A GREAT place to kill an hour or two, watching a game and chatting with the "regulars" who are there every day. Don't be intimidated, they don't bite! I walked in, said hi, sat down for a smoke in one of their many comfy sofas (that you can easily fall asleep in!) and was unwound a bit from a long day at work. You won't meet a nicer guy than the owner Maurice either. Definitely going to send them all the business I can when buying my cigars and supplies. There's another smoke shop a couple of miles down but it's not as friendly as Havana. Today I walked into Havana Cigars slightly intimidated by the lack of knowledge I had on cigars. As I walked in I noticed a few men sitting smoking their cigars and I greeted them and to my surprise they returned that greeting. From my experience most people in Los Angeles keep to themselves or their group. So I was surprised to enter such a welcoming atmosphere. The owner then approached me and I explained my situation saying I was new to cigars and was looking for something easy to smoke for my first time. He was extremely helpful showing me a few of the many cigars he had on display, explaining why they were good, some origins of the cigar, and giving me details on each one. He seemed very knowledgable. I was interested in buying a cutter and lighter and he told me to try my first cigars and see if I liked it before investing in either one. I thought this was a nice gesture considering most people would have jumped at the chance to take my money. He then cut my cigars as well as teaching me the correct way to cut a cigar, then he gave me wooden matches to light my cigars. I still have to yet to try one. read more

I drive from Sherman Oaks to get my cigars from Havana because they are supreme quality and offer a wonderful selection. Great Spot. Maurice owns the place and is as nice a guy as there is. Great selection as well as Maurice really knows cigars. The people that hang out here are pretty friendly as well. Wireless Internet access helps. The parking can get a bit sketchy though so be patient. Overall though, great spot to kill some time with a great smoke and some nice folks.
