Best food I have had in Lubbock in a long time. We live on the other side of Lubbock and we will still be back.

I wish I could leave a 3.75 star on this restaurant. The food is great ramen has lots of flavor and the fixings go great with it. If you want good ramen would recommend. My only complains are that It was a little expensive at 15 dollars a bowl. The service was alright we didn't talk much but he got the order out quick which was great. The best ramen I've ever had. It's been 3 years and I still think about it. The staff was so sweet and the portion was large and in charge.

First time here. The lady behind the counter was wearing a mask for some reason and we couldn't hear or understand her. She finally pointed to the popular dishes listed on post it notes by the register. They could certainly improve the ordering process. I had the Cajun spicy ramen. This includes shrimp, a boiled egg, chopped green onions, corn, sausage and noodles in a wonderful spicy broth. I may never order anything else. It was hot both from the stove and the spices. My wife noticed a tear or two during the process, but I couldn't stop eating it. And there was plenty to take for leftovers. The spicy edamame was an excellent appetizer too. I would like a fountain drink option with ice, but it's not a deal breaker. 4 stars for the food. read more

For the Poké bowls, I personally didn't like how big the chunks of seafood were, or the texture. But they do offer free extra rice! I was looking for something different for dinner. I love poke, and thought I'd give this place a shot. Ordered through Yelp, food was ready when I arrived. That's where the good part ended. I ordered a bowl with brown rice, spicy tuna, beef tataki, avocado, jalapeños, cucumbers, and fried wontons. When I got back to my hotel, I was a bit put off by the presentation. It was as if everything was dumped in one ingredient at a time with no thought. The rice was one big clump. The tuna tasted like it was from a can, but it was almost the consistency of baby food. There was barely any beef at all. The vegetables did taste fresh. With a lot of sauce, I finally ate some of the rice and veggies. But 80% was thrown away. read more

Ordered to-go (during COVID) and really enjoyed this poke restaurant. I got a poke bowl with white rice, spring mix, cucumber, spicy tuna, and salmon. For the sauce I got Hawaii Poke Sauce and Spicy Mayo. My favorite part about this poke bowl is that you can add as many toppings as you want for no additional cost. I have never been to a poke place like this and normally you can rack up the price quite a bit by adding toppings. But NOT HERE! I got edamame, spicy crab, corn, and mango for my toppings, all free of charge. The service was okay. It may have just been because we walked in as a group of 5, but the staff seemed to be rushing us quite a bit when deciding what we wanted. As soon as we walked in and glanced at the menu they were rushing us along to start ordering. The nay-sayers are WRONG! The staff at Hawaii Poke & Ramen are tremendously friendly and informative representing their food. Perhaps it was the early evening time I dined (5pm) as they were not busy. I can only review their Poke as that was all I ordered. In a Chipotle-style assembly line, you pick your base (get the coconut rice or chips) and then your proteins. It seems risky to pick seafood in West Texas but HPR is doing their spicy tuna to perfection. It tastes fresh and is a great cooling effect if you add any spice to your bowl. Whenever I asked about something I didn't know, they were exceptionally understanding and even made recommendations, with an offer to try a small bite. If I had to point out any negative, I would highlight that when you walk in, it is not immediately clear what side of the order counter to start. The first thing you see is the register but for Poke, you start at the far right of the counter. For ramen, I think you start at the middle of the counter. Bottom line, the Poke at HPR is top notch; as good as I have enjoyed in Colorado and California. read more

Literally no emotion and it made me want to walk out halfway through ordering The menu was confusing on the board and it was on the screen going from such a weird direction so it made ordering difficult. Now let's talk about the meal. Now if you're from Hawaii, it's not like a traditional poke bowl from foodland or any local family restaurant. However, it's ok. Not the worst. It's not something I would go out of the way to eat. I would give it a 5/10. Portion size is tiny for a $12 bowl and not worth the cost. Mind you as soon as I paid the lady snatched the receipt and threw it in the trash can and immediately sat down to check her phone. I was astonished and walked out as fast as I could. I'm so delighted that this place opened up. Ramen and Poké are two of my favorite foods, and they are very underrepresented here in Lubbock. I could barely understand the cashier. He was very quiet and that was a little bit of an issue, but he was very nice other than that. It kind of.. irked me that their card reader was set up with preset 20%, 30%, and 40% tip options, though. Who wants to leave a 40% tip for someone who just put in my order? Nobody. I ordered the Cheese Wontons, Tonkotsu Ramen, Thai Iced Milk Tea with Tapioca Pearls, and a bowl of Poké. The wontons were sweet and I really liked them. The Ramen was great, but I wish the broth was a little richer. The Thai Tea was great, and the Poké bowl was excellent. I'd love to come back and try more food, or just have the ramen again. I ordered the Tonkotsu Ramen and it was pretty darn delicious despite it coming with corn. The pickled ginger was a surprising touch, since i love to eat it with sushi. One of the first times ive ever eaten all the ramen. If sodium didnt make my blood pressure high, i wouldve drank the rest of the broth too. Will definitely be coming back to try the other ramens.
