What a bad ass experience to do in Hawaii! We did the shark diving excursion (no cage), and we actually saw a tiger shark (along with a couple galapagos sharks) ! The crew was very helpful and made sure we felt very safe to do it. We hung on to a rope connected to the boat and just went with the waves. We went out on a choppy morning, so the only downside was some got seasick from the waves. Im glad we didn't do the cage cause I imagine we be tossed around with the waves. Other than that, it was super awesome. Only 6 of us went out so it was a nice small group. The photographer was great (see photographs - cost extra for the photos), the gal who took us out was very directive and could read the sharks body vibe so she knew how to guide us. And thanks captain Ronnie for navigating the choppy ocean.

My boyfriend, friends and I had nothing short of the experience of a lifetime with Hawaii Adventure Diving. While attending the free diving with sharks, we felt safe and in control for the entirety of our excursion. Stacy was our main diver and was very experienced, Kevin was our captain, and Terry was our professional photographer- and let me tell you the photos were worth every penny. This is an experience I would book again in a heartbeat! P.S. be sure to check if there is a Groupon deal before you book :)

We had an unforgettable experience here!! It was so amazing to be so close to these beautiful and misunderstood creatures. We felt safe in the hands of the crew; Lucas, Terry, and Stacey. They were accommodating and made us feel comfortable, they answered any questions or concerns we had. This was beginner friendly. It was my first time diving so if I can do it, you can do it. Such an amazing experience, can't recommend it enough!

This is by far my favorite company to do shark dives with. The safety divers & photographers are absolutely incredible! The divers give you a thorough safety introduction so you can understand what will happen in the water before you get in. I always feel extremely safe with everyone + the sharks, and it creates the most relaxing experience. I have to give a shoutout to both Terry & Sammy for their AMAZING photography skills! If you do decide to book, PLEASE get the photography package, I promise you won't regret it! I'll definitely book with them again in the future & highly suggest you do as well

One of the best diving experiences I've had in my life! Incredible staff super knowledgeable, and made the experience really fun and really inclusive as a solo traveler, which in my experience isn't always the case! Terry is INCREDIBLE with the camera and forever saying it was one of the best decisions, I did to get the photo package with him. By far some of my favorite pictures I have of myself in life. 100% going to them anytime I visit.

My daughter and I went on this tour on Monday. I had a full blown panic attack prior to getting in the water (tears included). Stacy and team were so patient and gentle with me, never pressuring me and letting me go at my pace. I finally got in the water and was blown away by the beauty of these amazing animals. I highly recommend this company they not only care so much about conservation but care about the safety of those on their tour! Mahalo team!!

    11ft Tiger Shark and myself

The Hawaii Adventure diving crew were all absolutley Incredible! Stacey, the captain, makes the 2-3 mile ride off shore feel like a smooth ride while you get to watch the beautiful Hawaiian mountains come further into view ( bring a camera, it's gorgeous). Terry, the photographer, only charges like $75 for the photos he takes, and he makes you look like you've been diving for years. He was extremely patient as he taught some of the other guests how to dive under water so he could get the best shots. ( Seriously, for $75 he will make you the coolest person on your friend group) Luka, one of the safety divers on board makes you feel extremely comfortable in the water and legitimately put his body in between myself and the tiger shark multiple times ( no, I wasn't in danger) but seeing him take the time to pay attention and do that made the dive feel even more comfortable. HIGHLY RECCOMEND this crew and I will 100% be back to dive more!

The shark snorkel gig was absolutely incredible--an unforgettable experience! The small group made it feel personal & relaxed, (6 people max on boat) allowing for plenty of individual attention. Our guides (owner Nick & camera guy Terri) were knowledgeable and passionate, explaining everything clearly and making us feel completely safe. Captain Tracy was clear in expectations also. Getting so close to the sharks in such a respectful, well-run setting was truly awe-inspiring. Highly recommended for anyone seeking a thrilling yet thoughtfully guided adventure. Can I give it a 10 star?

If you are on Oahu do not miss this opportunity. Skip the cage and go with One Ocean Diving. Thank you for a round two dive! I first tried this place in 2024. With the times, if there are not enough they will consolidate times. We were signed up for 10am but got moved to 8am. You meet at Haleiwa docks near the blue hut (see photo). They provide mask, snorkel, and fins. You should bring a rash guard or wetsuit. The ride out is about 15 mins and as is typical in Hawaii, water can be choppy so you might get a little seasick. They give you instructions on the boat. Once there you hang on to a rope on the side of the boat and they take you individually to dive down closer to the sharks. We got lucky because there were tiger sharks (see photos). The cost is about $150 person but I would recommend paying some additional money for the go pro. You really want some documentation of what you did and saw. It's $50 for 2 people. They also have $250 option for photos and go pro but I think the go pro was enough. The people were really good and it was a great experience for all of us. Strongly recommend.

