Best ortho ever!!! I am sooo grateful! EVERYONE in the office (front and back) is just so sweet! I love all of my visits because they all truly care and make you feel so well taken care of! Scheduling is fast and easy. Appointments are fast and easy. Their beautiful newly renovated office is just the icing on the cake too. PROFESSIONALS that saved my teeth and smile! I started my braces journey at the end of 2018. One month before being scheduled to remove my braces, I fainted and broke my jaw. I literally had straight teeth and then this happened! You can see in the top photo what they had to work with. After the fainting incident, they took me in first thing in the morning after the ER! I left them a voicemail around midnight, and they called me right away to come in! From there we continued months of braces wear and check ups during my jaw surgery recovery, and months later I'm back to normal! I cannot believe I still have my teeth. This morning I went in to remove my braces and got a buffing down of all the adhesive that kept the brackets in place for 3 years. And this afternoon my retainers were ready for installation, lessons and process. I am so please with the results and the attentive care that comes with being with them. I asked the doctor today if there was anything I needed to pay and she told me it's all included with the total I paid monthly within the first 2 years. Everything was so easy and manageable. We love Hawaii Orthodontist! We were referred to this practice by my daughter's pediatric dentist. Unfortunately for her, her teeth did not grow in straight! :( She was very excited to get braces. My daughter was scheduled with Dr. Kawamoto who is Dr. Chang's colleague. They took the time to explain everything to us including the payment plan. Also my daughter was accidentally hit in PE class in her mouth. Her mouth was bleeding and there was concern about her braces as well as her teeth and mandible. We went here for a second opinion on my son's braces. I felt like the first ortho was matter-of-fact and not personal at all. Dr. Tammy was recommended by a number of people including my son's dentist. 1. Scheduling was a breeze. Prompt response and clear instructions. Reminder texts and emails. 2. Parking easy and ample in the Ala Moana parking structure 3rd floor. Easy walk over. 3. Super friendly office staff. They were busy but very attentive. Even the nurses said hi when we walked by. 4. Communication and expertise. This was the most important factor. Dr. Tammy was kind but also able to communicate about our options given my son's particular circumstances. They also found an extra tooth that his dentist never told us about! It was efficient but also thorough. I didn't feel rushed but also not tedious. We actually laughed a lot during the exam. 5. Office manager was amazing how she handled all of the cases and calls that were going on. I didn't have to wait long for anything. Her explanation of process and pricing etc.. was clear and flexible. We immediately committed to starting the process with this office with no hesitation. I had my child's appointment date and time moved without explanation. They moved it to a different date, but earlier time where my son would still be in school. The most concerning part about this is that they did not contact me or my wife. THEY CALLED MY CHILD (who is not even old enough to have a driver's permit) to arrange the change and basically assigned him a date and time without so much a concern that maybe a parent would be the appropriate party to call. Dr. Kawamoto is my Orthodontist. I originally met her back in 2016 when I was referred to her by Dr. Kouchi (Dentist at the time) for a consult. When we got down to the financial portion of getting braces I couldn't afford it. I was then referred to her again by Ala Moana Dental earlier this year. When I went for this consultation I was happy with that I could actually afford to finally get my braces. My dental insurance is covers at least 59-60% and the rest is out of pocket. But, at $75 per month is so much more affordable then almost $275 a month. Dr. Kawamoto's bedside manner is more than words could possibly describe. She also makes sure that her patients understand the choices they make and how it could possibly affect there progress throughout. Amber, Violet, Kimmy, and the rest of the staff are an awesome happy go lucky bunch of women. I go in for my appts and man the environment is so welcoming, comfortable, and safe that it makes you not want to leave. Whenever anyone asks me who my Orthodontist is or who/where I got my braces done...I tell them Dr. Kawamoto at Hawai'i Orthodontist. I could go on and on. I've just finished my complete treatment of Invisalign at Hawaii Orthodontist. It took about 2.5 years to get through completely, so I've been to a lot of appointments. do you have crowded and/or crooked teeth. yes!?! well join the club. lol, i definitely have lived with both for a while, and if you are like me, i shoulda gotten braces when i was a child. cause due financial reasons you weren't able to then, and now as an adult are faced with the fact the you can actually save more money on dental procedures if you had straight teeth. ugh. lol. anyway, well have no fear, hawaii orthodontist is here!!!! my husband and i were referred to hawaii orthodontist by our dentist. and i can not be more pleased with this choice. i can admit... for me, getting straight teeth and the process of getting there has always been nerve wrecking to think of. but one day out of the blue, i toke the plunge and finally contacted hawaii orthodontist. when i did, it was during the middle of the re-opening of oahu after we had the shut down due to the pandemic. i had left a voice message and sent a message on their website to contact me. as i had reached out to them when the office was closed. i was contacted immediately the next business day by the most helpful and friendliest person i have ever had the pleasure to be assisted by, and she goes by the name KIMI. if it wasn't for her, and her excellent patient service, we wouldn't have moved forward with signing on to getting our teeth straightened. as from the start, kimi has been so patient with me, and has been very responsive to my millions of questions. kimi was able to help us get a saturday appointment, and we were set to come in. when my husband and i came in for our consultations, and to take x-rays we both felt very safe and comfortable. they allowed only patients in the waiting room, you were required to take your temperature before seating, and you performed a self check-in. the waiting area promoted social distancing, and they had captain marvel on when we waited. the entire team greeted us when we first entered, and also walked by them. we were both seen by dr. shellie ann kawamoto, and her assistant. she is so pleasant, makes you feel so comfortable, and provides sufficient amount of time and information to answer your questions. she gave us in brief options on what she can do to help us get the smile you we may desire. after this visit, we were scheduled for a case presentation. this is where they provide you the exact details of what you are qualified for. we opted for a zoom meeting, and met with violet. let me tell you, something must be in the water there cause like kimi, and dr. kawamoto she was very friendly, and informative. and she took the time to go over the options towards straightening our teeth. so...if you are unsure of where to go to transform your smile. you definitely need to call hawaii orthodontist and check them out yourself. they are so conveniently located in the building next to the ala moana shopping center, there is loads of parking, and their patient service is remarkable. they also offer an online portal where you can make payments. how awesome is that huh? so watcha waiting for, pick up the phone and schedule your consultation. if you are fortunate enough, you will be assisted by kimi. she's the, she's the best, the best you'll ever have. lol. read more

Hawaii Orthodontics deserves 5 stars! My family and I are in Hawaii on vacation and my son needed a intervention on his braces to correct a protruding wire. I called Friday morning and was told to come in that day and that they'd be able to squeeze him in. He was seen shortly after coming in the afternoon and the Orthodontist was able to correct his problem for just the cost of an office visit. Do I recommend this place? ABSOLUTELY! Dr Tammy and her team are professionals through and through! Not only that but the results I received after treatment were amazing! I went in looking like the guy from Goonies and came out looking maybe not as good looking Uncle Rock but a step above that guy from Goonies for sure. But in all seriousness Dr Tammy worked with me and my financial situation and found a plan that worked for me and I'm forever grateful! Was able to finish treatment 3 days before my wedding and in order to make it happen Dr Tammy and her team expedited the shipping for my final retainers which got here right on time and I was able to remove my brackets! I had never been to this clinic/office before being new to the island and when my permeate retainer became loose and at risk of falling off .. I didn't know what to do!
