In our case our trip was a retirement celebration where my wife and I wanted to visit all 4 main islands and this was a huge expense with a lot of moving parts including hotels, cars, and all the mainland and inter-island flights. Kara at Hawaii Aloha Travel did a fantastic job for us. Everything about our 16 day 4 island trip went like clock work. The flights all worked out well, the rental car process was painless, and all of hotel/resort accommodations met or exceeded our expectations. One concern that I had going into the trip was whether there would be a lot of unplanned out of pocket expenses and I very pleased to say that all of the Resort and parking fees changed at each resort was exactly what Kara said to expect. We will be going back to Hawaii to spend more time at our favorite two islands of Kauai and the Big Island and with out question we will be reaching out to Kara at Hawaii Aloha Travel when we do. I have worked on several occasions with Lisa, who has been nothing short of phenomenal as a resource and committed travel professional working overtime to ensure as fabulous and trouble-free a vacation experience as possible for myself and travel companions. Emails and texts, last minute adjustments, patient answers to questions, and excellent communication despite whatever is going on in her own life have really impressed me. She does her research and chooses hotels, experiences, etc carefully. Recently, on an impending trip when planned transportation fell through, her company (or maybe she herself) took it upon herself to cover the transfer. I was floored. Kara helped get me set up for my trip to Oahu, Kauai and Maui. The flight, accommendations and car rental was booked. Unfortunately with the fires in Maui and I was traveling with people that had medical conditions that could not handle the smoke Maui was canceled. She helped us readjust our trip and add excursiones. She was available for any and all questions and helped when one of our excursiones was canceled due to routine maintenance and not having the flexibility to reschedule. Not reliable! I called and talked to an agent for about 20 mins - they told me I'd get info by email the next day. I waited four days - nothing. I called back and talked to Grace. She said it was unusual this would happen. I spent another 20 mins giving her the info - she said she'd email (for sure) the next day. Well...two days passed, and I finally got the email (with only a few things I asked for) She said in her email only two tickets for first class remained and I should act quickly. I answered her email with a few questions...silence. Nothing! I resent the email after five days - again, nothing. If you decide to book with this company I'd say good luck - too many red flags for me!! read more

So we booked our dream trip with "Grace" from Hawaii Aloha Travel in May. Downhill from there. My bank account proceeded to hemorrhage money. I called & emailed MULTIPLE times. No response. Finally left an irate email before I got a response from Yahling Fischer. She attempted to "fix" Grace's mess. Had to postpone trip after my husband had 3 heart attacks in June. I did speak with Grace about this & she was supposed to handle this. I attempted 6 times since 7/21/21 to contact Grace without response. I am now in the process of trying to CANCEL the trip. In hopes of whiddling down the numerous options I find online for a Hawaii trip, I enlisted the help of this trusty little site. Ha, me REALLY thinks NOT. List of problems (span within 2 days): 1. website says the company's preferred method of communication is via email. YAY! Right up my alley. But all shot to hell once I get home and listen to a message on the answering machine from the assigned agent Ashely. Hi, didn't you already email me today? Why you callin? 2. MULTIPLE emails with only one package option at a time. In my mind, wouldn't it be more efficient and time-saving to look for multiple options for presentation, THEN sending it to the potential customer for review? 3. After rejecting all options presented, decided to "help out" a bit and provide more background info to the agent. "Trip for my boyfriend and I, do not want to stay in a cheesy themed hotel, very familiar with the hotels in the Waikiki area." I get no more options sent to me, but rather I get two separate emails. "Will you book with me," and the one that put me over the top "that's the best in the price range you provided." WTF??? YOU EFFIN KIDDING ME? Ok, so I provided the agent with a RANGE. To me, range is the midpoint and reasonable deviations from the midpoint would be options. Why did I not get any options above the range provided? Hmmm. And then when I decide to just continue on with my own searching (with a polite little email saying thanks for your time, but I'll continue the search on my own), I get a very unprofessional email saying "it's not nice to waste a travel agent's time." OH HELLLLLLLLLLLLL NO!!! A) Nowhere on the site does it state that one is obligated to book. If I didn't feel like I was getting anywhere with the agent, I wouldn't have to use them. Which was the case here. B) COMPLETELY UNPROFESSIONAL and RUDE to send that comment to me. Bad look for you, and bad representation of your company. Hi, and I did notice that instead of a regular email response, I get a response from the ever-so-popular Blackberry (I own a Blackberry, I'm aware of the damn "sent via blackberry" disclaimer) with a different name than that which I've been corresponding with. I ain't stupid thanks! C) Being in the corporate world, I have become increasingly aware of the craft of which bitching emails are composed with such grace and fervor, that the true intent within the message is relayed perfectly...and might I add, without being bitchy. I live in the UK and had no idea Bruce (the owner) and his team could get me to Hawaii and find me some great hotels with a much better service and price than expedia whom i had used on previous trips (5 previous visits) HAT organised our honeymoon to Waikiki and the North Shore and then over to Kauai, so 3 different hotels (something expedia etc cannot do) They arranged lots of special treatsw for us too, such as bubbly at the hotels, a gorgeous lei greeting at Honolulu , an announcement and champagne from the flight crew on our way out of my local airport to amsterdam for the flight to the USA. We knew if we had any problems during our stay, a friendly voice was only a local call away and not to some huge corporate office in india or wherever! The activities our travel agent selected were spot on, as was the lodging, food, and transport. However, the customer service was extremely lacking. Halfway through our vacation our reservations were changed. The last half of the week our itinerary was wrong, leaving us sitting outside waiting for a ride that didn't have us scheduled for another hour on two occasions. In addition to that, one of the restaurants did not receive the $260 dining credit we were supposed to have, and contacting Hawaii-aloha took several hours. read more

