Email from Owner Chip showing original Chest Price $150.

Unfortunately I had a horrible experience consigning with this shop. I do not recommend placing your items on consignment here find a different place! I made the mistake of consigning 2 hand carved Hawaiian chests. I was sent an email from the owner Chip informing me he would sell my large chest for $150 and the smaller one for $75. (Screenshot attached with the item number). This was a reasonable price to me. However a month later I received my payment summary showing that my chest sold for $50 and $75. (Screenshot attached of payment summary). I double checked my emails and phone call log to see if I had missed any messages from the shop but found none. The shop has my email, and my phone number on file due to me emailing and texting photos of the items I wanted to consign with them. I went down to the shop in person thinking this must be a mistake or clerical error. I spoke with a salesman who was nice and apologetic for the situation but informed me I needed to speak with Chip the owner. He said he'd let Chip know about the situation and I should expect a phone call that day. After 5 days I never received a call so I called the store and was told Chip the owner was not in. The sales associate again was nice and looked into who sold the chest. He informed me that the record shows Chip the owner sold my chest for $50 and not $150 it was no error. I asked why he would sell it for a $100 discount without my permission?? He said he would have Chip call me. A week later I still never received an explanation or apology from Chip. I emailed Chip on 7/10 about the issue and still no response. So far a bad experience, I wouldn't trust consigning with them again.

Decent little place. Large selection of chairs and nightstands upstairs. Parking is easy.

The Best of Everything - Hawaii's Best 2022 The readers of the Honolulu Star*Advertiser voted the following Hawaii's best: 1. Bakery First Place - Liliha Bakery My opinion: I love Liliha Bakery but it is hard for me to believe that Leonard's Bakery was not even considered a finalist. 11. Fast Food First Place - Taco Bell My opinion: Not sure how and where they counted votes but I think they didn't count the mail-in votes before publishing. It is insane that McDonald's wasn't in first place or even a finalist. 20. Korean Food First Place - Kim Chee II My opinion: I can assure you that they didn't ask real Koreans what restaurant they thought had the best Korean food. How can Yummy's be better than Sorabol, Choi's Garden and So Gong Dong? There are 156 categories but there should have been 158. How can they leave out: 157 - Fresh Seafood First Place - Tamashiro Market My opinion: Most reliable place to find fresh seafood in Honolulu. Always packed with Polynesians and Filipinos from all over the island. This seafood and grocery store has been No. 1 amongst locals since 1946. I also think there should be a 158: 158 - Consignment Store First Place - Hawaii Consignment Center My opinion: Hawaii Consignment Center is the best consignment store in Honolulu. They just moved to a very visible and convenient location at 1901 South King Street and have plenty of parking in the front of the store. The store is two stories, jam packed, full of desirable used furniture and collectibles. The only consignment store in Honolulu that deals with used furniture. From a buyer's perspective, they sell gently used furniture and treasures from all over the world. I've seen American arts and craft and Victorian furniture, Knoll Barcelona chair, Corbusier lounge chair, Hermes folding stool and cushions, Chinese Qing dynasty furniture, carved koa furniture, Persian rugs, artwork by artist likes of Dali, Picasso, Madge Tennent, Luigi Fumagalli; Mid-century modern lamps, Hawaiiana, Pre-Columbian artifacts, Qing dynasty porcelain, Japanese Meiji period furniture; and other interesting collectibles; have pass through this shop's doors. I find things here priced to sell! From a seller's perspective, this is a great place to get rid of bulky furniture when downsizing from a house to an apartment; transitioning to your more minimalist retirement style of living; and make some money, instead of donating your once prized treasures, accumulated over the years, to Goodwill or the Salvation Army. Been a buyer and a seller here and the owner Chip Buchmiller are honest, personable and comfortable to work with. Useful tip: For the best deals, always better to deal directly with the owner Chip. Staff here are friendly and accommodating and as a side note "Michael Jackson" works here! Hoo!! He's smooth, he's bad ...Shamone. He's bad, bad really bad! Shamone!! The rest of the staff includes the talented fixer and muscleman of the store, Mattai; and part-timers Anna, Mark and Ken. Open Sunday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Thursday, Friday and Saturday from 10:00 A.M. to 5:00 P.M. New inventory here are consistently being moved in or out and constantly changing, so it's worthwhile visiting this place at least once a month. Don't know what all of you thought of the Star*Advertisers, Best of Everything - Hawaii's Best 2022 but for me, I thought the selections were lacking, puzzling and surprising. The insert and results seemed to have been a tally of votes of people that just moved from the mainland and are now living in a Howard Hughes Development high rise in Kakaako. All I can say is for me, if the Honolulu Star*Advertiser publishes the nonsense I saw in their Best of Everything insert, they should not be a finalist in 159 - Local Newspaper, Hawaii's Best 2022. Even they recognize they are only a one star newspaper by putting a single * between Star and Advertiser instead of Star*****Advertiser.

