We loved the older charm of the unit (hardwoods, high ceilings, huge windows), and the kitchen was nicely updated. Some of the drawbacks were the cost of utilities because the home wasn't well insulated, and the occasional maintenance issue, but these are just old property issues and not Trinity specific. We were always super impressed with their responsiveness to any maintenance issues. This is a real stand out to us in terms of positives, and made a great impression. Also, they are incredibly fair with returning the security deposit, which you don't see very often! The people working in the office are all very kind and helpful. We wholeheartedly recommend these apartments to anyone looking for an attentive landlord, as long as your okay with dealing with the charms of older properties.

Once inside the Murchison apartments, the other couple pushed me aside and practically bowled me over to be first in the door, pounding Guy with questions then informing him they "probably" wanted the place but had "one more place to see and they'd be back soon" and abruptly left. Guy looked at me with a friendly smile and said, "Can I give you a quick tour?" I loved the place instantly: the big windows, spacious living area and hardwood throughout. The kitchen was as small as a postage stamp (recent photos show they expanded and remodeled it) and said I was ready to sign. He smiled and said, "I'm so glad you do. Those other folks weren't very polite; you seem like you'd be a very nice tenant." Guy was a terrific landlord and true to Trinity's website, the apartments were a great value, especially since they were close proximity to Duke University. I rented two apartments from Trinity at the Murchison Apartments on Demerious Street and Georgetown Apartments, my favorite being Georgetown because it had a large eat-in kitchen and pantry and two spacious bedrooms upstairs. (Murchison was a little quirkier and smaller, it was still a cute place. It had a fantastic storage area under the stairs where I stashed Christmas decorations and luggage). Both apartments were townhouses and very cozy with central air conditioning, a *must for those sweltering summers in the South. Both apartments were very well maintained by Trinity. After Guy had bought the Georgetown apartments he asked if we'd like to take a look. It was literally dollars more a month with an extra bedroom and extra 1/4 bath. He even let me choose the carpeting and linoleum from (4) samples and remodeled it fully before we moved in. If I ever moved back to the Triangle area, I'd call Guy for help navigating the real estate market since he is a very savvy real estate investor and/or rent from him again. All these years later, I still have the move/out form with a personal note from Guy that reads, "Thanks for leaving the place in such super shape!" All these years later, fond memories from a fabulous landlord. If you're looking for an apartment in Durham or Raleigh, start with Trinity Apartments.

Luckily wrapping up a 20-month experience which has been sub par in many ways: 1 - Irresponsible Management: Greystar is a joke. Since the previous manager left ~10 months ago, things have gone downhill. In our instance they raised our rental price by 70% for a short-term month to month lease necessary to bridge to my wife's graduation! If you have an uncertain planned rental term, you're in for a ride - with your fate turned over to some unknown algorithm and inaccessible 'pricing analyst.' 2 - Facility Deterioration: Common areas are not as well taken care of, especially since management turned over. Trash rooms always have some unwelcome surprise, hallways routinely have trash unaddressed from the 'valet' and grills / workout facilities are inconsistently cared for. 3 - Non-existent Ownership: First off, our close friends at Greystar will not give contact information, but informed us they sent grievances on our behalf. Milton and Veronica are extremely personable and willing to listen to any issues you run into, and if they can't help personally, they always know exactly where to direct you. During my time, I always received timely responses to any maintenance issues (I rarely had any - a fridge broke once, garbage disposal clogged, etc). The gym is a great bonus - it could use a bit of an update, but its nearly a fully-stocked exercise room (all it needs are some barbells and it'd be a full work-out space). I lived close to the pool which was an added bonus, as there is a real sense of community when the weather gets warm. This place was a perfect location for my commute. For two years I worked in Cary, 1 year I worked in Durham, and 1 in Raleigh. My commute was never longer than 30 minutes, and for Downtown Raleigh in particular, it only took me 10 minutes. I've seen some posts about cockroaches being an issue, but I can honestly say I've not had that problem. Management sprays every month, and as long as you keep good hygiene habits, you shouldn't have an issue. Overall, this complex was a great stepping point for me as I moved to ward my goals of home ownership, and I'll definitely miss the convenience and sense of community (prices aren't bad either!).

Good storage, laundry, dishwasher all in the unit. Pool, gym and office you can use, along with food truck and holiday events they are kind to hold for the community. They are VERY good for keeping things maintained and cleaned, and any pest control. Our air conditioner died and they sent someone within a few hours of reporting (they use a nifty online system to report any issues, pay rent etc) and it was fixed immediately. It is super loud outside most times because they're always busy cleaning or fixing something. I swear if there isn't a leafblower going there's something else, before winter they were sanding down bits of sidewalk you could trip on. But, while intrusive at times, I'd rather them be on top of things and be noisy than not, and I don't think most people would notice as much as I do since I'm here all the time. Parcels and retrieving them can be a bit of a pain unfortunately. They do not get delivered to your door, but are held in a room at the front office. They have to sort it all and they actually photograph and text/email that you have a parcel. While I appreciate it, I'd be much happier having my mail just come to the door instead of getting it much later while waiting for this. Especially during busy holiday times where they are clearly overwhelmed with the mass amount of mail. I have had a few parcels "misplaced" which they did eventually find thankfully. All in all a great place, I've lived in more apartments than I'd like to and this is by far the best and well managed.

