Always a treat when I get to come here (I live in Harrisburg). My friend, who used to live in Miami swears this is the best place in the greater Charlotte area to eat authentic Cuban food. But this day I got a special treat and met the owner. In the five minute conversation I learned so much and have fallen even more in love with the place. I try something different every time but my weakness is the pastelitos. EVERY single time. Service always makes me feel at home. This day I was not disappointed between Lexie and the owner. Miami Fusion is one of Denver's Latin food spots. This joint has lots of Caribbean food options and a nice bar to have a beer or mixed cocktail. Their owners are great and staff is well trained and always very perky (must be the expresso!). Here's my three things: 1) Come for the Lechon Asado, stay for the newly opened bar area with all kinds of tasty drinks 2) Hit them up for Lunch as nothing beats their Cuban or Media Noche sandwiches and their rice and beans sides are fantastic. 3) This should have been #1 since it starts the day but come in for a Colada (expresso and sugar) matched with a guava pastelito (pastry) and thank me later. Our first time here & we will be back! My husband had the Chop Chop, cabbage salad and I had the Cuban sandwich and maduros. The flavors were yummy and portions were large, so we had enough for another meal. We have a couple of "fancy" Cuban restaurants that we frequent in Charlotte, but the food here is hands down the best. The service was excellent...friendly & attentive. I keep hearing how great the food is here and I was finally able to try it myself! When we walked in, we were greeted quickly and seated. I decided to order the guava juice and it was so good! I also ordered a chicken empanada and that was also good. For my meal, my mom and I decided to split the Cuban chop chop which is a huge bowl that has rice, beans, lettuce, tomatoes, pork slices, and a yummy sauce. The first thing that stands out about this place is the friendliness of the staff. They say hello and smile the instant you enter. With today's fast-pace rat-race vibe for most people, this was refreshing. The atmosphere is also authentic. It's Miami Cuban themed. Despite this restaurant being small, it feels homey. As far as the food goes, the Chicken-Steak was exceptional. The white rice was just rice. Flavored rice would have been more satisfying. Maybe I ordered incorrectly on that. The tostada also didn't do much for me but I like that poppin' taste of a good bagel when it comes to bread products. Don't get the wrong idea, though. It was very easy to tell that their main dishes has tons of taste where the flavor pops! Focus on that, not bread and white rice. Also, they're going to be adding a bar here. My wife and I tried this restaurant for the first time because we've heard nothing but good things. Ordered online and picked up. I got the Cuban Philly and she got the Cuban sandwich for dinner. I don't know if we got the remnants of the lunch food but both sandwich's were insanely dry! HORRIBLE. My jaw hurt so much from chewing I could only eat half. She only ate half. We were NOT impressed. Not only was the food bad, but it made us both sick. She got very nauseous and got diarrhea. For $35, food should've at least been edible. Oh man the food here is so good. We split the medianoche, ropa vieja, and tres leches. I was introduced to Cuban Sandwiches a number of years ago when we went to the West Coast of Florida and fell in gastronomic love with them. The Cuban Sandwiches in Tampa are slightly different that their cousins in Miami but I like both of them. This place is small and fills up quickly so I normally get my sandwiches to go. It was this way during the pandemic and I've simply keep doing the same since I only live 5 minutes from there. There are two sandwiches that I recommend. The first is the Cuban Sandwich and true to it's heritage, it's made with Pulled Pork. Excellent choice. Another good choice is the Miami Sandwich Cuban Club. Like a normal club, this one comes with Ham, Turkey, Bacon and Swiss Cheese piled high and then into a Panini Press. Can't comment on the other offerings because each time, I come back to one of these two. read more

