Poor quality service and uneven haircut: I was not impressed by this highly reviewed salon. I came in to get a very simple and straight 2 inch hair trim from Bella and it did not go as I was hoping. Bella was polite and listened to my easy request but her attention to detail and quality was not there. I came in with my hair almost fully dry from freshly washing it so she asked if I had just washed it, which of course I answered yes to. But I wasn't expecting this question to indicate that she would start cutting my hair dry. At first I was confused because at every salon I've been to, shampooing is usually included into the price of a hair cut but I went along with it thinking maybe this place just likes to charge more for shampooing and not mention that on their website or in person (and at this point I wasn't interested in paying them extra for it anyways). Then my dissatisfaction really started to kick in when I watched Bella measure my hair for evenness. When she did this, she took a part of my hair on both sides the first time really fast and with a very quick eye (possibly noticing a difference in length, I'm not really sure); then again immediately after only using her sense of touch while looking completely away from my hair altogether. Then she proceeded to snip a bit more on one side. My trusting personality started out hoping that this was just her technique but when I got home I realized it was purely lack of effort and care. Now, for paying $40 plus tip, I can't expect the best hair cut I've ever had, and apparently a complimentary shampooing either, but for such a basic hair trim, I would expect more than what I left with. Purchased a Groupon for a full foil, cut and style with Amber. Buying hair services through Groupon is always a gamble, so I was so happy to have not only a pleasant experience, but an exceptional one! The staff were all friendly and the vibe wad hip and laid back. I was offered water, soda, or a Lacroix when I arrived, and the receptionist took my coat. I felt immediately welcomed and comfortable in this salon, which was unexpected. Amber listened to my needs and looked at the pictures I offered to show her what my goal "look" was, and my hair turned out beyond my expectations! She recommended products that would help my hair but wasn't pushy about it, so I didn't feel "sold to". I will definitely be back - Amber earned a new loyal customer for sure! read more

I was referred to Pompadour by a friend who had been there and honestly I will never go anywhere else. I've seen Britney a couple times now and both my cut and color have been perfect. Bought a groupon for this hair salon which was super nerve wracking. Going to a new hair studio gives me anxiety but for some reason I was feeling adventurous. I'm so glad I took a chance because I loved the experience and can't wait to come back. When I walked in I was impressed with the cool vibe of plants hanging everywhere. It has a rustic meets outdoorsy theme and I love it. When I called to make my appointment I got super lucky with getting assigned to Brittany. I found out that she specializes in blondes so it was a perfect match. She did a beyond outstanding job with my foil and cut. She took such careful time to make sure my foils were in all the right places and a nice color to complement my natural hair. Despite being nervous the look turned out beautifully and I can't wait to go back for a touch up. As a bonus she made me feel super comfortable and we had a good conversation. If you are like me and are on here because you bought the Groupon then I hope this review helps you. The Groupon says full foil and cut. Which I have never gotten a full foil before so I was a little confused. I went into it having the impression that you could get basically any highlights as long as it's full foil. This is not really the case. You are limited and if you basically want anything else done you are going to have to pay extra. Whether that's for extra color or lightening, toning, etc.. so it's a little misleading. In the end my hair turned out as I wanted. However, just be prepared to possible spend more than what you paid for, for the Groupon. The shop is decorated very cutely. I loved the decor, it was probably my favorite part of the experience which says a lot.... Not sure if I'd ever get my hair done there ever again. However, my friend always gets her lash extensions from there which always look great. So I'd most likely go back to try lash extensions. read more

I have seen Steph for a number of years now. My first big thang with her was going from hair length halfway down my back to a pixie, to a buzzcut, to platinum pixie, to a cotton-candy pink bob, to a dark-red-to-platinum ombre, finally to a peachy-pink mermaid color wave. She never disappoints. The chat is always hella fun, and she knows what she's doing. I would highly recommend for anyone- especially if you're looking for a wacky color scheme- to go to Steph. I found a great Groupon for these guys after a friend recommended them to me so I went to check it out. I was so impressed! Adorable atmosphere, beyond friendly staff, and diverse clientele. It was busy, but not packed so it was comfortably full for a Friday morning. Everyone I saw walk out of there had seriously great hair too! I had Amber and I just loved her! Not only did we have a great conversation, but she also gave me the best haircut I've ever had! It was so much fun! It was more like hanging out than going to get your hair done lol. I couldn't make my appointment for a lash fill with my regular person and she couldnt get me in soon so I looked around for someone to do a fill, my last fill had been 2 weeks and 2 days ago so I scheduled a three week fill for one hour. Brittany did my lashes and when I she brought me to checkout, less than an hour after my start time I was charged a 4 week fill. This hadn't been communicated at all in the 45 mins I was laying in silence on her table. Luckily I could afford the difference but I've never experienced such unprofessionalism. Surely if you want to change your prices even though we stayed within the scheduled time limits, you can inform your client and ask if that's ok or do less volume for the price they booked. read more

So happy I found this salon! After having had blonde highlights for the past 10+ years, I needed a change. Being a new client, I was lucky to score an appointment with Anna, the salon owner. She made me feel at ease with the changes I was making to my hair and was super easy to get along with. I had it in my head that I was chopping off a bunch of hair and going really dark. She gave great advice and we compromised on a not-too-dark color and a not-too-short length. I am super happy that she didn't just go - "okay!" and chop it off without discussing the pros and cons with me. I was amazed at how "cheap" this was, as well! (Okay, cheap as far as nice salons go). I have paid $100+ more and have gotten way less at other salons. I am sad that I'm moving out of state but will be sure to return whenever I come back to MN to visit! I used to enjoy going to this salon, however, recently they have been cutting corners and over charging. I went in to receive a full foil and after the service was done I was rung up with a price that was higher than was reflected on their website and was not told that their prices had gone up. I called to see if we could resolve the issue as I didn't want to give up on this salon yet. However, the front desk woman kept changing her story about the prices and it felt like they were trying to pull a fast one. Then, a few days after the service when I washed my hair for the first time, the toner was basically gone (which I ended up paying $40 for) and my roots are completely showing. Not to mention she didn't put any foils in the back of my hair. This salon used to be good but it's gone down hill and they can't provide services like they used to. She does both my eyelash extensions and colors/cut my hair but she also does hair extensions which look awesome on her other clients! I went and got my hair cut and dyed after 8 years of not having it taken care of. My hair was down to my butt, and it was badly damaged. I looked on Yelp to see where I should go and pompadour was at the top of the page. I quickly got an appt. with Steph, she was very friendly and talkative and made me feel very comfortable. I showed a picture of what I wanted and she explained to me that most pictures on Pinterest are edited and it's hard to match pictures perfectly, we figured out a plan on what I wanted exactly and my hair turned out perfect. We cut more hair off than I originally had planned but it was for the best due to how damaged mine was. She gave me options on new hair products that she would recommend for me to keep healthy colored hair (she didn't push anything onto me either which I really liked) I will definitely be back into the salon to get my hair touched up when it starts to fade. I went here a few months ago and just had the best experience. I moved to the twin cities and before I moved I was absolutely devoted to my colorist. She actually helped me find Alyssa on Instagram (and said "yep go to her she knows what she's doing"). I showed Alyssa some pictures of what I wanted and what my past colorist had done with my hair and Alyssa did exactly what I wanted. She was even better than my old colorist! I am newly devoted. Alyssa was an absolute master at doing balayage, took her time, and it grew out so beautifully. So so happy with my results and I'm going back ASAP! read more
