While not my first time here, it was my first experience with the new doctor. Everything went by fast and smoothly, however when I felt like something was wrong or off, I was dismissed or they did it their way instead of really fixing it. I dont really give out reviews unless I find it necessary. That said, I only do so when it's bad service. When I told them it felt off, the doctor fixed it on the OPPOSITE side of where I told them, which wouldn't be a problem, but when they fixed it on the right side, it added up so ultimately it still had the same issue. Not only that, the person who was taking care of me [i didn't get her name] pinched my lip pretty hard between the braces wire and the brackets. When I reacted the first time, it hurt pretty bad. I was still a little worried when she did it again, because she pinched it a few times and it stung a bit while she put it on, I flinched. She seemed kind of annoyed at that. I felt uncared for and like they didn't care about my comfort and needs. Now I look at it, it's really uncomfortable to "rest" my mouth to look normal, and when I actually rest it the "build up" is what they called it, forces my mouth to look crooked due to uneven amounts on each side. It's slightly unclear in the photos, but it's more clear if I had gotten them from the same angle. Other than that normally it's better service, so hopefully it'll get better again with time with this new doctor, but I'm not a fan of it so far. read more

I called two weeks ago to schedule an appointment due to my permanent retainer coming out of my mouth. I had to leave a message due to them being closed for the day. The next business day, the receptionist called me back to schedule an appointment with Dr. Kitamura. I recently went last week to my appointment. As soon as i walked into the office the two receptionist looked up and greeted me with a smile. They gave me paperwork to fill out. As soon as i was done, a dental assistant came out to get me. She asked questions about my permanent retainer and wanted to see it. The Doctor then came out to check it out. They gave me the price to put the retainer back in. Which was a lot however i needed to get it done so i paid for it anyways. As the dental assistant put the retainer back in, she was awesome. She explained exactly what she was about to do. Due to me having braces in High School and having a bad experience i ain't going to lie i was scared! She talked to me and made me feel a lot better when she explained everything. It was hard to find because when I GPS, I was on the other side of the Pearl city shopping center by McDonald's. *** ITS ON THE OTHER SIDE BY THE BOWLING ALLEY!!! The entrance w/ the big tooth picture is for the kids and adults I guess would be located on the left where the housing area is and there's a blue door to enter. I had to call them to ask where they were located & trust me, they said I wasn't the only one today who called LOL When you walk in, pretty small... but the service was great. The front was busy to a DA on the side helped me out and I filled out papers. The wait to see the Dr. was about 10-15min and he was very honest. He told me step by step about the process and the DAs there we all very nice. The financial lady was nice too! I have another appointment w/ them in May to go in with my mom to discuss further evaluation. I was referred by my boyfriend's dentist to see if I could get braces and I hope I do from there because I really want to :) read more

Been meaning to bring this up & I finally remembered to make a review. Service is fine, but what gets me is that they charge a good amount of $$ for services, yet their patient waiting bench is TOTALLY falling apart. I mean, y'all can't replace it for a new one?!? It's a fake leather type of bench that makes a complete mess on your clothing. The little black bits and pieces get eveywhere. It's such a shame that after all this time, the bench STILL hasn't been repleaced. I should have taken a photo to show just how damaged this bench is. I will at the next appointment, because I'm pretty sure it'll still be there. Grrrrr. read more

I just want to start by saying that if you're looking for quality dentistry, this is the place to go! I called their office to schedule an appointment with Dr. Kitamura for braces and was able to be seen the same day. He explained everything that needed to be done in full detail, and if I had a question, he had an answer for it. I got to speak to their in office Financial Advisor about any costs and 3 different plans for payments. I got my profile with them made with photos for before and after, and X-rays, along with any issues I had prior to. The Dr's assistant, Jhey did an awesome job at explaining the process of her procedures before she started and let me ask any questions I had about what she was doing. She also played really nice music for me to help me relax. Dr. Kitamura worked fast and efficiently to put the braces on ensuring I had no pain. After my braces were put on, I was able to schedule my follow up appointment with Gina, who is so friendly, at the front desk. Overall, Dr. Kitamura, the assistants, and front desk are all so pleasant, it's clean, and everything went smoothly. 10/10 would recommend to anyone just going for a cleaning or someone needing more work. read more

