My husband and I went to dinner on May 28th at Hawkeys to give them another chance. It had been several months since we had been there last and this time it will be the last. Bad service! The waitstaff needs customer service training. The two severs/barmaids were not cheerful at all. We had empty plates on our table and both would walk by with empty hands and not bother to pick up out plates. When my husband brought it to our servers attention on how rude it was if them and he said that we won't be back she said "Good!" That sealed the deal! We won't go back due to lazy, unhappy, and rude staff. Food is good though. read more

Yesterday was my girlfriend's birthday and she wanted all you can eat crab at hawkeyes. I invited a couple of friends. Unfortunately one of them is allergic to shellfish. She was told by the waitress that all the food they were serving had been contaminated and had crab that had touched everything in the kitchen and nothing was safe for her to eat. When I asked if I could order from a restaurant next door for her, I was told that I couldnt bring in outside food and she shouldnt have come on the crab night. My friend had to watch us eat to avoid a severe reaction. How can they serve food? This ruined our dinner not to mention the lack of compassion and disreguard for the consumer. Shouldnt the health department be aware of their kitchen practices? read more

If you can handle servers getting yelled at by owners the place is not bad. Food a little high priced but good. Smoking section only open part time. Beer and alcohol not bad price Would only go back if customers got treated better by owner read more

Hawkeye's makes an awesome turkey, bacon, tomato and cheese melt. Their fries are fabulous and service is extremely friendly!

Don't do it!!!! I have given my business to this place many times in the last 5 years, only to be disappointed more often than not. The wait staff is usually extremely poor and show an attitude of indifference, and new help comes and goes like the wind. I have had a few good meals over the years, but after last night, I'm done... Prime rib dip sandwich, disturbing that any one that calls them self a chef or cook of any type, would serve something that bad to another human being... Great food, Great Service. Many of the foods are made from scratch in their kitchen. I love the soup and sandwich specials, can't be beaten. The service is fantastic at lunch time. I have not been there in the evening but I here the Crab feed is awesome. WOOHOO!!!!! read more

despite what that smellee person said in his/her review last year -- the service at hawkeye's is excellent. we've never had a slow server, and my husband and i eat there at least once a week, and have done so for 9 years. didn't realize there was a listing here or would have posted a review earlier. yes there are peanut shells -- but that is on thursday nights. i LOVE the fact that there are sooo many tv's -- i'm in tv heaven. the food is good. i usually get the fish and chips and they are GOOD. i love sauerkraut, so they bring me hot sauerkraut in place of the cole slaw. several years ago i had a birthday party for my husband there -- there were at least 15 of us. no problem with accommodating all of us. for those who smoke -- most of the people DO eat inside and then go out into the courtyard to smoke, but often times the smokers will just eat outside. read more

As a person that frequents this bar about 4-5 times a month, I've been a little disappointed with the quality of food as of late. I ordered their steak salad last night (on Comedy night, which is one of their busier nights) and some of the salad was noticeably slimy and not fresh. Really fun place. The food and drinks are awesome. My husband got a sandwich and I got the prime rib and it was all really good. The service was a tad bit slow but it is understandable considering it was a Saturday and a couple hours before a free comedy show. We will defiantly be back maybe to try out breakfast :) read more

Nice overall appearance inside. The food left much to be desired. Another place that appears to be making very little if anything on their own. Everything appears to be frozen and pre-made. I'm posting a review to rave about Hawkeye's breakfast. No offense to people with kids, but having a good little bar environment to watch some Sunday sports and have some eggs and hashbrowns at the same time is a great thing! The eggs benedict, shockingly, was great! However, between my boyfriend and myself, we have had most of the breakfast items on the menu. The service can be a little slow, but this is to be expected because there is usually one person tending the bar, taking orders, serving food, and busing the tables in the mornings. We have definitely come here for dinner and happy hour and have had equally good experiences. It's certainly a local spot in Lake Stevens but definitely worth a shot if you are looking for a little adult environment. read more

If you happen to be out in Lake Stevens this is a nice bar to go visit for some decent food and something to wet your whistle. Despite it's immense size, it maintains a nice pub feel. The service was fairly fast and friendly even though we brought in a large number of people they dealt with separate checks for everyone without batting an eyelash. My husband and I have been coming here off and on for years. When we first moved here back in 2007 it was great. The staff was always friendly and food was decent. However, over the past two years the service has gone down hill. There is one server (an older gal) that we always get stuck with and she is so curt and not personable. We always feel like we are bothering her or hindering her from her day. Lady you are in customer service so put a damn smile on your face. She is not attentive and good luck getting anything after your order comes out. Last time we were there she was in her usual foul mood and my husband and I decided we won't be going back. We are always very polite but she just scowls her away back to the bar as if our drink orders are putting her out. We'll go to O'Reillys across the street where at least the bartender/servers crack a smile. read more

If you don't mind the slowest service of your life then this is an ok place to go. It's a typical bar with peanut shells, bar stools, tvs etc. The waitresses are nice; just slow. There are much better happy hour prices at other places in the area. read more

Great local spot for a COLD beer, seriously... it's cold to the last sip! Yummy jalapeño burger and sweet potato fries! (although my husband likes the regular fries better and the deluxe burger with bacon) Nothing fancy about it but it's a great place to eat some greasy food. Meh.. yea, it's Lake Steven's - what to expect?! It's a bar.. I was starving not so much in the need of a drink. I ordered the french dip sammy with cheese. And that's all it was. Bread. Meat (that was tough and chewy) with half way melted cheddar cheese and clearly the au jus (sp?) was from the instant box. Typical bar, booze, pool tables, and darts, just the way I like it. The bartenders and waitresses are usually pretty friendly and the prices are affordable. If you go on a weekend and plan on playing pool you better be good, otherwise some serous player will challenge your table. read more
