While the food selections are not organically versatile, the additional inspiration of an attached food cart more than rectifies that minor blip. This club is amazing. The prices are very reasonable and the bar/security staff are friendly and professional. The rotating roster of visual and sensual artists are amazing and beautiful and very approachable. Hawethornes is an establishment that anyone can walk into and have an amazing time . The performers are professional , talented and personable also BEAUTIFUL . When you walk in you are greeted by head of Security Miguel , who is charming , fun but, also no nonsense . If you respect the performers and , don't arrive over served, you will be in his good graces and that is a wonderful place to be! If you're lucky enough you will have Randal as your bartender also known as Randy if he's not feeling fancy. For the performances : I highly suggested getting a private dance from Bunni. She is an absolute artist , watching her perform takes you in to another dimension that is so good it will become a core memory ...you can reflect on , on a bad day : Like tax season , or if you get a flat tire unexpectedly and suddenly it's just not that bad !! I honestly don't believe words can do it justice so you're just going to have to walk in and find out. Hawethorne's charm comes from the performers , staff , and regulars that fill that establishment . Right from the jump, the doorman was a nice laidback guy who checked the ID and made the place feel welcoming. I was kind of a dick to the bartender, trading a $20 bill and 6 dollar coins for bills, and he made no fuss about it. Finally, I really got into the part I was there for, the club. It wasn't super busy, which is perfect for me. It was set up for Ember's birthday (I didn't really get a chance to say hi, but the decorations were nice, and she's very talented). I did sit at the stage with the first dancer (I didn't catch a name), but after that I sat at a table, and I was joined shortly by Eden, and she is phenomenal as both a performer and a person. read more

I've not been to a strip club for at least twenty years - that's what happens when life and work and parenthood keep you busy and otherwise occupied. So I rather surprised myself when, on a vacation in Portland, I decided to stop in to this rather nondescript place on Powell. When last I visited a strip club, they were either seedy and dank or glitzy and pricey, without much in between, and the management and dancers tended to do all they could to separate the customers from their cash. Imagine my surprise to come to Hawthorne Strip and find myself charged just $4.50 for a pint of microbrew from Hub Brewing, no pressure to buy a dance or a drink if I just wanted to sit and enjoy, and eventually the pleasure of spending over an hour conversing with a young woman who was not only adorable but also intelligent, thoughtful, and had plenty of interesting things to chat about. (Lovely to meet you, Cora - great smile and great mind you've got there!) Yes, I ultimately bought a dance or two (which was occupied mostly with laughter and sweet silliness), but I wouldn't have had to. Fact is, I could have sat ringside and enjoyed the view for a series of two buck tips and I sense that no one would have minded very much. Should you have an interest in enjoying the female form, a desire to view a virtual art gallery of unique tattoos, or just enjoy a beer in the company of interesting women, I suggest a visit to Hawthorn Strip. Be polite, be respectful, treat the people there as the intelligent human beings that they are, and I bet you'll leave with both the memory of beautiful bodies and the sweet reminder that true beauty very much comes from within. read more

I went into this place the other week and there was a stripper named Kat there (skinny white girl with natural brown hair) who was obviously out of her mind on something. She rambled on and on about how much she hated working there, hated the other girls who work there, hated her boss, hated the staff. Then she stole a $50 my buddy had sitting with his singles. Had a stripper get desperate after a lap dance and didn't believe I'd pay her. When I got to the ATM she tried to snatch the money out of my hand. That's a major NO-NO!!! Later, I went back and thought I was having a good time, and the bartender took sides with her, and didn't even consider the fact she tried to snatch money from me at the ATM. While the place, the vibe, and of course, the girls, are fresh in mind, let me start this review. Eden (I think), Emma and Fatima are the loveliest and friendliest dancers you could ask for! Fatima knew the man I was there with, so the conversation was super fun and flirty. I know Emma it turns out, she's a super cutie pie, but I would never have imagined how lovely she would be to watch dance.. I guess it's just not the first thing I think of... what would they look like on a pole? Not even the guys... Not even the acrobats.. ok maybe the acrobats. Red-headed Eden is also quite sweet and has an awesome vintage vibe going on. My first time here, apparently, it used to be somewhere else... On Hawthorne, I'm guessing. I had never been there either, sad to say. But this place was just fine. Comfortable. Decent drinks. Not too big or too small. Plenty of parking.Private rooms and stuff. So - all in all, this place is pretty cool and the girls are even cooler. I will return! PS - got my first lap dance... yup. Loved it. Check that one off the list. Went in for my first time today after work, the bartender is a badass! She was very polite and would converse and acknowledge you. Had a excellent experience with jessie the dancer as well, was her first day at the strip. She was bar none! Sweet, she held conversation sincerely meanwhile staying warm and welcoming... she wasn't pushy like most dancers that expect something because they are beautiful. One of two of my favorite strip clubs to frequent 8pm to close on a Friday and Saturday night. Great private dances if your willing to tip well. I always bring at least $200 or $300 dollars so I can get two lap dances from two different dancers. The girls here for the most part are always friendly and respectful if you do the same and tip what they deserve. I love some of these girls so much I tip them $100 or $150 cause they give me a very intimate lap dance and talk dirty to me and get real close to me. I always make sure I am clean and smelly great before so the girl gets nice and close to me. Sometimes I spend $500 in one night at this place cause the lap dances are so good!! I was a fan of the old Hawthorne Strip when it was actually on Hawthorne. When I heard that it had moved, I had to check the new venue out. It's definitely a very different vibe. It has parking, for one thing, which wasn't necessary for the old place but is a pro for this one - not very walkable. Inside, it's much larger - it can even fit a pool table. There's a sizable bar and plenty of seating. The bartender was very friendly. There's a food menu now, but the food isn't worth it. The drinks are still solid. The dancer's stage is still tiny and tucked away in a corner, but now it seems almost like an afterthought, rather than the main draw. There were fewer patrons crowding the rack than I remembered at the old place - in fact, the whole place was almost empty (it was near 1 AM, but it was a Saturday). I hope that Hawthorne Strip grows into its new home and does well. I'll check in on it the next time I'm in Portland. read more

Consider the three stars as the averaging out of 5 stars for the dancers and 1 star for the management and the tightwad customers. The few nights I've been there the women were barely making bus fare from the few guys at the rack. The guys watching from the rest of the room threw down zip. Pitiful. As is the guy cueing the music and mumbling into the mic. The management at HS should check out Devils Point for lessons in how to support their dancers. The bouncer at the door spells out the ground rules, including encouraging you to support the dancers by throwing down a minimum $1 per dance, whether you're at the rack or not and the dj does the same. Everyone has a great time and the dancers end up being well compensated for the hard work they do. read more

This place IS small with a bar and a stage. The girls are accessible and easy going. The bar tender was occupied with talking to the girls that worked there but was friendly when she noticed that you needed a refill. The patrons were... okay. Not my favorite place to go for adult entertainment in PDX. read more
