Nordstrom frequently has pop ups throughout the store is a wonderful help and contribution to showcase various local biz and today they did have various vendors on their second and third floor and I found Honolulu Baking Company on the third floor. As soon as I was in the eye view of the table I was instantly greeted by the delightful owner and got into all her products she had available for sale including her famous oatcake that once was available at all Starbucks on the island...who knew that they were sourcing local at one point. Feeling so blessed to have such talented bakers like her and though I didn't get the oatcake it was her cookies all dressed up for Valentines that though looked yummy...Piko Kuki Guava which is absolutely delicious and totally shareable which will be a great addition to our work flow for the Monday staff...if there's any left lol! Zarina also makes cakes and cookies. She can do honey cake (medovik), meringue roll cake, pavlova cake, and classic biscuit cake with different fillings, layers, and creams. Pick up was supposed to be from 12pm-1pm. I messaged her at 11:36am giving her a heads up that I was on my way. Arrived at 12:01pm (right on time) and she informed me that she still wasnt ready. Waited until 12:50pm and had to leave. She wrote back saying she was rushing and "these things take time". Why let me know when I drove 40 minutes to the pick up spot???? If you know you aren't able to make it by the pick up time then why not give me a different window time for pick up or offer delivery? There was no way for me to drive back to Kapolei before my daughters party. I paid $377 for absolutely nothing. She didnt even offer to drop it off to me after making me wait for 50 minutes.
