This kennel/pet resort needs improvement. I was so angry today! I don't have anything negative to say about their grooming capabilities. They have good groomers. Ginger is my dog's groomer. My dog has been here quite a bit for grooming and Ginger does a good job with her hair cut. However, the kennel part of the business needs work. My dog stayed there and I brought four cans of food. She stayed five days and only ate one can of food the entire time. I was livid that they underfed her. They told me the notes say "four teaspoons" and I said there's no way we would've authorized such a small amount. She said she thought that was low. I'm like, "if you thought that was too low, why didn't you call me?!" My husband said he authorized 4 tablespoons. Not teaspoons. My dog has stayed overnight at this kennel a bunch of times. I won't be bringing her back for grooming or boarding. My dog was so happy to see me today and she ate a HUGE bowl of food as soon as she got home. She was starving. read more

Terrible ! Found this place on Google , called to confirm they board lizards. They agreed. Scheduled an appointment 4 days prior to drop off. Called the morning of to confirm prior to drop off. I arrive , I was told that they are not willing to board a lizard. Mind you I was told to bring all of his things, 50 gallon tank , lamps , food. The inconvenience of traveling 45 minutes , packing and loading all of this things to be turned away after I specifically called and confirmed twice is unbelievable. Today my day was extremely exhausting, overwhelming and mind blowing. Terrible. Do better read more

I highly recommend Prestonwood Kennel's. Making sure that my dog is well taken care of when I go on vacation is very important to me and Prestonwood Kennels has always exceeded my expectations. Before booking, i toured their facility and spoke with the boarding staff. My dog is getting older and doesn't enjoy group play time or the noisy kennel experience. That was not a problem. Prestonwood has indoor VIP Suite, which look and feel like a hotel with sliding glass doors, full floor to ceiling decorated walls and a tv. Plus, the VIP suits hallway leads directly to an outdoor area which made it easy to get my dog outside for his daily bathroom breaks and the additional walks and private playtime. In the past three years, my dog has been boarded with Prestonwood Kennels for several weekend and two 10 night trips and he has always had a nice time. Thank you Prestonwood!!! read more

I've been using this place for Boarding and Grooming for over 6 yrs and the customer service is horrible. I dropped off my two dogs for grooming services at 730 am as they suggested and 7 hrs later they were still not groomed and said it would be an additional hour and a half longer. When I inquired about the problem one of the groomers got on the phone and was rude. Then I was told by the owner there were staffing problems. It cost almost 200.00 to get both dogs groomed you would think you would get good customer service with that price ‍ I will NEVER go back and I suggest you don't waste your time or money there as well!! read more

Zeus McBride is a Pitbull. Sweetest big baby you will ever meet! I took him to Preston Wood Kennels first to board for four days. I will never go there again!! He was so skinny he was depressed. He peed on their front door when he left cause he hated that place and wanted them to know.They lied to me and said he ate all his food. When I took him home he didn't eat for two days! Preston wood kennels discriminate and won't let pitbulls play in group. After I talked to the manager and she told me yes after he is neutered he can play in group so I paid to board him when he wasn't nurtured. I got him neutered a couple of months ago. I was going to Florida this past week and I wanted him to play in group since he couldn't last time cause he wasn't neutered. The receptionist told me the manager said yeah he is a "aggressive breed" he can't play in group, but we can still board him. They tell you what you want to hear to get your money. They discriminate and lie to you. There pricing is awful! Just to board him for four days and no group play was almost 300$. When I went to pet suites I boarded him for five days and I got pictures and group play everyday it was 230$. I do not recommend Preston wood kennels. Beware of their pricing! They tell you on the phone it's $30 a day and it's $84. Guinette is rude and unprofessional on the phone, William is a drip and I doubt they really give you the services you pay for. Once we were given our dogs bed and it was returned with another dogs fur all over the bed. The place is dirty and smells the minute you walk in - If you need a clean and reasonable place to go, may I suggest Prestonwood Vet (right down the street) or Barkaway resort! I accompanied my companion, a lady of taste and refinement to this resort today, and we drove from Dallas to see a white poodle. My friend had specified it had to be white white, not cream several times. The owner brought the beautiful little puppy, who was spirited and very cute, but as Cream colored as can be. My friend said, "well, he's a doll, but he's not "my dog" Guinette Exploded, using the F word repeatedly. I was prepared to buy the dog for myself because my friend had said she bet the poodle wasn't true white. At her vile gutter language directed at my companion, she basically said, you're wasting my time and yours. "I said I agree, Let's go. I was as mad as I have ever been and never in my 61 years on this planet have I heard a customer spoken to by a business person in that manner. My companion gave her a hundred dollars for her trouble and grooming the pup. You missed $2k sale because of your filthy mouth and terrible rudeness. read more