We had a wonderful vacation in Hawaii because of Bruce's recommendations. The hotel was great, but the real highlight of the trip was a personal food tour with Lanai Tabura. Lanai's style was to take us to little hole in the wall places we never would have otherwise known about. Ok, So as we began our decided trip to Oahu, We contacted Bruce. We have emails and our trip was verified for nearly a year. I wanted to take my wife of 25 years to Oahu, specifically Turtle Bay. Bruce was willing to help and we set that up. Our trip for April 2021 was closing in so I began looking around and I learned that the Turtle Bay resort was closed for remodel. I called Bruce and left a Voice mail, then followed that call with an email. 10 days passed before I received a call back ( actually 4 days before we were due to depart Dallas) , and Bruce informed me of what I had known. He placed us in Ko Olina at the Marriott Resort. It is NOT Turtle Bay! Our trip is over and we are at the Airport ready to depart. The trip was indeed a nice Hawaiian vacation but , NOT Turtle Bay. Bruce did say that we could postpone our trip and wait until TB was opened but, that is not our 25th Anniversary which is also my wife's birthday. Trying to get in contact with Bruce during our trip was met with delayed responses and half answers as we look ahead to our next trip. Ko Olina is a nice area but forget about good food and be prepared to do some moving around to find something to eat. We paid for Turtle Bay and ended up with a basic hotel room with King size bed that I could have booked at nearly any hotel anywhere. Be advised that if you book through this Travel Agency, you need to be aware of what you are getting. The one consolation is that I was stationed on Oahu 32 years ago. We rented a Jeep and I took my beauty all over, including the North Shore where we enjoyed the food trucks (Da Bald Guy) awesome and Teddys Bigger Burgers burger in Old Town Haleiwa, ( we actually hit this spot twice cause it was SO good) I suppose I should not complain but again, Marriott is NOT Turtle Bay no matter how you spin it. read more

Unfortunately, my husband and I did not have the best experience with Hawaii Aloha Travel. We worked with Bruce to set up our three island visit for our wedding/honeymoon. At first, I was beyond happy with the deals that Bruce was able to get us, and he always communicated with me in a timely manner. Once we paid off our trip, it was like a switch turned off and everything changed. He wouldn't respond for days and days, and we had timely requests where we wanted to confirm cars were booked since booking cars has been insane on the islands. I finally called him and he was incredibly short and rude with me on the phone. It was extremely upsetting, especially since we had paid SO much for the trip of our dreams. It only got worse... I had asked to book a luau in Kauai on a certain date in august, and because luaus werent open, they decided to book a luau in Maui which happened to be our wedding day! They supposedly canceled it, but then I woke up to voicemails and missed calls asking where we were from the luau. Bruce and Yaling said they could book us tickets to view Pearl Harbor, but I had to double check everything since I realized they only booked one ticket, and not 2. To top that off, when we visited Pearl Harbor, the ranger came up to us and said HAT does not have a permit to be booking reservations on our behalf. He was nice and let us in, but I would have been SO pissed since we only went to Oahu so that we could visit Pearl Harbor. To say the communication was lacking is an understatement... I had to follow up several times with them when I would look at itineraries because either the days were wrong, car bookings were missing, etc. We were incredibly disappointed with the overall customer service, which is unfortunate because we really wanted to love them since we visit Hawaii every year. Website does not reflect prices for specific dates. Left a voicemail that was never returned. When I called during regular business hours, the agent seemed disinterested in helping me book a trip. I had to repeat myself at least three times for a pretty simple e-mail address which she must have still botched since her price quote showed up neither in my inbox nor spam mailbox. The agent eventually became slightly defensive and confrontational after I inquired into the details of the trip she proposed. Remaining very polite, I told her that it was okay to put me on hold and she instead just hung up on me. read more

