Best Mexican in the local area that we have found so far. Fast, cheap, and large portions. Staff is super friendly. The restaurant is clean and nicely decorated. This is a no frills, get what you expect kind of Mexican restaurant. And the got a double thumbs up from my kids which is rare!

Meh. Best word I can use. It wasn't super clean. The menus had seen better days, and I was grateful for hand sanitizer before touching chips and salsa after picking what I would want. Which, on the menu said $9.99, but in reality ended up being $10.75 before tax. Somehow. Our waiter seemed nice, but who knows, he spoke a solid 10 words to our party of 6 the entire time. I will say, the margaritas were big! Not quite fishbowl size, but nice cereal bowl size! All of the dishes were fairly good sizes, but were not necessarily worth the cost. I also thought the rice was dry and flavorless and the salsa too watery. And, this is a small thing, but of the 6 people at our table, only 2 were given water. And when they did refill, they would only refill the glasses half way. All in all, I've been to better and cheaper Mexican restaurants.

The lunch menu is a solid Mexican lunch menu with good size servings and good prices. The ambiance was good, music was a little loud but we didn't mind as we had kids with us and they themselves tend to be a little loud. We got there at 12 and it was the perfect time to get there. By 12:30 it was pretty full but still with plenty of seating left. The burrito, tacos, guacamole, rice and beans were all delicious.

Incredible service. Inexpensive and delicious. Best tamales, too. Not really an outdoor seating sort of joint as it is located in a strip mall but the food is awesome and the bartender is super nice.

    Decent rice and beans.

My mom comes here almost every week, so when we were visiting - we just had to stop by. They sat us in the very back next to the kitchen doors. I thought it was over and we'd get nailed. Nope, the wait staff were attentive and didn't body slam us at our table each way. We started with the chips and queso. The small cheese dip served six of us very well. Plenty for 3 adults and 3 teenagers. I ordered the shrimp tacos with corn tortillas and it was very good. Fantastic tortilla taste, unique flavor, very nice shrimp. There were only a few in there and they weren't evenly distributed, but with a little rearranging, we were good. The rice and beans came on another plate. They were right in the fairway. Generally, I agree with my mother: definitely a place to come with the family. Pro-tip: Do NOT come with a party of six. They put six chairs at tables for four. If you have six you will be eating off of each others plates.

really? no review yet? how'd that happen..? maybe I'm just inattentive or something because I like ECR well enough. the biggest issue I have is most of town is between the house and here. big change for the plague is you come in through the bar (yea!) and leave out the front door. oh, and costs are up a little because, well, you know... supply chain issues? the chip shortage?? nope, just the CoVidiocy. but it's a transient thing, gone in a couple days, weeks, years... never? coming in through the bar is convenient since it puts you directly in harm's way. so amble on up and request a house marg and get a basket o' chips while waiting for the rest of your party to arrive. maybe it's me and maybe I was just too busy yapping but I didn't find fish tacos on the menu and had to settle for the lunch ACP - BTW: when this is the extent of my problems I have no problems :-) How can a person not like tender bits of lightly seasoned chickens on a bed of rice? Lunch arrived halfway through beverages and conversation and I still had plenty of large chips for dipping. truly the funnest thing about ACP is the dipability... but I'm thinking I might get the big size next time and wrap the leftovers in a tortilla california style with french fries, avacado slices, and a healthy pile o' pico. Got a tall glass of water to wash it all down (2nd marg is not advised since I'm driving,) paid and tipped the bartender, then got to finding my way back to the house. yea lunch!

Food is always good. I come here once every couple weeks or even once a week depending on the week. I've tried a multiple of items they are all good. The salsa is very good, cheese dip even better. Love the acp which is chicken with rice and cheese sauce and if in a hurry the speedy Gonzalez which is one taco, one enchilada with beans or rice. Today I got the Texmex guacamole pulesa texana which is chicken, beef and shrimp with onions, peppers, tomato over a bed of rice with cheese sauce. Very very good. Always good and cheap Mexican. It can get very busy at tim

Ate here with a group of about 18 people, the staff was friendly and accommodating and took good care of everyone. Drink orders were taken right away and fulfilled in a reasonable amount of time. We got cheese dip to go with the chips and it's very good, I definitely recommend it! The restaurant was clean and the bathroom was too. I had the acp (arroz con Pollo) it was excellent... Most places have peppers in this dish, but they don't, however adding it in was no problem. The food orders came out quickly and everything was correct. I'm not aware of any billing issues either, so it seems they had everything right the first time. It's a bit of drive from where I live, but when I'm in the area, I'll definitely be back.

Our server, Payton, was kind, provide good service throughout our meal. I ordered the fish and chips and the steak, and both were very good. The beautiful waterfront view and live music made for a relaxing and enjoyable evening. My only suggestion is for the staff who seat guests. First impressions are everything in hospitality, and I noticed the menus and napkins were tossed onto the table rather than being placed down with care. It may seem like a small detail, but it sets the tone for the entire dining experience. I work in the hospitality industry and have traveled all over the world, and I've learned that outstanding customer service is just as important as great food. Even on busy nights, those little touches make guests feel welcome and encourage them to come back.

