Came on Friday lunch with my sister, wasnt busy, only one other customer during lunch time, not a good sign. I ordered cuban sandwich, Croquettes ,empanda and she order some flank steak with rice and beans. My cuban sandwich was missing pickles and mustard, I ask if sandwich was suppose to come with (it's staple to this dish) lady employee looked at me like I was crazy then went back to the cook started complaining loudly about this, came back with small plate with sliced circluar pickles (not long deli slices used when making sandwich and old mustard Packard (yeah ones you get free at gas station and they were expired too) sandwich tasted awful, skimpy on ham and cheese was super thin, all I could taste is pork, which had no cuban seasoning flavor, like regular pulled pork sandwich, only thing tasted good was cuban bread. Croquettes was mushy and salty, barely notice any ham inside. Empanadas chicken was actually good. Sister hated her dish, said steak was tough like tires and salty too. Honestly can't recommend this place ,i ate her like 6 years ago but they've changed since , i was super embarrassed i took my sister here. What a cute place we found for great authentic Cuban food! Straight from Miami! It has a walk up counter where you order with many pastries and desserts to choose from as well. We ordered a Cuban sandwich and a steak sandwich both were absolutely delicious and on the best Cuban bread. We also had Tostones with Mojo which were awesome! It's a great rest stop for caffeine and a snack off 85 in Kannapolis. It is located in a suspect looking shopping area, but it's at the end so it's easy accessible. We stopped in for Cuban coffee for a road trip, and we were not disappointed. The worker was so kind and ensured we were on the same page with the coffees (there was a small language barrier) but my hubby got the cortada and I ordered mine with steamed milk. Just like any Cuban place you have been to. They're mostly all similar. Not the same but similar to what you find at any ornery place. All you have to do is to look at my previous pics from last year when I was raving about how great they were. They don't even make the guava and cheese pastries anymore. They told me now only guava or only cheese. Again, unfortunately now they're like you get anywhere. Still fresh though. Still tasty. But just ok. I absolutely LOVED our visit here for a family lunch. We were sat quickly and our food orders were taken promptly. We found their food to be very flavorful and truly taste home cooked which is important to my family and me. My entire family was very pleased with their meal selection. We visited on a Saturday around lunch and they had quite a bit of customer come in to purchase their pastries and delicious Cuban bread! There is ample parking as this location is in a strip mall. Leaving my family waiting for food that did not come. Not sure if they no longer utilize the online delivery platforms, but they should then remove themselves if they are not an option. I give them two stars because as a Cuban American I would hope that they can correct this. And I expect that dining at the restaurant probably offers somewhat of a better experience. In fact, I've added this place to my rotation when I'm in town. We were trying to find something out of our normal rotation of food tonight and decided to venture to a Cuban restaurant. I had eaten at this restaurants former location but this was my first time in the new building. It was large and accommodating. Everything appeared clean and it had adequate lighting. One of the owners and his wife were our servers. We ordered the roasted pork. It came with black beans, rice, and plantains. I got the salted plantain patties and my wife got the sweet plantains. We also got a side of yuca frites. Everything was delicious. The price was very reasonable and the portions were large. I kinda wish it weren't served on plastic plates- it was that good. We may be adding this to our normal rotation. We saw several menu items that we want to try. They also have fresh Cuban desserts in the display counter and they sell Cuban bread. It hasn't been easy finding AUTHENTIC Latin food in Charlotte of ANY ethnicity. So when I found this place on Yelp I was very reluctant to try it due to so many disappointing attempts. What locals in North Carolina consider authentic isn't necessarily authentic if you know what I mean! I decided to take the 20 mile drive which was a nice and easy trip with zero traffic and we were very pleased with our find! I'll go ahead and mention the ONLY negative thing we experienced, because everything else was perfect! The ventilation in the restaurant is very poor so you'll leave smelling like a ball of grease, that's it! Ok now on to the food! Coming from Miami our expectations are very high which can be a bad thing. However they definitely fulfilled our craving for Cuban food! The Pollo A La Plancha was delicious and juicy! The sides were authentically good and the Vaca Frita was also delicious! I tried a croqueta before my meal just to see if it was the real deal and indeed it was! I ended up taking home a few pastries. We wrapped up lunch with a Flan which was perfect! The prices are fair and the portions are what you would expect from a Cuban restaurant maybe a little smaller.
