Hit two clubs yesterday: sassy's which had a nice selection of music, like Blondie, played at a lower sound level than most, and great smashburgers. Hit Union Jack that evening and found my new Portland home. 2 stages, with the 2nd stage opening later (10ish) and very friendly and talented dancers. Highly suggest Valerie for a 3 or 6 song private dance. Wife and I have hit 9 clubs from New Orleans to California and others along the coast on this road trip. Valerie blew all my other private dancers away, and she had stiff competition. Nothing obscene or inappropriate (for a strip club), just outstanding attention and polite conversation while she performed. Made me feel special, which is, after all, why we go. Thanks Valerie! Layout was good for hanging out solo or with larger groups 8+ without feeling too disconnected. Lighting was consistent and club-like throughout. If you are looking for a strip club that doesn't feel like the strip clubs you see on tv, I would say mosey on over here. The vibe is a lot more chill, no high pressure sales tactics. This was my fiancée's first time at a strip club. She was nervously telling EVERYBODY WHO WOULD LISTEN that it was her first time. Everyone really tried to make it fun and memorable for her. He rolled his eyes when we asked for $200 in ones. We then sat down at a table and continued to throw more money from the table than the people sitting at the stage. another bartender who was talking on her cellphone, proceeded to come up and wave us off from the table, laughing and telling us we needed to buy the table (assuming we couldn't afford it). The dancer on stage literally apologized when we went to leave. As we left we asked the bouncer what the bartenders problem was, and the bartender continued to point and laugh at us as we left. Came to Portland for the weekend to celebrate a friend's birthday and stopped here both nights that we went out. Of the 5 strip clubs our group visited, Union Jack's was the best and Angel is the main reason it was worth the trip. The venue itself featured the most privacy out of the other clubs we visited with a handful of private rooms for dances, as well as a VIP room. Our first night, the venue was populated but not crowded and there was a good balance of fun going on between the two stages and the girls on standby who mingled with the crowd. The birthday girl and I watched a few dancers before Angel danced at the main stage, but we quickly agreed that she was the best dancer we had seen all night, including at the 3 clubs we stopped at prior. Angel has "bad bitch" aura in spades and the assets to match, but was also very friendly. I got some private dances from her after she approached me but realized I kind of stole her away from the birthday girl (sorry, not sorry). We came back the next night in hopes of getting the birthday girl some time with Angel, though I'll admit I was probably the driving force behind wanting to see Angel again. It was Easter Sunday, so prospects didn't seem great but the bartenders and dancers were friendly and made conversation with our group. The club was somewhat empty when we showed up around 12:30 AM, but things picked up and we proceeded to have another great night, partly due to a French Bulldog puppy that someone had brought to pet sit. Angel was there and was happy to oblige myself and the birthday girl to some more dances and we left with smiles on our faces. This is now my favorite place in Portland and somewhere I hope to visit again when looking for fun with friends. Support the community and tip your dancers/bartenders. read more

No surprise at the three and a half Stars that this club has. They were kind enough to not charge us the $4 cover charge, nonetheless for two shots of whiskey it was $24. I was told by the security guard while I was trying to reply to my daughter's message stating that she had broken up with her boyfriend of one year, that no cell phone use was allowed in the club, even though the dancer was not on stage. I have been to far better and more fun clubs. Trust me, Portland has no shortage of strip clubs and this one is nothing special. They should really work on their customer service. read more

Went to Portland for a Concert the snow&ice froze Portland over. So pretty much everything was closed except for a few places one being Union Jacks club. I went, grabbed a beer was hoping to get a dance or see the ladies the three there were already with customers and it didn't seem like I was going to get any entertainment. I asked about their menu for food the bartender kindly told me they have an air fryer so do I. So maybe build out a nice little kitchen and hire a cook your girls will thank you as well. This is a pretty rad strip club and we all know it, but what caused me to write the review is the bouncer (working on a Sunday eve). I came in with a group, one of the girls I was with is smoking hot and super nice. I was by her side the whole time and making sure she was having a good time. I went outside to the back patio for a minute and the bouncer actually came back to let me know that some guy was swooping in on my friend and she looked super uncomfortable. I came back and saved the day and got her away from that situation. My friend said she felt a bit trapped there. This guy had a watchful eye over the whole place, and if he had a customers best interests in mind, I can only imagine how he helps out the girls and staff there! I once went into devil's point alone, and there was this creepy old guy who would NOT leave me alone! There was literally just me and that guy in there at that time, and I was even giving looks at the bartender hoping he would encourage the guy to go away since I couldn't get him to go away on own, but when I talked to him about it he said he didn't even notice. I never went back because of that. The girls were hot and super nice, I really don't know how often I'll go there because I'm more of a dive bar person, but thank you kind strip club bouncer!! As much as I love strip clubs, this was one of the most forgettable experiences I have ever had. I came into this club one late Sunday afternoon last summer just to check it out since I've heard so much about it. First off, the inside is very quaint and I can't help feeling grateful that walking space is still possible. Second, there is nothing even remotely British themed about this place (a small Union Jack flag would help)! Even with its small size, I was unable to find either its back patio or second stage. The one stage I did see was crowded by several dudes as a single dancer performed. The barmaid was helpful but surprised me with a hidden policy of having to hand over the bag I was carrying during my visit. While I don't have a problem with this in of itself (security is important), I would have greatly appreciated it if this policy was mentioned on UJ's long list of rules that are presented at the entrance for all to read. The best thing about UJ's was that I found the restroom to be really nice and pristine clean. I am mean we are talking about a strip club bathroom that has a high-quality cleanliness standard. It's not what I would have expected! As much as I would like to give this club a higher rating, the fact that my first experience here was barely memorable leaves me quite turned off. read more

