We've been renting a lot for our rv from Washington Terrace for the last three years. I wasn't sure…read moreif this was the right place for us when I saw it (there are a lot of lots) but am now extremely happy we decided to try it. The management was very helpful in getting our rv hooked up as we were first time rv buyers. The location is near all the amenities we could ask for while being quiet at night. Our neighbors were welcoming and friendly, and made me feel safer about leaving our rv for extended periods of time while my husband was between jobs and we went back home. The park itself is neatly kept. Some may not like being asked to cut their grass, but I appreciated it as all the lots were well maintained. Sadly, my husband's job has ended and we're taking our rv back home. If he ever has work in the area again and we need a place to rent, Washington Terrace remains our first choice.

After three days, we decided to change RV parks. Here are some of the issues: We paid almost $40 a night - there isn't a sewer at the site, very limited 50-amp spots, the water source is quite far from the RV pad (had to purchase a longer hose), no shower or indoor bathroom facilities (a couple of port-a-potties were available), you have to pay $10 to use the dump site and $25 for a pet fee, fire pits are available but are located a little far from your spot and very few trees. This campground was recently flooded and is trying to recover, but it not worth the cost. We moved to a much better site and paid half the price. The deciding factor for us was the rudeness of the camp host. We had an issue with a burst hose. He was very irate, yelling and threatening. After reading other Yelp reviews of this site (who reflected the same feelings), we wanted to make sure prospective campers knew what to expect.

The grounds were immaculate and sites are very level, perfectly grassy, full hookups and did I mention you can walk to their town if you wanted too? Bowling alley, shops, eateries etc. cute little river that flows on the outskirts of their property, very serene and relaxing here. Close to i80 so it's convenient too. Rates are very reasonable. If your dog likes water, there is a gate to the lake next to the park which is fenced in with the fence running down to the lake. This allows your dog to go for a swim. It's a really nice park in the middle of Papillon. There is a small amount of parking (4-5 cars) and during my time there, 4 other dogs were in the park.

Elkhorn Crossing Recreation Area is a terrific spot for camping. That's why I came here. I was…read moretraveling across the country and this quiet park situated about 25 miles west of Omaha, Nebraska was the perfect place to rest for the night. I discovered Elkhorn Crossing through the app on my phone called Campendium. Upon arriving here, there's a little "introduction board" posted near the entrance. I pulled my car over and read the sign with instructions on how to get situated camping. There was a small pamphlet/card to fill out. Included with this was an envelope to deposit $10 cash or a check into the drop-box. Then I teared off the receipt portion and attached it next to the campsite of my choosing. That was it. I was good to go! I'd just like to point out that Elkhorn Crossing is closed for 5 straight months out of the year from November 1 - April 1 which obviously makes sense due to the winter conditions. For me stopping on by back in August 2020...I had nothing but warm weather, lol. What I really liked about this Elkhorn Crossing was the amount of space and area to spread out on. So although when I visited back over the summertime there were other campers nearby my tent...they actually appeared far away. I felt like I had a big section of grass all to myself. Also...this was important. You were allowed to pitch your tent on the grass area so it made for a fluffy setting to sleep upon. Most campsites these days (especially the more primitive ones in remote locations) feature hard dirt grounds to rest on. For those campgrounds I use my inflatable mattress for padding. Some real good aspects to Elkhorn Crossing that I appreciated was not only the campground area being so spacious...but every site had a barbecue pit to cook including picnic tables. For anyone bringing food and groceries with them...it's the ideal place to enjoy a cookout. Also good was being able to back my car nearby my tent so this way I didn't have to walk back and forth far setting myself up. If I had to reveal anything disappointing, it'd be that there weren't any showers or restrooms on the grounds. Sometimes I get real lucky at campsites I pick where places actually offer these amenities. But usually I have to pay more than $10. Those types of campgrounds (mostly within RV Parks) cost more in the range of $25 - $50 for the night. But I am easy. I have no issues using the vault toilets. Although I never explored around this Elkhorn Crossing Recreation Area, I did check online a lot of other outdoor activities for having fun here. This included... - Fishing - Float trips down the river - Playgrounds - RV Camping - Wildlife Viewing (though I didn't see anything) I really liked the picturesque scenery during sunset. I sat back in my lounge chair and appreciated the views out into the distance. Goes to show how much space there was available here that I was able to admire an evening summer sunset. Overall, I very much enjoyed my time and stay for the night here at Elkhorn Crossing Recreation Area. It was a great pit-stop along my driving journey around the USA. I'd certainly recommend to anyone needing an easy going stop for the evening...this place is more than serviceable.

There is no water or electricity hookups but we do not need them. There is no dump but there is a Loves 4 miles away where you can. It's quiet and right on the river. Sites are level.

The good part of this park is that it's absolutely beautiful. The greenest park that we've ever…read morestayed in. That being said, the day we were to arrive we got a phone call from "Cindy" who told us her allergies were bothering her and she will not be in the office when we arrive. Cindy instructed us to get a map out of the box next to the office door and look at a yellow paper that would give us our spot number and instructions. We got our map and finally found the yellow paper which was a Post-it note on the inside of the glass of the office door (it was very hard to read through the glass of the door). We saw that we were in what we thought was site number 72 (in hindsight, Cindy had written 2 guests on one paper and we were to be in site 70 and they were to be in site 72). Thinking we should be in site 72, we pulled into site 72 and got set up. A few minutes after we arrived, we got a phone call from Cindy and a knock on the door from a gentleman driving a golf cart. They both proceeded to tell us that we were in the wrong site. Cindy told me on the phone that we were in the wrong spot and that she "had" to move the people that belong there because they were very long. She made it sound like we had made the worst mistake in the world and that she had to go to a lot of trouble to fix our mistake. Cindy proceeded to tell me that the site we were in was $15 more because it was longer than the one next to us that we were supposed to be in (my husband measured it and the site we were in was 12 inches longer than the site we should've been in). When we realized we had made the mistake, we were already feeling bad enough, but for them to make us feel like we had made the worst mistake in the whole world, that was a horrible feeling ... the way they came off to us was really bad. If we had been told nicely that we had made a mistake and given the opportunity to move to where we should've been or pay the $15 to stay where we were that would've been a lot better. As it was, they just got the other guy another site and charged me $15 extra. I'm a pretty reasonable person, but this was a horrible experience. I have been in customer service for over 25 years and I would never think of talking to the customer like she talked to me.
