This company offers an outstanding snorkeling experience, but only if you are a solid swimmer. There is another company I would recommend if it's your first-time snorkeling or if you are not a strong swimmer. They provide a floating noodle, which can be hard to move with and a snorkel/mask (the type that you have to take out if water gets in). They also provide large fins that are a bit hard to maneuver (even for decent swimmers). For people who are good swimmers, this equipment should work fine, but for me I had difficulty and had to return to the boat. I'm giving it four stars though because the crew was great and my travel partner was able to fully experience this snorkeling trip even though I couldn't. Everyone got very close to the turtles, because this company REALLY knows the BEST spots off Waikiki for snorkeling. They visited a turtle cleaning station and were close enough to touch the turtles (even though you def should avoid touching them in order to keep them protected!). Also, the snorkeling guide, Kelly, took an underwater camera and snapped some really amazing photos of the sealife as well as the snorkelers, so she'll get a great shot of you up close and personal underwater with your new turtle friends. The price is good (we found a deal for it) and is a shorter excursion, but given that you really hit THE hot spot for turtles, I highly recommend it. TIP: It's hard to find the boat once you arrive at the boat harbor, so try to arrive 15 minutes early. read more

I normally don't leave reviews but I just had to for this company. I live on Oahu and this is by far the BEST DIVE SHOP on island. They are the safest, most personalized dive tour company out here. Every local loves them! Unlike most dive shops in Hawaii, they offer a super personal experience with world class dive instructors. Instead of being in a large group of 10 or more you are paired up in groups of no more than 3 to an instructor. Their safety record is impeccable, not to mention they certify gear for nearly every other shop on island. I took my parents when they came out to visit and it was the highlight of their trip. Caleb the instructor was just fantastic. My parents had never dove before and were not the most comfortable in the water, but after literally 5 minutes he had them diving like pros. They were just so excited and in awe of the experience that they are now getting certified! I highly recommend this shop for divers of all ages and experience levels. Captain Andrew did another great job, DM Scooter & DM/Instructor Suzanne was very knowledgeable and very easy going, perfect for relaxing dives. I did decide to do another Padi class and I would suggest that anyone debating on a class, go ahead, they follow the Padi guidelines and make it fun..can't do much better than that!! I also highly recommend the transportation service they offer for a slight change, the driver was nice and always very flexible with the time. Just finished up my open water certification and couldn't be more pleased with my experience. My instructor Evan was superb - extremely knowledgeable, clear in his instruction, a great teacher, committed to my success, kind, warm, relaxed, and funny. I felt prepared and comfortable at all times. It was great to get so much 1-1 instruction and support. I also felt super appreciative of the approach of this company too- not trying to upsell (ie high integrity), reasonably priced, and clearly very safe and prepared. Both of the days I was on the boat with other groups but still had 1-1 instruction with Evan. I really enjoyed my time on the boat, too, not just in the water. The guys were all light-hearted and fun, but still clearly very knowledgeable and helpful, looking after us. On the dives, we saw lots of cool fish, tons of turtles, some octopi, an eel, and even an eagle ray. Between dives on the first day, we saw a huge pod of dolphins as well. Caleb took us to explore some gorgeous areas 40-45ft of depth were we could swing with turtles and see colorful fishes. Dave had pineapple and water for us after each dive, which was great. Found this outfit online for a last minute booking and had an excellent time diving with them. Completely professional, safe, and easy if you are staying in Honolulu. Booked with two days notice and got two world class dives in. The first was a nice shipwreck at about 90 feet and the second was what I experienced as a coral garden with a lot of big turtles. 4 diver max because of covid which was nice for the clients. A shout out to Captain Andrew for his zany sense of humor, professionalism, and just being plain nice. We joined HDA for a scuba diving tour. There were two diving sessions that were around half an hour each. The diving experience was definitely amazing and we were able to see white tip reef sharks, eel, and sea turtles. The instructor was very experienced and very nice to us. We love the tour and we definitely recommend it! One thing to note: The waves were quite strong on the day we went on tour and the boat is quite small (only like 15 people on the boat), so you could get seasick if you stay on the boat the whole time (someone on our boat did). You are totally fine if you are diving though. read more

Excellent trip. Just my son, who went on his fifth and sixth dives, me and the dive guide. The dive started at 7:15 a.m. We met them at the pier and parked right off their slip c-3. The crew helped us load our gear and get everything set-up. We Dove horse shoe reef and the turtle reef. We saw at least 6 turtles and tons of other sea life including a couple sea cucumbers. The dive guide was Very accommodating and entertaining. We will be sure to book all our dives with them the next time we return to Oahu. I can not recommend them enough! read more

I dove with two dive companies while in Oahu. The first company lead us into a dive with HUGE swells, which everyone on the boat got sea sick. They didn't check the divers gear before they went in and some of the novice divers forgot weights, to click their bcd's, etc. Obviously, this lead me to look up another company, Hawaiian Diving Adventures - Instantly, when I called I was greeted by a super friendly voice. I am an underwater photographer and told them, "take me where I can get awesome photos". He said, "We got you covered.". When I arrived on the boat, there were 3 dive masters and 7 total divers. We saw 11+ turtles in ONE DIVE, 4 octopus and tons of fish. After the first dive we served up some amazing pine apple. These guys LOVE what they do and it shows. Great operator for a beginner! This was my first dive and my first experience with anything scuba-related. Our dive instructor Brittany was so calm and encouraging as she walked us through the basics and helped us get comfortable with the gear. On the dives, she constantly checked in and made sure we were all doing ok, and also pointed out some of the amazing underwater marvels (she's a marine biologist and knew her stuff). Our group (two beginners, two certified) did two dives with a break in between. No snacks due to covid, so bring a breakfast bar or something for the break. I was visiting my son who goes to UofH and was certified by Caleb at HDA so he suggested we use them to do a two reef dive as he had a great experience with Caleb during certification (he is any advanced diver). We dove with Jordan as our guide and two other divers. It was an excellent day of diving in HI with Jordan as he was very professional, patient and encouraging all the while showing us some great spots to view fish, eels and a couple of octopus along with all the other fantastic sea life. I just got re-certified after years of not diving and this was an excellent re-introduction into HI diving by HDA. The dive sites were only minutes outside the harbor which made for a very pleasant experience. I would suggest if you are looking for a diving company, HDA is a can't beat option and if you give them a try you will be glad you did. I've done two dive trips with these guys and they were both great. The first one was a 1-1 with Andrew back in April. We went down ~100 feet to the Sea Tiger wreck and then did some reef dive (I forget which, I think Horseshoe to Secrets). Great guide, friendly, knowledgeable, the works... The second trip was last week with a bigger group and I brought my partner, who had never dived before (she did the "Discover Scuba" thing). She had an awesome time, and the whole crew was super-friendly to both of us. I mostly dove with Ren, and she was really knowledgeable about all the species we saw and spotted lots of critters that I definitely wouldn't have noticed. My partner's instructor, Liz, did an awesome job making her first dive really fun, easy, and stress-free, and we had a great time chatting with her on the boat. Oh, and this wasn't part of the tour, but we serendipitously saw a humpback whale and her calf from the boat, and they graciously led us hang out for an extra 5-10 minutes to watch it breach. Highly recommended dive company. The instructors gave calm guidance for my wife to overcome initial difficulties and fears in our confined water training.