Tried this club for first time on October 3, 2019. I'll probably go back but Casa Diablo is still my fave club in Portland. I spent time @ the stage and out in smoking area where I could talk and cuddle with dancers one on one. I met and enjoyed watching some great dancers: Lexi, smokin' hot with long red hair and firm booty; Zara, a beautiful brunette with awesome body, was great fun to cuddle and talk with; Panther is sexy with nice breasts, wonderful tattoos, and a great attitude for talking with her; Simone, caught my eye with her long legs and nice breasts; and Fawn has great moves and nice nipple piercings. Stages are OK but limit the opportunities for dancers to come over the rail and interact directly with customers. Casa Diablo is def better in that respect. I give the dancers 4 stars and the club itself 3 stars Very surprised to pay a $5. cover on a Thursday night but there didn't seem to be a requirement to buy a drink in the club. read more

STEPH JUDGEMENT: Cool, laid-back strip club with mercifully natural-looking dancers. I thought this was just a regular bar at first but after reading the reviews I realized it was a strip club. My longtime friend Mike Q had given it good marks and it was right across from our hotel so I thought it'd be fun to get a drink here to get the evening started. I liked its swinging 60s signage and decor, and it didn't seem like it'd be all sleazy and gross so I was game. There was a cover to enter, but I think it was only like a buck or two. It's a pretty small place, with a main stage and a smaller platform with a pole near the entrance. Since it was really early there were only a few people in the place--mostly couples just enjoying their drinks at the bar. The bf and I became one of those couples. There was a succession of about 3 dancers that went on the main stage during our time there and they were all young and pretty in a normal-looking way--i.e., no huge fake boobs, fake tans or giant hair I always think of when I think of strippers (obviously my impressions were formed during the Motley Crue "Girls Girls Girls" era, lol). It was very chill; no one accosting us with lap dances and whatnot--we had a nice time. While strip clubs generally ain't my thang, this is one place I wouldn't mind returning to, should the occasion arise. read more

Uh oh, it's turning into one of those nights. Hilary B is on fire, and the horns are coming out. My wallet, like a trick knee with a rainstorm on the horizon, is beginning to ache. I can sense the inevitable. We're headed to the nudie bars... Somehow I feel like I've been here before... But I digress. Portland is like no other when it comes to the nudie bars. Oregon has some of the most awesome free-speech laws in the nation, and as a result, the adult entertainment in this state (and especially in Portland) is better than even most places in Vegas. The bars are full-alcohol, the girls get totally naked, and the talent (and I mean honest-to-goodness pole dancing talent) abounds. The girls are sassy and fun, and since I only really ever go to these places with my wife (or possibly with a bunch of Yelpers), I never get treated like "just another sleazy dude patron." Union Jacks is no exception to the rule that Portland has great strip clubs. is close enough in to downtown and dead-center in the East-Burnside barmuda triangle, so it attracts a fairly straight-up amateur crowd, for the most part. Not your standard creepy-old-man clientele, but a young crowd, often in groups comprised of both guys and girls. The girls on stage are more talented (meaning pole-dancing, core-strength style talent) than your average dancer (on par with Sassy's). The two-story tall pole on the main stage allows for some fun tricks. Dual racks provide for a diversity in entertainment. The place itself is on the smaller side. The mirrored walls make it look bigger, but besides a few booths, a couple of tables, the racks, and the private dance and VIP areas, there's not much room to move up in the joint. Ordering a drink can be fairly trying on a busy night. The decor is black vinyl booths, mirrors and rope lights. It's cleaner than your average joint, and now that it's non-smoking, you can actually see across the room. The main downside is the $5 cover. I can see why they charge it, though. Despite the cover, the place was SLAMMED at prime time last time I was in. I guess the rule is that if you can get away with it, why not? But when I'm paying strip-club prices and blowing a wad full of bills, I don't feel like the $5 cover is necessary. Not a bad spot, and it would definitely be on my standard circuit were it not for the $5 cover. That's just not my style. Back to my digression: So of course it ended up being another one of those nights. The role reversal: I sit at the bar catching up with an old friend who is in from out of town over some over-priced drinks, while the ladies head over to the rack with a stack of our $1's to cheer on the talented ladies on stage. I spent way too much money, but spent pretty much the whole time not staring at naked ladies. Hmmm... At least Hilary paid the cover this time. read more