Negative reviews boil down to the way she treats customers and the environment she promotes. But as she likes to say... NEXT .. This is bullying behavior and it doesn't look very professional. On every review platform others have been treated exactly the same. A Tip? for what exactly? The stellar service? Ruining my birthday dinner? Maybe she should pay her tip as the owner for treating customers this way. It IS refreshing to hear her defend her employees, as I have read comments by former employees she's treated horribly. My daughter-in-law simply said she felt sorry for the server working under these conditions. The owner responds to unfavorable reviews harshly. She wasn't present, didn't know the facts, yet responded within minutes of my review. To correct the account she provided: WE asked for the police after reaching an impasse. We were speaking with the manager, not "scolding" her daughter. We asked for the owner's contact information because we did not know the manager was her daughter. Once we learned that, my daughter-in-law asked for her father's information, assuming the owner might be "Eddie." It was an innocent misunderstanding. There was no shouting or harshness. Two steaks were overcooked. We intended to pay our $197 bill; we never refused. The police can confirm that. We never saw a receipt, only the total on a check. The claim that we refused payment is false. The fish remake offer came much later, after escalation, not immediately. I've written over 69 reviews in 14 years, and only four have been one-star reviews. This is the only review I've had to edit in response to untrue claims. We chose this restaurant to celebrate despite locals warning us about bad experiences. The menu looked promising. Most of the food was fine; the issue was service. As long as everything goes perfectly and you don't complain, you'll probably be fine. We were seated on a side patio in direct sun with no shade despite having a very fair-skinned infant with us. We asked to move and were reseated inside, even though we had requested a lake view, believing this was the only patio. We were not told there was a shaded back patio. The hostess made it feel like an inconvenience. Our server later explained seating is based on server quotas, not guest preference. We rarely saw our server; expo delivered most food. When I spoke to someone in a "Staff" jacket about seating (later identified as the owner's daughter), she turned away without engaging. The issue escalated when both steaks were overcooked twice. After another wait, a manager arrived who had been shucking oysters nearby without acknowledging us. Her shirt was soiled, which raised concern about presentation. She said inconsistent steak cooking was not something they could control. The steak was remade, but still overcooked. Because it was my birthday, my husband waited to eat with me while others started. By the time my replacement arrived, his fish sandwich was cold and no longer served at an appropriate holding temperature, which raised concerns about food safety. We again asked to speak with someone and were told it was the owner's daughter. We said we would pay for everything except the overcooked steak and cold sandwich. She refused. Because we could not resolve it, we asked for police assistance. Employees stood near the front door though we had never refused to pay. The sandwich was later offered to be remade, but by then we were ready to leave. The issue was never payment. It was poor food quality, poor service, and refusal to correct a reasonable complaint. The steak was eventually removed from the bill. The issue came down to a cold sandwich and the expectation that a party dining together should eat together. When mistakes happen, acknowledgment matters more than excuses. I have dined worldwide and rarely experienced service like this. After reading other reviews, I noticed a pattern of the owner dismissing feedback and responding defensively rather than constructively, which may explain the low ratings. Aside from this restaurant, we had a wonderful visit to the area and found other great restaurants. I only wish we had read reviews beforehand. The police told us the owner said we were no longer welcome back. OH Darn.

Seaboy absolutely delivered. From the outside, the building is understated and looks more like it belongs near the beach at Oak Island. Once you step inside, however, it is clean, classy, well-appointed, and charmingly coastal without being overly themed or tacky. It feels like the premium restaurant it is. We didn't make reservations because we arrived at 4:30 on a Friday and never expected the place to be completely slammed that early. Jackie, the hostess, took our name and phone number and promised to call as soon as something opened at the bar. Since there wasn't much room to wait inside, she encouraged us to relax in our car. Sure enough, about 15 minutes later, she called and made sure we got the first two available seats. Samantha, the bartender, was both an excellent server and a talented mixologist. She was friendly, welcoming, and attentive, somehow keeping up with all the drinks for the dining room without allowing anyone at the bar to feel ignored. I told her I wasn't much of a drinker but gave her the name of a liquor I enjoy. She created her own cocktail for me, and it was a solid 10 out of 10. Could I walk in and order that exact drink again? Probably not. Would I trust her to surprise me again in a heartbeat? Absolutely. My wife started with a shrimp appetizer that she said may have been the best shrimp she has ever eaten. I had the Caesar salad, which was the only part of the meal that was merely okay. It was beautifully presented, generously portioned, properly dressed, and topped with excellent cheese. Unfortunately, the dressing lacked the bold, savory punch I expect from a great Caesar. Our entrées, however, were phenomenal. I ordered the swordfish, and it was so good that my wife essentially took it over because she liked it even more than the seafood pasta special she had ordered. Fortunately, her rich, cheesy seafood creation was outstanding, so I was perfectly happy with the trade. I polished off her meal, then finished whatever swordfish she left behind! We ended with the deconstructed Key lime pie. It was flavorful and enjoyable, although, like the Caesar, I felt it could have used just a little more refinement. At one point, the chef and owner came out to the bar, shook our hands, introduced himself, and thanked us for coming. He stayed for a little friendly conversation, which was a genuinely nice and personal touch. Those minor critiques aside, the service, food quality, atmosphere, and hospitality were all excellent. Seaboy has immediately become one of our favorite choices for a premium meal, and the overall experience was absolutely five out of five. We will definitely be back soon. To those about to nosh, we salute you!