It is a quiet complex and the neighborhood is walkable and near the greenway. Staff host parties for the residents periodically and these are fun to attend and help build the friendly community that is already present at The Aster. Regarding amenities, there is both a conventional pool and a lap pool, which is very nice. The exercise room is incredibly well-appointed with various pieces of equipment to choose from. All of the equipment is top-notch and is kept in good repair. They offer garages for rent or reserved parking spaces if you're interested. The apartment buildings also have electronic keys to provide additional security for residents. Overall, it's a fantastic complex and if you're looking for a safe, quiet, friendly place to live, I highly recommend it.

I would say there's no such things as a perfect community, but this community has alot of work to do. Issues Below: - First issue= onboarding was moving in, the 2 staff members that I was working with kind of left me in the dark, which I had to keep following up with the community (I should've taken this as a red flag) - There has been an increase in dog poop throughout the community (I've stepped in poop at least 3 different times in different areas) - The call box doesn't work and beeps often throughout the night - Repeatedly come across someone dog peeing in my building if that's in the elevator or/and the hallway carpet - The leasing office staff is slow at giving updates/being responsive, which isn't good - I've been dealing with a water leakage that seems to be forming into mold for over a month, I continue getting the run around/no movement still; I've also spoken to the Property Manager, Susana, about this matter and told her that I plan to go to corporate (she's even promised to give me a call last week as I've been to the office about 5 different times, and haven't received 1 call from her; today her + the male worker acted clueless which isn't good as they manage the property and the residents come first especially safe, especially coming from someone that has asthma and has dealt with growing mold in the past; I've been told by staff to put in another entry request + to continue stopping by which is very inconvenient - There are 2 doors in my building that always jam, + another door has a hard time closing when the temp. changes - Susana refused to give me her business card and didn't provide her full name on a sticky note she gave me when I asked for both # and email address of hers + of corporate (she made a comment, "They will just transfer me to her" in such a way as if you won't get far - I told the staff that I was not happy - I was told by some residents that the community rarely fixes things/this is just how it is here - Limited parking at night - The brick with the community symbol/name on it needs to get power-washed - I was told there would be a theater room available at the beginning of the year by a staff member, but still no movement - I've asked for the pool access code and still haven't recieved anything - There's been a rusty old back sitting outside of the community in front of a building with no movement that I emailed about (not a good look) - Thin walls - Marks on the walls - Carpet has been lifted up 2+ weeks and haven't been replaced - Amazon workers have a hard time getting into the packaging area; I've been told by a resident to get my Amazon packages sent to Whole Foods to pick up - Valet trash doesn't always come when they're supposed to: I've been told that they're moving on with a different company as it's been an issue here, but I've seen little change - I've seen some grill at least 3 different times from their porch which I think is a fire hazard as flames and smoke was going up (Attached are a few examples, if needed I can point out the different areas in the community) I'm sure there's more to talk about but I have not though about having to create a list. I will be contacting corporate this week through email and phone. I now have no interest with attending future events or letting staff interact with my dog moving forward.

Fenton is paradise for anyone who chooses to live here. The leasing staff? Awesome! joe and Becca are truly remarkable considering the challenges they face daily. There's a LOT of people here to please. And there are thousands that come just to admire the community, restaurants movie theater and boutiques that are at our fingertips. It's literally a part of our home. Sorry, but that's pretty cool in itself. The 2-story workout area, the beautiful pool and social area that overlook the main street park area, and the events that help to create community with the residents do just what they strive to. Everyone here is friendly and accommodating! Very pet friendly as well. If you don't like dogs, then you might reconsider. Otherwise, it's where you belong! But for the first 3 years since we moved from California to North Carolina, we called this apartment home. Our entire stay was wonderful. The staff was friendly and accommodating. The rates they offered were very reasonable and the location is brilliant. Close to shopping (including Costco!) and dining (North Hills). There are two pools! The gym is spacious and the clubhouse, elegant. It was also very close to work, so this complex hit all the right notes. Besides that, the customer service was responsive, top-notch and friendly. I cannot say enough praises about the place and how it was a perfect place to settle in when we moved. I would also want to mention how Noverlys was so helpful in coordinating with us prior to and during our move and ensuring our experience was trouble-free. Would I recommend this place? Yes, I do.
