I love going to Haven Cafe! The highlight for me is the Haven breakfast sandwich. It's seriously so delicious and perfect, I order it every time I go in for breakfast! The coffee is also solid and I love the overall vibe! I have been there for breakfast, coffee, and later in the evening for drinks. It turns into a cute cocktail bar with some good drinks, so it's fun any time of day. The employees are also always incredibly nice and welcoming, which is always appreciated (: I will definitely be going back, maybe next time I'll even branch out and try something new. read more

Checked out Haven Café as part of the Milwaukee Coffee Crawl and had such a nice experience! I tried their ube latte, and Aria did a great job customizing it according to my taste. I came here, first time, on a whim since it's close to where I reside and I always walk by it. I was out and about earlier in the day and wanted to have a nice sit down meal for myself. I love sandwiches and knew I had to try the pastrami. It was fantastic. I've been trying to cut back on caffeine and I instead went with one of their refreshers on the menu. It was I believe and 'Blue and Grapefruit' - and that wasn't my favorite as someone who doesn't really care for grapefruit that much. I got it thinking it would be diluted a bit, SO, if you like grapefruit, I'm sure it's perfect for you. I also got a peanut butter oreo pie and wish I took a picture of it...but I devoured it too quick to even think about it. For me, that dessert was the definite highlight of the cafe. I'll definitely come back on more weekends when I have a craving for pastrami. read more

First time here. It was a cold morning, so I stopped in for a hot beverage and something to eat. Food: For not being a coffee shop, they have an extensive menu of hot and cold beverages. I ordered a London Fog Tea Latte, with a little lavender and a little vanilla, in a mug. The barista did a nice job and gave the tea a good long steep. It had excellent flavor, and the temperature was right (about 140°F). It would have been even better with a bit more foam on top. For bakery items, they had a big pile of large cookies (cowboy?), but not much else. The food menu is a little sparse but has some good options for breakfast or lunch sandwiches. I ordered a Cubano sandwich, which turned out to be an excellent choice. It came out hot, with nicely grilled bread and savory meats inside. The roasted pork was especially tender and flavorful. It came with a small container of slaw, which was a little uninspiring. Service: The person who took my order and made my drink did a nice job. She took her time and did a good job with the drink. I appreciated that they delivered both the drink and the food to the table. She was a bit soft-spoken and a little hard to hear with the music playing. Efficient, but not especially outgoing. Atmosphere: The space has a bit of an industrial minimalist feel. High ceilings with the mechanicals in plain sight, along with colorful paint and design elements. Seating can accommodate groups of different sizes, though there aren't too many spots ideal for couples. The space can be a bit echoey, and the volume of the music could make conversation challenging at times. It's a nice spot for groups to hang out, and there was a larger table where people were working and collaborating. A decent spot for hanging out at lunch or later in the afternoon. read more

Very friendly service and a chill atmosphere. You would never know this is a newer building because it feels old and established. It has a 70s macrame vibe. Nice place to grab a spot and do some reading or writing. There are several tables set up in the European communal styles Sort of like an indoor Biergarten. I have driven by a few times and wanted to check it out - so when a friend suggested grabbing breakfast there, I was down. First of all, I did not expect to walk in to see a room with such high ceilings and great natural light! I also didn't realize they had a bar in addition to the cafe. So, yes, it's a cafe with coffee and beverages you'd expect. But it also has alcoholic beverages. The food menu is a bit brief, so it's not a hearty meal, but works as a light meal or snack. Seating inside has a few couches and several long picnic tables. They also have some outdoor seating in front of their entrance. read more

Really awesome space with high ceilings and soo much natural light! They open early for coffee and breakfast and late for cocktails. This place is perfect for any vibe you're feeling whether it's just a quick run for coffee, a working space, or even a place to grab drinks after work. They recently just opened and are still getting into the grove of things but definitely come out and show your support! I love trying new cafes so when I heard about Haven I was excited to check it out. I ordered a matcha latte (I asked the employee if theirs was any good and she said yes) unfortunately it wasn't my favorite. I also got a breakfast sandwich on an English muffin and the yogurt parfait . I liked that there were different bread options depending on your vibe that day. I enjoyed my sandwich although both the food and drinks did take a while to come out. I wasn't a big fan of the parfait. Overall though this is a really cute place. I like that it's kind of day to night with the bar and the space has comfy couches and some long tables that would be great for working or communing. read more

Great vibe in a cool setting - high ceilings, big windows, great music and nice layout of tables and sofas for whatever you are wanting to do - chill, socialize or get work done. We had an AirBNB for our Halloween anniversary at the Nova and this cafe was right below us, a perfect location. Folks there were super nice and even helped with recommendations with our orders, breakfast and late night :-) I wiiiish I had the name of the lady that wore the blue sad clown costume. On a sunny day, the abundant windows must do wonders for the place. Not that it really needs it, though were the place entirely empty, it's not obvious that it would present itself as a viable location for a cafe (and bar). The style is roughly 1970s or 1980s hip college student union cafe/bar. The long tables in the middle are a nice communal touch. High ceilings and urban view outside add more atmosphere. Very good coffee drinks at reasonable prices. Breakfast sandwich was excellent; hash browns were ho-hum. Charming workers. Will definitely be back. read more

The baristas were in such a rush they were slamming lids on cups like it was a speed challenge, and I couldn't unsee one of them casually scratching his crotch mid-shift. This place is perfect. Love the laid-back vibe. You can be more social in the main area, where there are giant tables and ample lighting, or honor your introverted side in a cozy nook.
