We didn't really need a haircut for him so we opted for just the standard package that included some trimming around his face feet and tail. Thank you for taking care of our pup! I have a 12 year-old chow mix that is timid in general and especially horrified of the grooming experience. Over the decade I've had her, we've tried multiple different grooming services, and I am confident in saying that Haute Pets is the best fit for us. She's in-and-out in under an hour and a half and she hops on the truck along the route of our normal morning walk. So the stress of getting in the car, driving to an unfamiliar location, standing in a loud lobby where other stressed dogs are causing a ruckus, and being shuffled from cage to work stations over the course of 4 hours is completely negated. On top of the positive experience, the results have been fantastic. Being a mutt, there's not a standard cut to point to for guidance, so I always have to have a conversation about the specific look we're trying to achieve. Both Candace and Randi have been ON POINT as far as taking direction, understanding, and then delivering best-case results. This may sound like a basic achievement, but believe me when I tell you about how many horrible haircuts Ruby has had to go through with groomers that either weren't skilled enough or simply didn't care. Bottom line, I'll continue using Haute Pets and I am under the impression that the stellar experience is worth the price. read more

I have used Haute Pets in the past with good results. Prior to this most recent encounter, our last appointment was in July of 2022. Unfortunately, our experience in January of 2023 was markedly different and very disappointing. The groomer arrived an hour late and offered no apology or explanation. My 8yr old rescue dog has been described by prior Haute groomers as a "sweetheart," and she enjoys the attention. The groomer agreed that she was easy to groom and handle. Once I had paid the groomer and she had left, I could see my dog's trim looked more like a buzz saw had been used all the way around her neck ! Her black hair had been shaved in wide strips down to the very white of her skin. I immediately took photos to send to the business, but it was a Saturday so I waited until Monday morning to call with my concerns. I called twice and had emailed photos of my dog after the grooming. When the owner answered and had found the photos, she immediately saw the results of the grooming. From that point on, her conversation became rude and defensive. Her entire focus was on which package I had ordered ; my response was that whether it was the top package or the bottom, the hair should not have been "buzz sawed." The discussion continued until she said she would contact the groomer and call me back. That was 15 days ago. Not a word since. This is just my experience, but I will not be using their services again. read more

I had an 8am appointment. The company called the morning before to confirm 8:00am and also sent an auto text. After several calls the groomer finally showed up at 10am, drove the van in and out of the ditch in front of my house and knocked on the door with no apology or explanation for why she was 2 hours late. Today we had an appointment that we have had booked for over two weeks, and 30 minutes prior to our appointment time we received a call that they would not be able to make it due to vehicle issues. They said that they had an appointment available tomorrow at 8 am. Unfortunately my fiancé and I work 8-5 so we could not do that. Jennifer then told me that the only available appointment they have is 3 weeks away. I understand that vehicle complications happen, but they should have a back up plan for customers who have existing appointments. They did not seem to care to try to accommodate us. I specifically told them the day before that I had to be at my cancer treatments by 11:30. So, I questioned if she would be done by 11:30 and she said yes. 10:40 rolls around and still not here so I called and I heard every excuse under the sun. They basically wasted my time which was very little that I had. I told them that I was on a short schedule and everything was timed. I really don't like writing negative reviews but my past experience was just unacceptable. Terry grooms my dog and she has been great so this is nothing against her. The communication and customer service is just.... bad! I called to schedule a grooming appointment for my dog on Friday (3/29) with terry. I wish I remembered who I spoke with over the phone. She told me that terry would not be available until Thursday (4/4). Fine with me, I made the appointment for 1:30. They confirmed my cc information to secure my appointment. 3 minutes after making my appointment, I get a call back and was told, they had not made the appointment for the following week, and that I ( the customer) NEEDED to call back Monday to check to see if terry was working when the schedule was made. First of all, why would she schedule an appointment, secondly, why would it be my responsibility to have to call back when apparently the schedule wasn't made according to this lady. This was very unprofessional and after thinking about it, I decided this is not a place where I want to do business with. So I called back today, because I wanted to cancel this appointment although apparently it was never made (even though my credit card information was taken down) the lady I spoke with today said there was no appointment made, and they did not even see anything regarding this appointment on their system. And that was the last straw. Unprofessional and unorganized. Their prices are not cheap either and I do not mind paying for good service, but I will no longer ever use this service or recommend them. I have been using this service for many years and have been satisfied until today. Tiffany groomed my 12 year old dog, and I could hear him crying in the van from inside my house. I figured it was the nail clipping and expected it to end soon. He always cries for that. When it did not, I went out there to see what was going on. My dog was in SERIOUS distress, to the point that he involuntarily pooped all over the place. He was frantically trying to get out of the groomers arms and still crying hysterically. I took him from her and let him down inside my house. He proceeded to run around my entire house, crying and crying. I was sure he was injured in some way. I called my vet to see if I could bring him in, but being a Saturday, they did not have a doctor on site. He continued to run around crying for a very long time and I called the emergency vet, ready to bring him in. As soon as I hung up the phone, he got still and stopped crying. The poor thing had cried for over 10 minutes. I comforted him and he seems like he is ok right now. I am going to watch him closely today to make sure there is not an injury. After the groomer left, I got a call from someone else to take payment and discuss what happened. I told her that in my dog's 12 years of being groomed, this had never happened. She tried to tell me that because it had been so long since he was groomed and because he is 12, he behaved that way. As if it was my fault because I had not scheduled an appointment in a while, and his fault that he experienced such trauma. It had not been a very long time since being groomed - it had been a while since THEY groomed him. I sometimes groom him myself between groomings to save money. The person on the phone argued with me and interrupted me over and over. I finally said I would not be paying for the service, and if my dog did end up injured from this grooming that I'd be sending them the bill. I added that if they charged my card on file, I would dispute. I then hung up. This is the same person who set up my appointment to begin with and even in that phone conversation, she was argumentative with me about my schedule and was rude and accusatory when she asked me why it had been so long since I had booked an appointment. This experience was horrific and I'll be lucky if my dog will ever tolerate being groomed by me or anyone else ever again after the trauma he experienced. read more