I've been taking my furry friend to Prestonwood Kennels Pet Resort for a number of years now. I want to say that LINDA is absolutely the best! Her customer service skills are impeccable, she is always upbeat and warm and friendly. It is obvious the entire staff love their jobs. The way they handle the dogs is wonderful to see. Spent $500 for my dog to get walked every day and stay in a kennel only to pick him up with a cough, scratches on his skin. Will not be boarding here again. Talked to my vet about the place and they alluded that this place is NOT recommended and had past issues that they are aware of with pet injuries. My dog walks on a harness because he pulls but they ripped it off of him upon dropping him off and gave it to me so I'm sure with his pulling, his throat is inflamed which is why he hacks so badly. This was really the worst experience for boarding my pup for the first time. Will not return. read more

My family has had nothing but great experiences with Prestonwood Kennels! The environment is clean, the pets are well maintained/kept and interactions with the pets occur several times a day (playtime is fun to watch!). The front desk and employees go out of their way to ensure any questions are answered, and the owner is so informative and always goes out of her way to ensure we are taken care of. We had several questions the first boarding, and she and her staff took the time to explain what the daily routine would be, walked us through the kennel, and showed us all the happy pets! For the record we have 4 dogs all of different breeds (large to small), and I've NEVER experienced any discrimination by breed (the owner/employees loved all of them!), and while the owner is to the point and I've never received anything but good advice via her or her team. DO NOT LEAVE YOUR DOG HERE! My friend boarded their dog here while going on a business trip. They received a call the next day saying the dog got out and couldn't be found. Later, the dog was found dead in a ditch after being hit by a car. The kennel is negligent, didn't close a cage properly and allowed a dog to walk right out the front door. They originally claimed the fence was being repaired and he got out that way, but surveillance footage showed he walked through the lobby and out the front door undetected. This kennel shouldn't even be allowed to board dogs! Use a pet sitter instead! read more

A friend and I usually dog-sit for each other, but when she's not available to keep my energetic boys, they stay at Prestonwood Kennel. The staff responds quickly to online reservation requests and always have an opening available for us, even on short notice. Prestonwood Kennel is open 7 days a week, the drop-off and pick-up process is a breeze, and the staff is always friendly and professional (even when my socially awkward and anxious boy has a little poo accident in the lobby). When we travel out of town, we usually return on Sunday, and it's sometimes difficult to get back to town before noon. A half-day option for boarding fees would be beneficial to us, however the prices are already very reasonable compared to other kennels in the area. I've used Prestonwood Kennels the past 3 years. We've kept our english springer spaniel there at least 7-14 days. It's conveniently on the way to Intercontinental Airport. My dog is 11 years old so I opt to keep him in the senior ward. It's a smaller section, large enough kennels (lots of room) in a quieter section. He's let out 4 times daily for restroom breaks and fed twice a day. My next door neighbor works 2 miles from the kennel so I have her visit him at least 3x a week for walks. They have no problem with outsiders taking your dog out. Of course I left them clear instructions and a permission note for her. Overall I'm happy with their services, never found any issues with my dog after he's been there awhile. I'll continue to use them in the future. read more

I have boarded my dog on 2 separate occasions in the last six weeks. Each time he was boarded for 4 days. I am so pleased with this kennel. My dog seems well cared for and is happy when I pick him up! I used to pay for a pet service to come to my house but I haven't always had the best result with doing that. I wasn't sure I wanted my dog to be at a kennel as he is used to having free reign at the house. I am so happy that I have found Prestonwood-I feel very confident in how my dog is being treated. When you drop by this facility, they don't have a problem in showing you any area of the kennel - very upfront and open. This tells me a lot about how the animals are cared for. I'm hoping that we have a very long and happy relationship with Prestonwood Kennels! Oh I almost forgot - they allow you to bring your animals' stuff, bed, blanket, toys, etc! read more

Always a great visit with these guys. Our dog is always so happy to go to Prestonwood and everyone is pretty friendly. They are definitely a pricey place at $25 a night and they charge you for an overnight even if you pick up your dog in the evening. I think, if the dog doesn't stay overnight we shouldn't be charged that way. We get the rub-a-tummy's daily and we get a piece of paper back with each person describing the visit. neat bonus. I researched online, on Yelp, and in person, and this was my selected place for boarding. After two nights, our dog came out prancing, happy, and well groomed. Since he had a separate kennel with a doggy door and small run, he was not stressed at all. I took my baby here last year for boarding and my little girl came back with really bad diarrhea. I called and asked for more information because she clearly ate something she wasn't supposed to in their care. She is 12 years old and has strict dietary restrictions, which I made VERY clear to the employee. The employee who answered the phone put me on hold for 18 minutes and then they hung up. I tried calling back and I was put on hold every time, I begged to speak to the owner and they said: She is a very busy woman and doesn't have the time right now. WOW! Prestonwood is great! My dogs love to go there and I enjoy getting a "report card" about what they did at playtime. They are pricey, but you can tell the workers spend time with them by what they write and the fact that they pick up on personality traits of each dog. I enjoy knowing they are in a nice facility and are having fun when I'm away. I usually have them bathed before we bring them home and they come back beautiful! I've never seen my solid white dog so clean and fluffy. I've also taken one of my dogs there for training. Katie is great and the classes were enjoyable and pretty small, so you get individual attention. My pup responded really well to her methods and I've been very pleased with the results. read more