The actual Surf N Sea store has SO MUCH stuff...clothes, swimwear, flip flops, and more. They even sell water and sodas. Plus, they have a bathroom. I also bought my short fins here and was able to find a really cute pair. The service here was super nice and helpful when looking for a pair of fins. We arrived a little more than 30 minutes prior to our charter time, unfortunately the captain missed us at check in and we joined a later charter which worked out really well for us. Captain Ken was our boat captain and he was very kind & knowledgeable, he provided us alot of information prior to us taking off and while we were out on the water. He also had floating camera handles he allowed us to use - thanks Ken - we didn't even think about this. The First Mate & crew on our charter were great and very informative. It was whale season in Hawaii while we were there so we were able to see sprays from the whales on the trip out to the shark encounter area. We were able to see whales breaching the water in the distance, we also saw alot of sharks. The charter takes us 3 miles off shore & then hooks up to the shark cages that are tethered out in the open water while charters go to and from. It is about a 20 minute boat ride out to the shark cages & 20 minutes back. Each group gets so spend roughly 20 minutes in the shark cage, getting up close and personal with these majestic creatures. Captain Ken took some video footage from a pole camera and we were able to be in the background in the cage, the video provided by the captain was clear and a great perspective. I am so glad that we added this to our trip because this was hands down one of the coolest experiences of my life! I would definitely do this again, on our next trip to Hawaii.

No big deal, but we wish they could have at least told us since we had to show up 30 minutes early, we were standing around for almost an hour with no real communication about them being late. Because they were late to pick us up, they seemed a little rushed, telling us we needed to make sure we were quick and rushing us into the water. I get that they were behind but it wasn't our fault. The water was very, very rough. Which is not the boat's fault either, but just a warning to others. I have heard sometimes it's super calm so I am sure it's likely time of year, but when we went it was bad. Almost every single person got seasick. Also, when you go in the cage, it's almost worse for the seasickness. You are getting tossed around badly inside that thing. We actually had to hold on pretty hard. We were given some cool facts about the sharks and the waters, but it was like 5 minutes worth. We wish they would have talked with us a little bit more. Also, they were very thorough with instructions regarding safety of the cage, which is great. They gave no instructions about the mask and snorkel. I guess they just assumed everyone understood, but we had one guy get in the water and asked how to use the snorkel. I guess overall, when compared to other boat tours we had went on in Hawai'i, this one just doesn't compare. They provide no drinks or snacks (which again is okay, but for the same cost on another boat we were given them). Seeing the sharks was super cool; I just don't know if it was worth it.

We lucked out with perfect wind, water, and sky conditions, which made the whole trip incredible. The ride out was 10-15 min? Getting into the water was easy. Water was great! Though there weren't many, we did manage to dive next to a Galapagos shark, a jellyfish, turtle, and eagle ray (this guy was in port tho). Lilly and the entire team were so helpful and accommodating the whole time. They were fantastic about answering all of our questions and really made the process of getting in and out of the boat less stressful. I will say: you will need to have decent strength to hoist yourself out of the water from a small solo step on the boat (they help but keep in mind for my fellow limited bodied folks). On windier conditions, you will have to be a decent swimmer, too. So those not familiar with the ocean, practice at like Waikiki or hanauma bay first. We had someone swallow water on our boat and we had calmer conditions, too. I honestly wish we could have been in the water for longer, but I'm just looking at it as a great excuse to book another trip and head out again! My favorite part was actually the ride back in: the crew picked up some speed and took some fun turns, which I really enjoyed. Everything was set up to be convenient, too. They provided all the snorkel gear, including flippers and masks, and there is a cubby under the seat to keep your items safe, dry, and out of the way. Parking is readily available, so you don't have to worry about that. Just a heads up on the media side of things: they do offer professional photo packages, which run about $80 to $100. You are allowed to bring your own GoPro, but they are pretty specific about which models you can bring due to concerns about radio wave interference, so it's worth double-checking with them beforehand. Overall, it was a fantastic day out on the water with a good crew.