I've been searching for a place to take my dog for grooming in Houston and it seems every place I try, my pup comes out frantic and anxious when they are done. I don't like that you just drop your dog off and have no idea what actually goes on while they are being groomed. I was hoping a mobile groomer would solve this problem and maybe I could watch while they worked. That wasn't the case, and so I ended up spending twice as much as regular grooming for the "convenience" (I guess) of them coming to my house. This place in particular claims to be like a spa for your dog and use fancy organic shampoos and such. Looking in the van I didn't see anything fancy and the groomer didn't make mention of any of the products they were supposedly going to use. He was friendly enough, but didn't make me feel any less anxious about handing my pup over for him to work behind closed doors while I was sitting a few yards away inside my house. My dog looked fine - nothing special, no cute extra touch like a bow or bandana that lots of groomers add. I wouldn't use them again, mainly because of the price and because they didn't offer anything different than any other grooming service. read more

I really enjoyed my first experience with Haute Pets Mobile grooming. Andrew came out to the house and my dog who will rarely leave my side to go with a stranger went right with him. She came back very clean, smelling and looking great. The deshedding treatment worked wonders on my German Shepherd. I will definitely use Andrew again. My one complaint is that it is a little hard to schedule an appointment. You have to wait for them to call you after you request an appointment which is a little inconvenient. Expect the reviews they allow on their website to be heavily filtered (to avoid ones like this). Expect to wait a few days before getting a call back about your appointment, and then expect to not be able to schedule that appointment in the next few days. Expect not to receive any form of written confirmation - no email to back up your claim that they didn't provide the service you intended to purchase. Expect to have your credit card information taken well before your appointment, with no assurance that your appointment will actually take place, no way to ensure that you're not charged prior to the appointment and no receipt. Expect a check-in call the day before, but none on the day of your appointment. (???) Expect to have a designated time when the groomer is supposed to show up, but no way to contact them directly. Expect to not have any way to contact the company when they're late for your appointment. When you call the company number, the automated response tells you that they'll get back to you within one business day - a promise of little value if you're calling to try to figure out where your groomer is once they're already late. The lack of useful communication here was upsetting. The day before check-in call seems to be for the purpose of making sure the customer is in the right place, while a normal day-of check in call serves the purpose of keeping the customer informed of any changes in the groomer's schedule. By only doing the day before check-in call, Haute Pets Mobile Grooming Salon makes its priorities clear - do business in the easiest way possible, with as little accountability as they can manage. We have been very, very long-term customers, but the service has drastically diminished during 2021. For years and years we had them visit once a month. Now they have skipped a month and then tried to visit two weeks in a row. I spoke with a woman who stated she was the owner and she was unwilling or unable to help. Haute Pets is a life-saver! We adopted a dog earlier this year (an 8 lb. Chihuahua/Lhasa mix) who is very nervous at traditional groomers. I was worried we'd never be able to have her professionally groomed! I saw the bright pink Haute Pets Mobile Grooming van driving through my neighborhood one day and decided to give it a try. I'm so glad I did!! They matched my pup with a groomer who has experience with nervous dogs, and the results have been fantastic every time (thank you Candace!!). Mobile grooming is about double the price of traditional grooming, but there is added convenience (they drive up, you hand them your pup, you go about your day, and, about an hour later...your pup is pretty again!). And it makes it possible for dogs like mine who can't go to traditional groomers to still have a professional wash and trim. For us, the extra cost is definitely worth it. read more