Mahalo for this awesome Danish dining set!

Jeffery is awesome and helped me sell some furniture I acquired when I bought a new home and also helped me find some beautiful antique pieces to go in the new house. I highly recommend the Consignment Center for both purchasing great pieces and selling items you no longer have a place for.

This place is a hidden gem! I felt myself go back in time as a child. My grandparents had a lot of the furnitrue that was available. The staff was friendly and even shared dad jokes. (I do enjoy a good dad joke lol). My friend did make a purchase and prices did seem reasonable. I enjoyed walking down memory lane as well as learn some new things with some of the items that were here. My favorite part was ringing the gong. That was totally cool! This place is the place to go if you want some timely pieces in your decor.

I feel lucky to find this place. I wish I found it earlier! The Consignment Center is a great place and may be the only one in Hawaii. This store is located across from Kahala Mall in the building that was previously Golden Duck Kahala, which was terrible, Chin's Kahala, which was very good, and famously Tony Roma's, which is too many years ago for me to remember. It's the first driveway after you pass Kilauea, and there's several parking stalls. The inside is a mess with items all around. You can get dizzy with all the items around and the smell of old furniture. This store sells quality furniture, paintings, antiques, collectibles, and other vintage items. All of the items are co-signed, obviously, with the owners of the items. The store takes 50% of the sold price. So if you have furniture and other items you want to sell, they are able to come pick them up and sell them for you. It's a great way to sell your things without the hassle, but you'll only get half to what you might normally sell it yourself. That is, of course, IF it sells. The prices are ok. Some items are priced very good, and some are just ridiculously expensive. The good thing is that you can bargain! So you can get a great deal. I was in the market for drawers and night stands, and we found some very beautiful ones of a particular wood at very good prices. This type of furniture are very hard to come by, and with all of its stores that sells them closed, I need to go through Craigslist or Facebook marketplace, which is very troublesome. So I feel lucky to find it in one place! The staff here are very friendly and courteous. They'll never pressure you into buying anything. Instead, they'll help and work with you to get the best possible outcome. Space is limited, so they want to sell as much big items as possible so they can bring in new items. I must admit I've been to this store several times already hoping to find some hidden treasure or to find a price reduction of what I want. Sadly, no luck lol.

You can find aloha shirts just about anywhere on Oahu, whether at expensive boutiques in Waikiki or in the nearest ABC store. However, the visual appeal of the shirt depends completely the eye of the beholder. With that in mind, there probably isn't any other store on the island that offers a broader selection. It's pretty overwhelming. The drawback is that the massive inventory is packed in a retail space so constrained that it can be a challenge to navigate. It took me a while to realize the shirts on the central racks are the priciest, some costing hundreds and (gasp) even thousands of dollars. There are used shirts along the wall that sell as low as $9. I wasn't particularly clear on the difference in quality, but I'll give you one guess which racks I was rifling through. The clerk explained that there were a couple racks of new shirts and the rest are vintage. Many of the shirts were produced in Hawaii. In addition to shirts, they carry an assorted collection of Hawaiian themed vintage souvenirs, antiques and knick knacks. Some of the items are pretty dusty, and had me thinking that they hadn't been moved in a long time. The prices are pretty hefty (except the shirts were reasonable). There were a number of customers scooping up shirts. I was a little claustrophobic to be honest in the tight quarters. There is no dedicated parking. Street parking is available if you're lucky.
