Told the owner I wanted to try their house made boba & because we came all the way from Hilo, she was able to give me a sample of what they had left since it wasn't enough to add to my drink. So thoughtful! I wanted to re-visit and try their hand made boba before we left the big island. We came back the following Friday and ordered butterfly pea type drink with fresh boba, tuna melt and an croffle that came with fresh Ube dipping cream on the side. Everything was great! The Oreo cookie is a nice touch but I think it would be better if it was crushed up and sprinkled on top. Just my opinion, still good either way. My only small complaint is the extra charge for each topping. Paying $0.50 per topping can add up pretty quickly. A couple other minor things: the lights kept turning off because of the motion sensors, and the young lady at the counter didn't seem very enthusiastic about helping explain the ordering process after we mentioned it was our first time there. The interaction felt a little rushed. That said, the ice cream was definitely good enough for me to come back again while I'm on the island for the next few days. The coffee is great, the pastries are fresh, and the atmosphere has that relaxed Big Island local charm. The pineapple provided a nice burst of tartness and the pumpkin seeds added crunchiness. Such a refreshing salad to go with a hearty beef patty. Overall, Jam Pot is a great spot for a fresh, flavor-packed lunch when you are in a hurry or just craving a warm and toasty Jamaican patty. They do have a lot of vegan options which is amazing! I love the different flavors for the shave ice--I always get what I consider to be more Hawaiian or tropical (after all, when in Rome...) Portions are large! In November 2025, I got the 3 flavor guava pineapple and all natural lychee $6 but in the past, I've also enjoyed li hing mui, guava, and lilikoi with mochi (+$1), as well as pina colada! I keep coming back and so should you!
