From skincare to prep your skin, to makeup, to brushes, to etc. which was nice because I forgot my foundation but she had the makeup foundation I use and color! Phew, I was saved. I showed Roya what I was wearing and what I don't want and I let her do the rest. After all, she is a makeup artist and she knows what is best therefore I trusted her and she did not disappoint. Roya is great at enhancing your beauty and making sure your face is not all caked up. The hardest part for me with makeup is putting falsies on since my eyes are sensitive and I tear up but she let me know that she is great at it and I won't feel it or tear up and guess what?! My makeup was prefect! She covered all the areas I requested and prepped the makeup in case of tears. My hair was beautiful and she knew what to do to accentuate the accessories I had. Her assistants are skilled but may be off the mark sometimes. My bridesmaid's foundation was a few shades too light as she has a darker complexion. She didn't notice until after everything was already on and didn't want the artist to redo all her work. It was still decent but something to keep in mind. Don't look any further for a makeup artist as she is worth the price!

Before I found Michelle, I did one bridal makeup trial with someone else that went... horribly. It was my first time having my makeup professional done and I was shocked at how bad it was for the cost. After that experience I almost gave up hope and considered doing my own makeup on my wedding day. Several months later, I decided to look into makeup artists again and found Michelle on instagram (@michellevalentine_beauty) and I am so happy I did. Through my process of trialing two different makeup artists, I can fully recognize how talented Michelle is at what she does. Makeup, especially bridal makeup, is extremely difficult. Everyone has such unique facial features and different personal preferences on how they like different parts of their makeup done. You also want the makeup to be heavy enough to show up in photos and last the whole day, but not look crazy and cakey in person. Michelle was able to strike the perfect balance of all of these things, and was very receptive to all of my feedback on what I wanted, no matter how minor the detail was. Apart from the makeup, Michelle is a very kind and genuine person who is easy to talk to. The makeup takes ~2-3 hours so having a makeup artist you get along with is definitely a bonus. She also did a color analysis for me during my trial which was super thorough and insightful, and even covered what fabrics would look good on me. In terms of cost, Michelle's prices were comparable to the first MUA I trialed and based on my research, she is on the more affordable side for the Bay Area. In terms of scheduling, my wedding was on a Friday during busy season (May) and I booked her 5 months in advance (in December). For the trial, her weekends were booked solid so I had to do it on a weekday, so definitely try to book far in advance for a weekend spot. The trial is so important though so I would not recommend skipping it! Michelle also offers hair services but I had already booked my hairstylist a few months before I found her so I did not end up getting my hair done by her, however she has demonstrated ability in different hairstyles if you look at her instagram! In summary, Michelle is an extremely talented and kind makeup artist that will ensure you look and feel your best on your wedding day! Rest assured you'll be in good hands :)

Lol While getting my make-up done, she was conscientious that I don't like a lot of make-up, and that false lashes have historically been challenging for me to wear (I wear glasses so many falsies hit my glasses, and they irritate my eyes a lot). I wanted a soft, no-make-up look, but with a little wing eyeliner, and I showed her a photo of a bride she had done previously that looked really nice. That look, she told me, had used way more make-up than I liked, so she did her best to emulate that style on me, but in a toned-down approach.