BULLY BREED OWNERS BEWARE! My pup and I did not get to actually experience Prestonwood Kennels. As a result of truthfully disclosing my dog's breed (Pit Bull / Rhodesian Ridgeback mix) and size (80 lbs), the owner so rudely denied allowing my dog access to their facilities. Instead, she went on to insult my puppy parenting and at one point even swore at me over the phone saying that even though she "loves my money" and "needs my money", it's these "damn bully dogs" that she's concerned about. How unprofessional! Really! Any dog lover should know to punish the DEED not the BREED! Tyson and I will be taking our business elsewhere. I have only been once and I do have a crazy active barking little dog so I accept I may not be there favorite kind of client. I was also late because I didn't realize how far the kennel was from my house. I went for the agility class. I was hoping to find something to help calm the crazy. When I got there the front staff didn't welcome me and they didn't know where to tell me to go. Someone did finally take me but she acted like it was a real nuisance. She stopped about 1/2 way to greet another dog and client and didn't talk to me any more. I finally asked and the client is the one who actually helped me find the course. Katie the trainer was nice and Timmy and I had fun doing the agility. It is $20 for 30 minutes. Basically their first impression sucked. read more

Ginger along with the manager is one of the most unprofessional set of women I have every encountered in the business ! Not only did they not call me back in a timely manner due to a bad haircut on my puppy but they refused to fix it or even acknowledge it. After the entire day of waiting for someone to call me back I went up there to show them what was done and they accused me of being drunk. Mind you all before I went up there I was on hold twice for over 20 minutes, hung up on several times, no returned calls, scheduled and then rescheduled for not wanting to fix it and then was told by Rachel that it would be taken care of. After all that of course I was even more furious because not only did I just spend close to $70 on something that I didn't ask for but I'm being pushed away due to them not wanting to fix their mishap! I received no apology or offer to help with making things right. I'm honestly in shock that after the Owner wouldn't even acknowledge any of it .....she said " well we can't make the hair grow back "! Ginger I can expect it from because she is just an employee that obviously didn't care but it's just wild that the owner not Manager couldn't even speak up knowing that this wasn't right. Her letting Ginger talk to her customers they way she does....is not the way to run a business ! I'm so disgusted and disappointed on the behavior of this so called establishment ! Well if this ever gets to owner It's sad that you let her accuse me of being drunk and coming at me the way she did. I felt not only robbed but bullied by your groomer. My puppy is like my baby so maybe you all need to take that into consideration the next time you come at paying customers like the you did. Lesson learned from this place fore sure ! read more

This is the place if you want to get a poodle from a rescue (Poodle Rescue of Houston), and they've got 'em all: standard, mini, and toy. Their standards go quick, though, so FYI. The dogs they have are great, but their organization style is poor. We adopted our dog from them, and from start to finish, it was a bit frustrating. We got our dog temporarily as a foster until she was clear of her medical conditions, but as with a rescue, stuff crops up. They have an in-house vet, so we have to take her back every time something crops up, or we pay out of pocket. We're grateful, don't get us wrong, especially now that we have to pay for all her vet visits, but from EaDo to Willowbrook? Oh Lord help us. And we're never given the complete answer: we'd have to go through several channels, and even then the explanations are varied and vague. The dog our dog was rescued with died of liver failure, so they were extra careful with ours after, but it also meant more of a run-around.The owner herself, on her last visit, asked us if we still wanted to adopt our dog. Um, WTF? Of course; if we didn't, we wouldn't have been dealing with all this, right?! Given another chance, yes, we would probably adopt from them again, but hoo boy. read more

Our 12-year old golden retriever and yellow lab love staying at Prestonwood. Unfortunately, we travel rather frequently and Jack and Sydney have stayed fairly frequently at Prestonwood for the past 10 years. We believe their excitement and enthusiasm when we pull into the parking lot is further evidence of how well they are loved and cared for by the wonderful and friendly staff. During their most recent stay while we were out of town, Jack developed a hot spot on his front leg that became infected. The Prestonwood staff immediately notified us and transported him to his regular vet for examination. When Jack's health continued to deteriorate and he ran a temperature, Prestonwood, with our approval, transported Jack to an emergency vet facility when our own vet was unable to treat him on a Saturday. Guinett, the owner of the facility, personally called us as well as Rachel and kept us informed regarding his progress and sent photos of his condition. She and her staff treated Jack as their own and nurtured him back to health. We will continue to drive from Spring to Prestonwood to board our dogs as we feel they get the best care and attention at this facility. read more

Toured the place this morning and it sounded wonderful. The staff was also super friendly. I was looking into their "social club" or doggie day camp for tomorrow and was told I could drop off my dog for a day of fun camp by an awesome staffer. I just got off the phone after trying to make an appointment and was told they don't currently have the camp on weekends. Now I don't have time to tour another camp after thinking I was going to book there. The place looked great but the information I received was very different two different times.