My 8-year old son was referred here by KidShine Dentistry which is next door to KidShine Orthodontics. My son needed to see an ortho for palette widening, which they offer at KidShine Orthodontics. The reason why I give this place a 5 star rating is because the staff here is very kid friendly. Not only do I say so but my son agrees too. He always has a good experience here. They treat him well and talk to him in a way he understands and always makes sure that he is comfortable in their chair when he was scared getting his rubber bands in (a procedure done before getting his appliance in) and they make sure they go over the prices before proceeding with any service which is a must for me. read more

I picked kidshine because of the great reviews they had. Since we've going, my son and my daughter, our experiences haven't been like every other review. The hours I didn't realize don't work with my work schedule and I always have to take off to bring them in unless they have appts on Saturdays open. And now that my son sees the ortho, with every appt, there's always an issue that prolongs the process. Something was missed by them or something else needs to be done which entails a prolonged treatment plan and more money needing to be paid before the next visit. It's frustrating and if it were easy, I'd switch to another clinic but obviously, that's not ideal so we're dealing. read more

Dr. Kitamura's office is nothing short of amazing to put it simply. My whole family has seen him for our orthodontic care. My dad, mom and sister. I can see why he's been in business for so long. He is an amazing physician with such a great staff to help him carry out business. I always look forward to calling the office and coming to my appointments because everyone (and I mean everyone) is so friendly. Another plus to the staff is they're SUPER accommodating. I have a crazy work schedule and they're always finding ways around my schedule so I can be seen. The front desk staff (aunty Gina and aunty Deb) are the sweetest and take the time to know every patient. From the time you enter through the front door to the time you leave the staff here is very warm and friendly and treat you more like family than just another patient. Dr. Kitamura took the time to explain how the process would go and what we can expect. He was very kind, caring and easy to talk to which made us feel extremely comfortable. The receptionist will always acknowledge you when you come in even if they are on a call. When it comes to scheduling and or rescheduling any appointments, they are very accommodating. We all know that braces ain't cheap and I appreciate that the office will work with you on making a payment plan. There are no words for how much Dr.Kitamura and his team have helped me. I just completed my braces 6 months ago. Its so great to finally have straight teeth. I only wish I could have gotten them sooner! I especially love my wedding photos this year. Dr.Kitamura and his team really took care of me. I really got to know the staff and they are so nice to me and remember me by name. I had a lot of issues dentally with an underbite, cavities, and crooked teeth. Dr Mark Kitamura was the orthodontic that did my braces back in 2011. i had my braces on for a year and a half which was also the estimated time that i was told to have it on for - which was great! i loved my experience here and all of the staff members! never had a problem with my payments, setting up apartments and checking in or anything. this place made it a breeze to get in and get out. it's been years since i've been back here. the last time i was here was for a follow up after wearing retainers for a few years and they moved to a new location. i will be coming back soon to get a brand new and updated retainer bc this is my second pair and the wear and tear is back, lol. overall great experience here before, during and after i got my braces off. i highly recommend dr mark kitamura and his staff!!! read more

So I have 3 children that I always schedule all at once. I get to there and there is absolutely NO PARKING. I end up having to double park and fill put the covid questions before entering. I was outside fling it out and my time said 1:10 filling it out. I get in and the girl at the front says there is a 10 min grace period so now for being 2 min cause of the lack of parking and filling out questions they are only able to see one of my kids. They have NEVER done this before and give absolutely no care that I have to take off of work to do this. I specifically scheduled kids all at the same day and time because of this. I have gone to this facility when I was growing up and have brought my kids here because of that and now I just have a bad experience for 2 minutes ..... 2 MINUTES and she says cause they have a full schedule. Completely ridiculous and so inconsiderate to a single working parent of THREE not to mention there was a sign on the door that said they were out to lunch so I wasnt even sure if I could go in or not. read more

I have been going to this orthodontics center for many years, and they have produced positive results. Cleanings would go as expected, but my braces were the major points.