Needed a quick bite delivered during the workday and saw this Cuban cafe on DoorDash with amazing reviews. I decided to try the Cuban sandwich and the beef empanadas since they seemed to be very popular. When the dasher dropped off my order, I was pleasantly surprised that the restaurant had sealed the plastic bag handles with a label for safety. I appreciate that, because sadly we live in a time where sometimes the thought crosses your mind that the person transporting your food may have tampered with it for whatever reason. Not only did they seal the carry bag, but both paper bags inside that contained my order were stapled closed too. The food was hot and just as good as the other reviews suggested. The empanada was very flavorful and the Cuban was not only delicious, but the meat was very tender. The portion is also pretty healthy. I will have to venture out to Denver to visit the restaurant myself and try some other things, but I'm definitely pleased by my DoorDash experience. read more

All the components where there and blended together beautifully! I enjoyed that this sandwich did nit get soggy on my drive home, the bread held up very nicely. There were good ratios of pork, mustard, pickles, and cheese. My husband was jealous he did not get one of his own, but luckily I shared.. I could really only eat half of this before being completely stuffed! It was so good, I am tempted to make the 40 minute drive up there just to get another one. Nice to see a unique restaurant in the Denver area offering tasty Latin/Miami style cuisine. This place reminds me of several spots I've visited in Miami. A bit unassuming when entering, but full of charm and tasty food. As soon as you sit down, you are created by lovely music playing over the speakers, and a friendly server. If it wasn't the middle of the afternoon, I would have tried a coffee or shake, but settled for the Miami Sandwich. It was a substantial sized sandwich, definitely a good value. The ingredients were fresh, and the bread crispy with just the amount of flakey-ness. I also saw the loaded fries, and the Cuban style burger, both of which looked equally appetizing. My husband and I had an early dinner one Saturday at Miami Fusion. This is a very casual place, with a bright decor and fun music. We ordered a beef empanada to share, I ordered the Vaca Frita for my entree, and my husband had a Cuban sandwich. The beef empanada was really good - perfectly seasoned, and at $2.50, this was a good value. It did taste like it was pre-made and then reheated, however. My $13.95 Vaca Frita was delicious. It had a good portion of fried, shredded beef topped with sautéed onions, and was served with white rice, black beans, and one side. I chose the fried yucca, for a $1.50 up-charge. The rice, beans, and yucca were very good, but I did have to pay $.50 for a sauce to go with the yucca. I do think the entrees should come with one sauce of choice, given the prices. My husband's Cuban sandwich was huge and very good. He would have preferred more mustard on it, but I'm not sure if that is how a traditional Cuban sandwich is served. His $11.95 sandwich didn't come with a side. Our server was a bit inattentive during our visit. Even though we were her only table, she was continually visiting with the manager (or owner?) in the back, and needed to be reminded by him when we were done eating. We ended up taking half of our meals home, so the serving sizes are good. And the food was just as good reheated as eating it the first time. While I do think our items were $2-$3 too high for the casual atmosphere and service, the quality of the food speaks for itself. We'll definitely return! read more

Fairly new spot in Denver, NC that I stumbled on (Thanks Yelp!) while sitting around with my stomach growling wanting something beyond the same ole, same ole for lunch. My wife and I both love Cuban food and were already happy that Suarez Bakery got a little closer to us with their Optimist Hall outpost and now it's Miami Fusion Cafe even closer! It was not a hard sell to get her to say yes to a to-go order and we opted for a few things to try on the first go-round. Lechon (Cuban roasted pork) and two sandwiches, Pan con Bistec and a traditional Cuban. All of it was delicious with the Lechon being the star of a very quality show. The place is fairly small with about 10 tables inside and a couple outside. Inside every other table is blocked off for social distancing and the staff all had masks on with distancing dots on the floor to indicate where to stand. I'll close with a touch of quality service... The order took a little longer than expected and the young lady working the register made me a mango shake and handed it to me with with an apology for the wait. Nice! read more

I was really impressed with both the sandwich and empanadas. The empanadas were done really well. Flakey on the outside and delicious on the inside. In terms of the Cuban sandwich I was impressed. The sandwich itself was a good size. You are definitely not going to be hungry. Good flavor but most importantly, the bread was spot on. That is something that can make or break the experience.
