I messaged Roya last minute to see if she can do my graduation photoshoot makeup and luckily she was available! Roya immediately responded which I appreciated because it was so last minute and I needed to find someone and I'm glad I found Roya. First, when I say Roya has everything, she has EVERYTHING. From skincare to prep your skin, to makeup, to brushes, to etc. which was nice because I forgot my foundation but she had the makeup foundation I use and color! Phew, I was saved. I showed Roya what I was wearing and what I don't want and I let her do the rest. After all, she is a makeup artist and she knows what is best therefore I trusted her and she did not disappoint. Roya is great at enhancing your beauty and making sure your face is not all caked up. The hardest part for me with makeup is putting falsies on since my eyes are sensitive and I tear up but she let me know that she is great at it and I won't feel it or tear up and guess what?! I didn't!!! I was so shocked and amazed!!! Overall I fell in love with my makeup, Roya is wonderful and definitely someone I will return back to for doing my makeup! Okay... this review is long overdue! Roya is hands down the best makeup artist in the bay area especially working with women of color! When i was looking for someone to do my makeup for my brother's wedding, which was 5 days long, I needed to find someone who made sense money wise but also still delivered amazing results. Roya was super responsive when i reached out and her rates honestly beat everyone else i talked too by hundreds. I also have tan skin and was worried about looking over done and she really listened to the look i wanted each day and advised little tweaks that made it so much better. She ended up doing both mine and my mom's makeup for the events and honestly my mom who is 53 looked like she was in her 30s and both of us were getting compliments each day. Now what really sealed the deal for me in naming Roya the best makeup artist? Well one of the events i got my makeup done for was outdoors at 3pm in July and i was sitting in direct sunlight... you can imagine how terrified i was about looking in the mirror after the ceremony was done. However my makeup looked exactly like it did when i got it done - like honestly i was so shocked and happy! We received the pictures from all the events a few months ago and my makeup is flawless in each one. I'm normally not too happy at looking at my pics after a wedding but this time I immediately updated all my social media profile pics. Lastly I want to share how it was actually getting my makeup done by Roya. She is such a kind and happy spirit to be around - any stress from the wedding i was feeling literally disappeared when I was sitting in her makeup chair. I got my makeup done by Roya for a friend's reception. Scheduling an appointment was very easy and she is very responsive. I booked an appointment on a Sunday during a long weekend. Her makeup skills are phenomenal. She is also very quick and very friendly. She is very neat, all her brushes are cleaned between clients and she is very organized. I got so many compliments for my makeup and it lasted for 7 hours despite of heat wave that day. She was also so sweet to offer me lemonade (from freshly squeezed lemons) while doing my makeup and it was delicious. I highly recommend Roya for your special event. Absolutely superb! read more

This post is longgg overdue. Roya graciously did my makeup for my cousin's wedding back in 2018. I have been wanting to write a review but never got around to it. Roya is so great that even after 2 years later, I'm still obsessed with how she did my makeup. I have gotten my makeup done by multiple different makeup artist and I always found some fault in the way it was done. At times, my brows were too sketched in or it looked like a highlighter threw up on my face. I thought that maybe makeup just doesn't accentuate my features and I'll just have to settle with how it's done on my face. However, that all changed when I got my makeup done by Roya! I mentioned to her I wanted a soft glam look and she delivered that flawlessly. I received so many compliments on my makeup. My friends told me that this was the best makeup they've seen done on me. My eyebrows looked perfect, the best anyone has ever been able to do them. I felt so confident and comfortable in my look and that usually doesn't happen with a full face of makeup. I usually want to take it all off and wash my face but the way Roya did my makeup, it felt weightless. And on top of that, the makeup lasted me the entire night without looking cakey!! When I got home, it looked the same as it did when I freshly got it done. I had the most difficult time wanting to take it off cause I loved it so much. So thank you again Roya for glamming me up! Also, Roya recommended her friend Tamana for my hair as I didn't have anyone in mind. Lemme tell you, Tamana is a hair wizard. She did this amazing Bollywood glam hair look on me and all of the other bridesmaids asked me where I got it done. I was so surprised that the hair stayed put throughout the night even after all the dancing. Later on, when I went to undo my hair, I was surprised that she only used a couple of bobby-pins. I have had my hair done by other people and have found like 30+ pins in my hair. It's usually a nightmare to unravel but the way Tamana did my hair, I was easily able to undo it without damaging my hair. Roya and Tamana are very talented at what they do.
