    Caramel mocha

What a lovely coffee oasis in Milwaukee's lower east side. Stopped by here on a Saturday morning for bites and the hope of an espresso drink. Since it's winter, their seating options are somewhat limited, but we were able to get a hightop table (right near the heater no less!). I ordered a caramel mocha made with almond milk. What a lovely beverage. Their espresso is clean and smooth and of the highest quality. Neither the chocolate nor caramel were overly sweet--it was delicious. I got their M40 commuter breakfast sandwich. It comes with egg, sausage, smoked ham, pepper jack cheese, and house made cheese sauce on a toasted english muffin. I had them nix the ham and swapped out the pepper jack for cheddar. I think the house made cheese sauce must be pepper jack based as they didn't add that either (no biggie). It made for a basic but tasty breakfast sandwich. Their space is amazing for summer with plenty of outdoor and indoor/outdoor seating. I can't wait to come back in the warmer months. The only slightly bizarre thing is there is also a Nomad bar on the corner (about half a block away). I'm sure it's part of the same biz but is definitely separate. We wandered in there looking for coffee (our mistake). So, if you find yourself in a bar, exit and go down the block/side street a bit and you'll find it! Get to it!

Burrito was full of flavor and delicious. Also ordered The house coffee which had a pleasant taste. Service was good. The place was pretty busy for a weekday and very chill atmosphere.

Best grilled cheese sandwich I ever had! Wide breakfast menu. Wish they had decaf coffee offerings. Recommend!

Morning after Summerfest required a strong coffee and breakfast. Nomad supplied. Great coffee and food- wonderful outdoor setting.

A friend from across the country had a smoothie sent to me as a surprise. I had never been to Nomad but after one sip of The Pitch Smoothie I knew I was hooked. This is a health-smoothie, not a j*mba juice sugar bomb, and it tastes as such. I prefer the taste of a healthy, fresh, delicious smoothie. 5 stars from me, can't wait to check out more smoothie options.

We were able to sit outside and enjoy a fabulous breakfast. Seems like a hidden gem because not many people were there.

I love the location of this restaurant, a cozy little nook set apart from the business of downtown but still so accessible! With events happening at the fiserv and new music venue in the deer district, it was a welcome reprieve from the action. The restaurant itself is lively but chill - is there a word for that!? lol very laid back, friendly and informed staff. We were able to snag a seat at the bar which was great - it's probably got 12-15 seats. Full dinner service too! My husband got a mezcal old fashioned (not on the menu) and I got a spicy margarita. Both were great! As for food, the menu is eclectic, but everything looks and tasted great! We got 2 appetizers, the bruschetta and stuff pepper - both were delish!! And then we shared the braised beef risotto topped off the night with a spirit free strawberry Fresca & churros (SO GOOD). Great experience for deciding last minute and getting a walk in spot.

First time coming here…read more Food: The menu has a lot of excellent choices. The drink menu features plenty of specialty cocktails, and I took our server's recommendation and ordered the Whisky Paloma, which was an excellent choice. I loved the chili dust along the rim. If you like pizza, they have an interesting selection featuring ingredients such as peaches, figs, and bacon. It was hard to decide, but I ended up ordering the Burrata pizza with grilled peaches, arugula, and honey. It was very good and would have been even better with a few more grilled peaches. I also ordered the grilled octopus because, if it's on the menu, I just have to try it. It was very good, along with the accompanying roasted potatoes. I prefer my octopus well grilled and firm, and this preparation was a bit softer than I would have liked. We finished with the tiramisu, which was a little disappointing. It was both very cold, as though it had just been thawed, and a bit soggy. Service: The service was very good throughout the evening. We were seated right away, and our server did a nice job of getting us settled in. The drinks and food arrived surprisingly quickly, and we felt well attended to throughout the meal. Thanks, Robert! Atmosphere: The building is a gem, with old brick on the outside and a modern, relaxing design on the inside. There is a foyer where guests are greeted and can wait for their tables. The wood wall treatments and lighting are inventive and upbeat. The many hard surfaces make the acoustics a bit loud, but we were still able to have a conversation comfortably. Overall, it was a very good experience. With a bit more attention to some of the final touches on the food, this could have been an even better experience. We would enjoy coming back again.

I was also excited to try this place because we have had Calderone club (same ownership) and we love it. We also enjoyed their special pasta and the eggplant fries. Everyone was silent during dinner as they were busy enjoying. The Margherita pizza ($20) has a generous amount of fresh mozzarella and a perfect layer of sweet-leaning tomato sauce. The Maria Carmella pizza ($25) was layered in a well-balanced prosciutto and arugula combo. However, the star of the show was the espresso martini which was thick and creamy, just how I like it! The tiramisu was a fantastic balance of sweet chocolate and bitter espresso. The service was slow, however it was a busy Saturday night during peak dinner rush which is to be expected. Servers were friendly.
