I filled my gas tank and purchased a car wash at the pump. The pump stated to receive my receipt inside the store (it has the car wash code on it). The store door was locked on both sides. No signs. Obviously only one person working and was most likely in the restroom. After 10 minutes the Shell employee emerged from the "out of order" public restroom. I suggested he put a sign on the door. He offered no apology only that a sign wouldn't work. Really poor customer service. read more

This is quite possibly the worst Shell staff in the South Bay. The car wash also is not up to parr. It washes poorly and misses most of any pollen spots on cars. It does well on just weekly dirt though. I used to come here monthly and have my car washed here. Apparently the older grey hair crew cut employee that works here gets really irate and barks at people when they wash their windshields here to get the spots off spots the car wash does not get. At any rate he'll yell at you to move car to air machine if you are washing your windshield. "The spots near pumps are only for pumping gas". Wtf. read more

I went to put in air in my tire around 5:30pm, 04 29 2025, and a local man in his wheelchair was parked next to vacuum and air. I asked him to move so I could put air in my tire and he would not budge. He told me to park on the other side which is marked for handicap. I told him that was marked handicap, and he still would not move. It is fine that he sits there, but he should have the courtesy to move when someone needs to use the air or vacuum when it is working. I will return in the morning to put air in my tire, before I drive to work. This man is at this Shell station every early evening, so the owners and management know who he is. He wears a security shirt, so maybe the owner is being kind giving a Vet a little extra money, but he still should have common courtesy to customers. read more

I needed to vacuum the front seat. I put in $1.50 in quarters required, but nothing happened. Went to the cashier. She told me to call the 800 # because the machines aren't theirs. I dunno what happened to my review of this gas station which is located off the corner of Hawthorne Bl and Lomita in Torrance. This is one of the lower priced stations in the surrounding Torrance area for Shell. They have a food mart and car wash as well. Some of the cheapest gas around. Self service is fine, and all the pumps are in working order most of the time. The car wash had a lot of issues when it first changed hands but it works reasonably now. I wouldn't take a really nice car through it, but I haven't noticed it scratching or damaging my car at all and it gets the job done for a low price. Come here for the convenience if you live nearby. It's one of few gas stations with an adjacent drive-thru car wash so you can get both done and save a lot of time. read more

I hate this Shell. I marked them "thumbs up" for reliability, because they reliably NEVER put receipt paper in their machines! So, getting a car wash? Go inside for your receipt. Need a receipt for business expenses? Go inside for your receipt. Just want a receipt?? Well, guess what?! Yeah. And this is after complaining to "management" multiple times. So, lesson NOT learned, apparently. Also, watch out for the car wash tiers.... You know how "Tier 1" is the highest option everywhere you go? Well, not here. Here "Tier 3" is what you want. This Shell station has the laziest workers. The paper towels are always empty, half the squeegees are missing, and there's never any clean soap water for the windows. The squeegees are usually sitting in dirty water or no water at all, the trash is overflowing... Come on Shell, hire some workers that work. read more

This is a great Shell Gas Station & Car Wash - conveniently located in the South Bay. The employees are nice and professional. When I'm in a hurry and only need the exterior washed, I come here. It doesn't leave scratches and it does a great job cleaning. I usually get the $10 wash and end up vacuuming the floor mats when I'm in a hurry. This is a great, reasonably priced car wash. The employees are friendly and responsive to customers. The gas is a bit pricey but it's a Shell. I'd highly recommend. read more

Let me tell you about the service I just received at this Shell Station which I frequent a lot. There's a sign posted saying they're only accepting cash right now. They currently have no Regular gas but no where is there a sign for that nor did the attendant "name unknown" because he wouldn't provide it to me tell me before I swiped my Ralphs card to receive my discount on gas. Well he gave me my money back with an attitude, but can't refund the discount. His customer service skills suck!! read more

It is a convenient location. However, the people that work at the location are not very kind or understanding. I waited in line for a car wash behind four cars only to discover that it did not print the code clearly on my paper. Call button on service box at car was entrance is missing. Went inside only to have cashier tell me oh that's the number go get back in line. I have never felt so talked down to as I did today. No customer service whatsoever. I know I should not expect a lot at a gas station, but if you are going to offer a car wash service please make sure the button on the box works so that if there's an issue I can contact the cashier without having to get out of line, and get back in behind four cars again. read more

I went to this station twice in Feb 2020 with my new credit card. The very next day after the second purchase I received a fraud alert from the bank. Someone was trying to test the card with a small purchase. The card has never been out of my possession and only used at this station. However, somehow someone was able to skim the card by paying at the pump. I usually check for devices but pumps are so busy with junk it is hard to know what is out of place. I try to shield the keypad from others in the area or hidden cameras. I tried to call the Shell station several times but the line is always busy. read more

This establishment has horrible employees who do not have any type of knowledge....I honestly don't know how they work at a gas station. We went to buy gas obviously and paid 20.00 for gas wanted to get what we paid for and it stopped working so we went in to tell them and said no it was not working and we were frustrated and had to go in again and tell them it wasn't working and she came out and was rude speaking Spanish to her co-worker saying obscene things about my family and I. Absolutely the worst I've been too. Didn't work. I'm disputing the charge. Took forever in queue and light indications guide you via green red and back up lights. Apparently I drove 'over the line' and backed up to the next car in line and it didn't reset and I had to drive out because the wash cycle wouldn't activate. read more

If you are a senior, particularly if you are a senior woman, with even minor incapacities or disabilities and you are driving alone, and you need help pumping gas, do not go here. It's a hit or miss here. If they aren't busy in the minimart, and they almost always are, and if they can leave the store unattended, and they almost always can't, then you aren't going to get any assistance with your gas. If you are none of these and you just need to understand how to use your Ralph's Gas Rewards card, or any other card, you also won't get help here. If you need help with tire inflation or their mini drive-thru Car Wash, ditto. This has happened to me on 3 different occasions. Further, they believe they are in the right by declining to help to the point of disrespect and unprofessional attitude. The attendant(s) won't disclose their name, won't look at you beyond the initial decline to help, etc. Further, try to find the franchise owner or the Shell Field representative to report these issues. Good luck! Further, even when you find Shell Customer Service, they will claim to do a thorough investigation, the results of which will discredit you across the board! Don't ever back up...it turns the ENTIRE system off...luckily the cash register gave me a refund! ALWAYS get a receipt to show. Good luck. Works well as a quick fix for cutting through some of the dirt...but doesn't replace a manual wash. read more
