The course is fairly open, so even a casual golfer (like my wife) can play here without feeling intimidated. It has a great links feel, and does remind me a bit like Erin Hills, with a few more trees and less difficulty. The day we came, the weather was perfect. Sunny, light breeze, and few clouds. Our experience started with a friendly check in at the pro shop. Every staff member we interacted with was helpful and professional. They all showed pride in their work, and made our experience memorable. From the pro shop, to the Marshall, to the snack bar, to the beverage cart, all A+ service. For the course itself, it was perfect. Fairways nicely groomed, greens in pristine shape, and the fescue intimidating. You can be rewarded by keeping the ball on the short grass. But get in the long stuff and you can drop some shots. I ended up 2 shots under average thanks to a lucky hole out on #7. Can't wait to play here again. This was one of my favorite courses to have played in a long time!

There were a…read morefew quirky holes, short doglegs and some blind shots, but the carts had on board GPS to give exact yardages and overhead views to select your shot. The greens were phenomenal! Very fast, unblemished for a public course and rolled so true. Hint: not as much break at the holes as you see. Fairways were almost perfect. A few spots baked out, but we saw plenty of staff out working the water hoses. I can always appreciate a course that works to give you the best they can. Cart girls and staff were always available and very friendly. The Bad: i'd struggle to find something negative, but if i had to find something, i'd say the tee boxes were probably a 6 out of 10. They have some heat or moisture issues. Again though, we saw staff on several holes trying to make it right. It didn't impede anything for us and there was still green grass. The Ugly: my putting! All in all, I would definitely want to test my game on this course again!

It was sunny for the front nine but hovering in mid 40s at best most of the day. Hard to swing when you have 4 layers on! That said, the course was in beautiful shape, even despite three days of rain before we got there. We were restricted to cart path only so it required a lot of walking I struggled because the fairways were so well cut they were like greens and the greens were even shorter and faster. Great for most golfers but not what I was used to. There was a nice mix of sand, water, and rough. The sand traps can be quite deep. You can walk the course but there are a few hills and distance between holes at times. I loved the fall colors of the leaves surrounding us. The course was less than 5100 yards from the forward tees so not super long but it was hard. Several blind shots. Greens on hills (we were referring to one hole as the volcano). I did manage a birdie on #7 so I was happy about that.

Well then you throw in this guy we were told was the Manager/guy who wants to purchase the club which hopefully the city of Mayville refuses to do because this guy does not have customer service in his bones to be able to run such a venue.My daughter had a contract with this guy ,but he kept on wanting to add charges upon charges after the initial agreement had been signed.It just kept going back and forth on you can do this you cant do that all the way up to the wedding day and days afterwards. All the weddings that I've been apart of the venues always did what they could to make sure everything went off without a hitch, and within reason.We observed after the wedding party got their food , that some of the workers helped themselves to some of it too without consent of the wedding party.Also their staff in the bar served two minors shots one of them was my son who was 18 never was carded and didnt even have his wallet with so he should never have received anything to begin with and the other was a brother of the groom who was 20 and also never carded he recieved multiple alcoholic drinks without being accompanied by any adult.Im not expecting any bar or place that serves alcohol to babysit minors ,just do their job in carding so they dont get served.Over all like I said it's a nice looking place but you need REAL LEADERSHIP to run a place like this and make it fun for all guest. Management Failed this time, hope they figure it out, if not I hope Mayville wont sell it to them.

The girl behind the counter was super nice and friendly. The building isn't much, but it does have a few refreshments like slushies. The course has a full 18 holes with the standard water hazards and obstacles and all that jazz. The course is nautical themed, which is fitting since it's right on the pier. That's part of why I liked this course so much; it offers a great view of the water. I don't live by the lake, and I can tell you my girlfriend had to poke me more than once to go because I was looking at the water like the tourist that I am. One of the holes was closed because it was filled with water when we went. No big deal, but a bit of a pain. Through no fault of the business, our trip here was a bit irritating because there was a teenage couple behind us who was playing ridiculously quickly, but also wouldn't go in front of us, so it felt like they were watching us on our tail the whole time. I'd definitely come back here. It was reasonably priced and a really lovely way to finish off the evening.

It's a great vintage bowling alley with a lot of character -- not a big flashy place, which honestly adds to the charm. They have 8 lanes and it worked really well for the event. We bowled for the fundraiser and they also used the large side room for a big raffle and gathering area, which was perfect for the group. It made it easy for everyone to hang out, socialize, and participate in the raffle between games. We didn't eat while we were there, but we did have drinks and the service was friendly and attentive even with a full crowd in the building. There's also a patio area that looked like a great place to sit when the weather is nice. Overall it was a really fun atmosphere and a great place to host a fundraiser or small tournament. Definitely a Cedarburg spot with some classic bowling alley charm.

We decided to check out a local alley for my kiddo's 9th birthday. We had an hour to bowl since…read moreleagues were coming in later, which was fine. He had three young kids with us and an hour was plenty. The guy at the counter quoted us $27 and said we pay after. 30 minutes in, the lane broke. It was fixed in a couple minutes. 45 minutes in, the motor on the ball return died. The staff member tried to fix it. Ten minutes later, he turns to the other family and offered to put them on a different lane (but they were full and lanes were about to be taken up by the league), but told them the motor died. We stood there never given any info while the guy went back to go bartend. My husband went up to pay since we figured that's that, even though no one wanted to talk to us. When my husband went to pay, the guy tried to charge him almost $40, which was more than quoted, and us not even finishing one game. After my husband disagreed with the price since we were there less than expected, had a broken game we couldn't even finish, we paid half. No apology (fully understand they can't control an electronic component, but some kind of sympathy is just being human and a good business person). I was more upset that we didn't get any kind of communication that our game was cut short and there was no solution. Unfortunately, we will not be back.
