gorgeous. I showed a picture to Madoka of what I was hoping for and got one of the best haircuts I've had in such a long time. She was just fabulous and friendly. All the staff were so pleasant to work with! I had very high expectations after reading the reviews. I selected this salon for weft hair extensions. I have had hair extensions many time over the years and have always had a great experience. After seeing the extensions, I mentioned my concerns about how strait the weft extensions were compared to my wavy hair. In the past, my stylist has ordered wefts that had more texture and would blend a little better. I voiced my concern about the two textures of hair not blending well before the wefts were applied. I feel like my concern brushed to the side and was told they straighten them for application and that the wefts would have more texture after my first wash. Unfortunately, two days later when I washed my hair for the first time, there was a drastic difference between my hair and the weft extensions that were applied. When I called the salon to discuss what was going on, I was told they only thing they could do was remove them. I would not recommend HAUS for hair extensions. read more

I have started my balayage in KCMO, and did my second appointment in Minneapolis. The salon was beautiful, everyone was friendly. Elle had done an amazing job to my hair. I have really dry and dark hair and she managed to lift the color, lighten it to a lighter brown/dark blonde color and my hair never looked more lively. I also got their keratin treatment and my hair feels so soft, shiny and bouncy even after wash. I highly recommend it. Elle is a fantastic colorist! read more

I specifically go to the north loop location and see Katie for cuts and Ashley W. For color and I can say it is the best experience. Not only do I feel welcome. I feel beautiful. I feel relaxed. I started going to this salon in 2020-ish after seeing in pictures how bad my red color had gotten from box dying during the pandemic and decided to commit to a salon in the cities to get it back on track. To be completely transparent, at the beginning I did not find my right fit for a colorist. I got my hair done and it was way too extreme and not my style at all, and was extremely disappointed. I relayed this information back to the salon, and within 24 hours had a new appointment scheduled to fix my color with a different stylist. It was the first time I ever spoke up about having a bad experience, but the way the salon responded was above and beyond. my color was fixed and I was matched with Hailey who I now call my Hair Angel. She truly is the best of the best giving me my dream hair and has the biggest heart! Then back in 2022 I decided I wanted to try extensions, and again the match with my extension provider wasn't perfect. I relayed this information back to the salon and was then rematched with Mae, who is the best of the best in hair extensions. I have now had the best colorist and hair extensionist for two years and I could not be happier with my hair. I have gone for many blow drys since then and now using their skin services for hydra facials, chemical peels and soon microneedling! If you have a bad experience, speak up and this salon WILL MAKE IT RIGHT. I promise you this! I have never felt so at home and at ease with the professionals I have been matched with and will stay here as long as I'm in Minnesota! I can't believe its taken me this long (4+ years) to review and I do not frequently or typically review places, but felt like I absolutely needed to write up for Haus Salon in Northeast primarily, and also their North Loop location. read more

I have been growing my hair out since the start of the pandemic and decided that I'd like to get a long shag cut. I researched places that specifically do shags and decided to book with Haus. I wasn't able to get in for almost a month, but that was fine because I wanted the cut as a birthday gift to myself. When I arrived no one offered me water, coffee, nothing. I was hoping to have some special attention since the cut was pricey. The head massage would have been 100 better if it wasn't directly under the speaker blaring loud disco music. Not conducive at all to a relaxing setting. I explained I wanted a shag, but the stylist instead gave me a typical blunt cut that I have had a million times before. I could have gotten this same cut at Juut salon for 1/2 the price, along with complimentary beverages. I guess it was my fault for not reiterating multiple times that I wanted a shag cut. I don't understand why stylists don't listen. read more

The physical space is beautiful, but more importantly the staff there is phenomenal. I followed Hailey to this location (she was previously at North Loop) to get my second partial balayage with her. I was nervous to get my hair colored after having a negative experience many years ago. The first time I met with Hailey I showed her a picture of my hair goals and she executed it perfectly. This time I asked to get my hair a shade lighter and she nailed it. She listens to you and delivers. Hailey is also super fun to chat with! The best hair salon experience OF MY LIFE. My stylist was hands down the best stylist I have ever had EVER. She was so sweet and knew exactly what I was looking for in coloring my hair. It is honestly the first time in 33 years I have left a salon happy. My hair looked amazing, only took two hours for a gorgeous balayage color and treatment (other places it usually takes at least 4), the salon itself is so warm and inviting, and my stylist was an absolute hair-god angel. How she even managed to turn my brassy mess into a silky smooth golden masterpiece I don't even know. But I will never go anywhere else again!! Love love love this place!!!! read more

Haus' "artist" Kat is just that. Not professional, clearly not trained or skilled at the service she sells for Haus. I went in to have highlights using balayage after 9 months of not being in a salon due to Covid. I specifically asked to be brighter, lightened, and to go a shade or two lighter. After (not during, if you have done this, they check the color while its in process to see how it is changing and she didnt catch anything) my 1st rinse and a decent amount of blow drying, I had to point out to Kat that my hair was not only several shades darker, but purple. I'm naturally blonde. It was astounding that at no point did she acknowledge what the state of my hair was. No ownership, offered no apologies but proceeded to say that it could be fixed to take some of the purple and darkness out which would have to follow with another treatment. Having no confidence in her, I had to ask for someone to weigh in. Haus' senior color specialist weighed in. Also, no apologies, no reassurance that everything would be ok. I left with wet hair and some packets of home fix its 2 hours and was told to call in a few days. The manager was lovely and owned it but I will not be returning and ended up paying again, in a pandemic, to go to another salon to fix it. In hindsight, I should have tried to refuse the charges for this very expense, big waste of time. Vet your staff, Haus. read more
