On the application and the help of a first time mover, contract and so on I think they are a 5 star place. "The Height of Urban Luxury" ???…read more Southpoint Village can only be referred to as a "luxury" apartment complex in the same sense that jumping out of a 10th floor window can be called a way to exit a building. As of this writing, it is Memorial Day Weekend and the pool, which is supposed to be open year-round, is empty and nowhere near ready for use. The only community grills are locked inside the fence alongside sun-bleached, grimy furniture that evokes a long-forgotten roadside motel. In keeping with that aesthetic, at least half a dozen abandoned cars are scattered throughout the parking lot. It is inconceivable that management hasn't noticed these cars. As my photos show, some lack license plates and have flat tires. While the units are spacious in terms of total square feet, the layouts are poorly designed. Massive dining areas cut heavily into the living rooms, and in most layouts, the kitchens are cramped. The fake wood floors are impossible to get clean, and the hot water tanks are too small if you happen to have long hair or simply enjoy a good shower. As for the appliances, they are beyond terrible--it's as if someone traveled back in time and raided a warehouse in the Soviet Union. The staff are personally very nice, but it does not substitute for their incompetence. Aside from failing to prepare the pool for summer or address the abandoned vehicles, their communication is abysmal. To announce a mandatory maintenance entry, management bypassed email and the community app entirely. Instead, they opted to post a single paper printout at one specific office entrance. Because of this, I was getting out of the shower when maintenance knocked a few times and immediately began unlocking my front door. In any other complex this wouldn't be an issue, but these doors cannot be deadbolted from the inside to prevent staff entry. There are a lot of apartments within a few miles of here. If you want luxury, or the guarantee of privacy, I suggest you look elsewhere.

When we arrived, there was nobody in the office, in the middle of the afternoon on a Friday. We finally met up with the leasing agent, who informed us there were no elevators on the property. My husband, who is a wheelchair user, was unable to even see the unit she had available and she then went on to tell us that some of the amenities were down a flight of stairs. Considering this property was built in 2006, this is literally illegal. It is fine to have some units only accessible by stairs, but the common areas MUST be accessible per the ADA. This was a very short tour and I will probably be reaching out to the management company as well. This is absolutely unacceptable in 2023. Besides that, there was nothing special about the community, and we were not even shown the pool area, or other amenities. It was all under renovation so hard to tell what was construction and what was just the state of the community. Fine if you want the bare minimum with a mall in your backyard, but if you want anything above that, look elsewhere. I cannot support a company that doesn't abide by the laws for equal access.

Milton and Veronica are extremely personable and willing to listen to any issues you run into, and if they can't help personally, they always know exactly where to direct you. During my time, I always received timely responses to any maintenance issues (I rarely had any - a fridge broke once, garbage disposal clogged, etc). The gym is a great bonus - it could use a bit of an update, but its nearly a fully-stocked exercise room (all it needs are some barbells and it'd be a full work-out space). I lived close to the pool which was an added bonus, as there is a real sense of community when the weather gets warm. This place was a perfect location for my commute. For two years I worked in Cary, 1 year I worked in Durham, and 1 in Raleigh. My commute was never longer than 30 minutes, and for Downtown Raleigh in particular, it only took me 10 minutes. I've seen some posts about cockroaches being an issue, but I can honestly say I've not had that problem. Management sprays every month, and as long as you keep good hygiene habits, you shouldn't have an issue. Overall, this complex was a great stepping point for me as I moved to ward my goals of home ownership, and I'll definitely miss the convenience and sense of community (prices aren't bad either!).

Good storage, laundry, dishwasher all in the unit. Pool, gym and office you can use, along with food truck and holiday events they are kind to hold for the community. They are VERY good for keeping things maintained and cleaned, and any pest control. Our air conditioner died and they sent someone within a few hours of reporting (they use a nifty online system to report any issues, pay rent etc) and it was fixed immediately. It is super loud outside most times because they're always busy cleaning or fixing something. I swear if there isn't a leafblower going there's something else, before winter they were sanding down bits of sidewalk you could trip on. But, while intrusive at times, I'd rather them be on top of things and be noisy than not, and I don't think most people would notice as much as I do since I'm here all the time. Parcels and retrieving them can be a bit of a pain unfortunately. They do not get delivered to your door, but are held in a room at the front office. They have to sort it all and they actually photograph and text/email that you have a parcel. While I appreciate it, I'd be much happier having my mail just come to the door instead of getting it much later while waiting for this. Especially during busy holiday times where they are clearly overwhelmed with the mass amount of mail. I have had a few parcels "misplaced" which they did eventually find thankfully. All in all a great place, I've lived in more apartments than I'd like to and this is by far the best and well managed.

In addition, they are repainting the hallways but using aerosol paint, providing no protection for the residences living there. The fumes have been extremely strong to the point where you cannot even be in your own apartment. Many residences have complained but nothing has been done. Seems like they care about the aesthetic of the apartment more than the residence's health.

The grounds were always kept clean. It reminded me of living in a park with the charcoal grills. Having a 24 hour gym was beneficial since I worked so many hours at Wake Med. have been a resident at Midtown Green since 02/14/2020…read more I've been borrowing my mom's car since then, which is registered in NY. The car hasn't been back in 2 years to be inspected so I don't have an up to date registration. I have an official letter/form from the NY Dept. of Motor Vehicles saying that they are aware and I have an exception. I left my car for almost 2 weeks in the same spot to ATTEND MY FATHER'S FUNERAL (which was 5 days ago) and my car was fine. I had been in town 24 hours and my car was towed, for my apartment lot, with my park placard on it. I explained the situation to Unlimited Towing and they just want their money and said I was parked on private property (which is weird since it's essentially my drive way) I called Midtown Green's leasing office and their Community Manager wouldn't even get on the phone with me. They said I needed to take it up with Unlimited Towing and that they would not reimbursement the $240 it will take for me to get my car back and that they had nothing to do with it I would have to talk t unlimited recovery. Someone called a towing company to have me towed so I called my NEW apartment complex, Park Central (shout out to Hannah for being the absolute best) who gave me the number for Kane public safety. I also explained to her the situation and she said i would be put on a list so that I would never be towed from their deck. I called Kane Public Safety and they said that all they do is patrol the deck and that they don't know who is supposed to be there and who isn't AND that they definitely are not looking at expired tags. I was told that SOMEONE in my LEASING OFFICE had to call and request Unlimited Towing to come get my car. I would give this apartment complex a 0 if I could solely for this situation alone. Pay the extra money and move to Park Central.
