I felt so beautiful and confident and it truly allowed me to enjoy my wedding day to the fullest. Most importantly, I still felt like "me" while I was all glammed up and that truly made all the difference. She also did my mom and my mother-in-law's makeup and they both looked beautiful! Before I found Michelle, I did one bridal makeup trial with someone else that went... horribly. It was my first time having my makeup professional done and I was shocked at how bad it was for the cost. After that experience I almost gave up hope and considered doing my own makeup on my wedding day. Several months later, I decided to look into makeup artists again and found Michelle on instagram (@michellevalentine_beauty) and I am so happy I did. Through my process of trialing two different makeup artists, I can fully recognize how talented Michelle is at what she does. Makeup, especially bridal makeup, is extremely difficult. Everyone has such unique facial features and different personal preferences on how they like different parts of their makeup done. You also want the makeup to be heavy enough to show up in photos and last the whole day, but not look crazy and cakey in person. Michelle was able to strike the perfect balance of all of these things, and was very receptive to all of my feedback on what I wanted, no matter how minor the detail was. Apart from the makeup, Michelle is a very kind and genuine person who is easy to talk to. The makeup takes ~2-3 hours so having a makeup artist you get along with is definitely a bonus. She also did a color analysis for me during my trial which was super thorough and insightful, and even covered what fabrics would look good on me. In terms of cost, Michelle's prices were comparable to the first MUA I trialed and based on my research, she is on the more affordable side for the Bay Area. In terms of scheduling, my wedding was on a Friday during busy season (May) and I booked her 5 months in advance (in December). For the trial, her weekends were booked solid so I had to do it on a weekday, so definitely try to book far in advance for a weekend spot. The trial is so important though so I would not recommend skipping it! Michelle also offers hair services but I had already booked my hairstylist a few months before I found her so I did not end up getting my hair done by her, however she has demonstrated ability in different hairstyles if you look at her instagram! In summary, Michelle is an extremely talented and kind makeup artist that will ensure you look and feel your best on your wedding day! Rest assured you'll be in good hands :)

When it came time for my wedding, I made a last minute change on how I wanted to do my hair. Michelle was flexible and had left buffer time in the schedule so that we didn't need to be rushed. What I really appreciate is how well they listen to your requests while also taking the time to guide and counsel you on what would work best for your hair. I was concerned about keeping my hair healthy and didn't want to go too light but also something that look as highlights, and they really understood what I was looking for. A special shoutout to Raman, who did my hair -- he was amazing! He took great care of my requests, gave thoughtful suggestions on what would suit me best, and made sure I was comfortable throughout the process.
