After enjoying the sites and Estuarium in Washington, we knew we had to try Havens. A walk-up pizza window... how clever! They've got ordinary pizzas as well as creative ones. We tried General Tso's - with its lightly breaded chicken, tiny pieces of broccoli, and sweet/spicy sauce, this was a winner! We also tried the Spicy Honey. It was nice, and not too spicy. It was a beautiful day, so we grabbed one of the plentiful picnic tables and enjoyed our pizzas outside. The folks were super friendly and were happy to hear we enjoyed our food. (We have roots in New Jersey and are picky about our pizzas. These passed the test!) I loved the slightly chewy/slightly crispy crust. Can't wait to return! read more

I'm originally from Boston so I'm used to "Italian Style" pizza from the East Coast. I've lived in NC right outside of Raleigh for 18yrs. This pizza is the best "NY style pizza I've ever had here in NC. When I first try a pizza place I always only get a cheese style pizza because anyone can doctor up a pizza to make it taste good. Their cheese pizza made my toes curl that's how great the pizza tasted. The crust was perfect!You would think you had it delivered from NY. If someone from NC told me this was a great pizza place I would probably not want to try it. No offense Southerners, but if someone told me that this place had great pizza and was from the East Coast (Boston, NJ, or CT) I would give it a go. A buddy of mine from NJ told me about this place and he was right best pizza place in all NC and probably in the South. This is the best pizza I've had since visiting NY city. The crust is perfection and the cheese and sauce devine. I had a pepperoni slice and Pepsi. It is directly beside Pitt Street Brewery. It is take out only so ambiance really not applicable. Get you a slice and look at the Pamlico River. You won't regret it. read more

This is an outstanding new pizza shop in Washington and such a welcome addition! This is truly craft pizza and blows any other pizza in Washington out of the water. (I no longer have to pick up pizza when I drive through New Bern). From the excellent crust to the quality toppings, it surpassed expectations. The team working there is super friendly and efficient, thankfully, because they are doing a high volume of business. They have only been open for two weeks and I've never not seen a line and they seem to sell out daily. After finally sampling today I can see why. Bonus, there is a nice breeze coming in from the water while you wait, plus potentially a beer if Pitt Street Brewing is open. read more