My experience with Abby started out great. She booked a trip to Maui for my parents and I accomodating my request to have us fly from different cities and meet up on a connecting flight. Everything was great until we got to Maui. Our 2nd day there, the AC went out at the Royal Lahaina "resort" she booked us at. Abby nor the management and staff at the resort seemed to care much or offer any type of accommodation for our inconvenience other than we can checkout within one hour and pay MORE money to move to a new hotel. I was NOT going to be penalized for someone else's poor management of their facility. After getting irate with the manager, she finally moved us to another location but at no point did Abby follow up for the four days we remained in Maui to see if there was a resolution to the problem, if we moved, were compensated, or offered anything. I didn't hear from her until almost a week later once I returned home. I am a professional in the Sales industry and this isn't how you handle clients at all. Thankfully I was forceful enough with management to move us without any additional money or else my family and I would have spent 4 days in a miserable "resort". Also, I don't feel Abby made the best effort in explaining what activities were available, the cost, and planning. We met Troy from Aloha Concierge who worked at our new location (Kaanapali Villas) and he did a magnificent presentation that provided great insight on making the best of our trip. Because of him, we enjoyed several activities at great prices. I will not use this company when I return to Hawaii nor will I recommend them. Unfortunately, in a service industry, the bare minimum doesn't cut it. read more

Covid circumstances aside, the vacation planning prior to us leaving went well. Bruce Fisher did a pretty good job of finding ways to ensure everything we were looking for was included. He stated that we could contact him during the trip if anything went wrong...HOWEVER... the day we were suppose to arrive, our flight was delayed by a day. I reached out to Bruce and he stated he was going on vacation and that I would need to reach the main office. I was on hold for 2 HOURS before they picked up. Then it only got worse. 2 of the events we had scheduled by Bruce were booked outside of Hawaii Aloha Travel's knowledge, and the company told me I would have to figure out rescheduling them on my own, unless I could reach Bruce. I had to spend another hour contacting those businesses and rescheduling our events. Lastly, when we went Kayaking, the guide asked us to provide a receipt of purchase, which was supposed to have been supplied by H.A.T. Luckily, they gave us benefit of the doubt and said they knew Bruce and would speak with him! I will compliment their Private Circle Island Tour! Excellent experience with the guide, Travis! Honestly though, the amount of inconvenience and hours on the phone could have been avoided had I planned the trip myself! read more

Very poor communication. I've been trying to get my refund for a trip I had to cancel and it's been OVER 2 weeks. My husband and I booked our 25th wedding anniversary trip with Hawaii Aloha Travel. This was our first trip to Hawaii so we definitely thought it would be beneficial to book through a travel agent located in Hawaii. Great concept but the agency was mediocre. Our agent booked us at a Luau that had been canceled at least one month prior, even though two weeks prior to the trip my husband talked to her to confirm our itinerary for the entire 10 days. She said everything was all set. We showed up to the Luau but a private party was being set up instead. We got our money back and paid for another Luau already in progress. It was more expensive, and no preferred seating left. Our agent gave us an insincere apology via email and was clearly not bothered by this huge inconvenience and extra cost. Also, don't believe in upgrades, even during their slower seasons! First night on Maui we overlooked the tennis courts. The second night they moved us to ocean view but could not see any of the ocean because of all the palm trees outside our window. Our agent was certain an upgrade would be given during the time we were there. Bottom line, I would not use this agency again. We called her with these two issues and she seemed put out. I don't think she did a very thorough job on our trip, just kind of a text book planner. Look around, I'm sure there are many other travel agencies in Hawaii that will do a better and more careful job of planning your trip. read more