One of their fine *chuckle* female strippers decided to register an account today and message me to tell me to go suck a d@!k. I know there aren't many new reviews, but most of the ones you see are correct - they are extremely pushy and will pressure for tips like crazy. This establishment and its strippers could learn a lesson or two from other strip clubs around town. I'm giving this club one star because I'm appalled at how they treat their dancers. My friend danced here one night, and one of the rowdy patrons HIT her. She tried to report it to the bouncer, who refused to kick the patron out. The bartender just said "There's nothing I can do!" Who does that?! So ladies, for your safety, I don't recommend dancing here. Go somewhere where the club will actually protect you if a patron gets violent with you. And for customers, go patronize another business because this one obviously doesn't think that its dancers are people whose lives are worth looking at for. read more

Note to self and others: Union Jacks is not a flag shoppe. They DO have a very tall pole, though, so coupled with the establishment's name, I can see why British expats could be confused. Anyway, this was another club highly recommended to our bachelor party group during our Portland visit, and I must say, it definitely lived up to the billing. Union Jacks feels exactly like the kind of dive bar I'd frequent, except with a couple of stages worth of naked girls. If I lived in Portland, this probably WOULD be the bar I'd frequent. Jacks attracts a more diverse crowd - younger, with a higher female-to-male ratio - than most strip clubs, so it feels more casual, more like a place to just hang out and drink while being entertained by their talented dancers. Speaking of which, the girls working here really do earn the designation of "dancers" as opposed to just "strippers." Whereas most clubs have girls that seemingly just go through the motions, the girls at Union Jacks embody more of a punk/rock n' roll aesthetic and attitude: equal parts spunky, feisty, and sexy. And pretty damn handy on the pole. Ok, maybe handy is a loaded word... let's say talented instead. Yes, these gals will climb, spin around, contort on the pole and generally put on an acrobatic show, all while getting full on nekkid. I guess when you're starting at half-naked, there's not much more to go, but still. One of them even stripped while performing a hula hoop routine. (Watch out if you're in the front row, you might get whacked in the head if you lean in too close.) If you're familiar with Cirque Berzerk from LA (think: a goth cousin to Cirque du Soleil) then imagine that, but, without clothes. Those Chinese acrobats at the county fair are going to seem pretty mundane by comparison, no matter how many plates (or people) they stack on their heads. read more

I know I'm in the minority. But Union Jack's? Do not want. I know better than to go to a strip club at 11:30 on a Saturday night, but everyone seemed so keen on it after our Galaxy karaoke adventure, so off we went. Now, I've been to countless strip clubs over the years and I love the whole Suicide Girls-esque thing the girls have going on here. So what was the problem? That's just it, I don't know. I felt unwelcome and uncomfortable. Maybe it was the lighting. Maybe it was the fact that there was no where to sit. Ninety percent of the people in there were clearly not there to watch the girls dance. Most of them never even looked at the stage except for an occasional glance to see who was up there. One guy who had his back to the table was at least tossing some money up every now and then, but come on! I have to write a review for Union Jack's because it's one of the best strip clubs on the West Coast. There is no strip club in SF that compares. Union Jack's has a variety of shapes and sizes of women. They also have women with tattoos and unusual hair styles. They have both diversity of appearance and incredible dancing skill. Well, I used to give my boyfriend serious shit when he would drive down to Portland to skate and he'd make a pit stop at the Union Jack's. It used to piss me off pretty bad. He kept on telling me that it wasn't that kind of strip club, bla, bla, bla. And I used to be a waitress at Sugars, so I had a pretty good idea on how sleazy these joints could be. Anyway, so I took a little road trip to Portland a couple weeks ago and decided to check this place out. I was with a few of my friends and we were all a little curious. After all, the strip clubs in Seattle suck...they don't serve food, they don't serve alcohol, etc. Upon arrival I was smitten! It was so divey and dingy and packed with both men and women. Boyfriends with their girlfriends. Girlfriends with their girlfriends. It was sooo much fun. The drinks were cheap and they had some snacks on the menu that weren't too shabby either. My favorite part about this place was the strippers! They were so fun to watch because they were very talented and skilled. Most strippers I've seen (and I've seen a lot) are lame. They go on stage and shake their ass, rub their tits...the end. Nothing exciting. But these girls were awesome. They did the most amazing pole tricks and they really looked like they enjoyed working there. Most strippers tend to be a little aggressive and pester customers for dances, but they just walked around and waited for people to come up to them for a dance. I recently patronized Union Jack's and was delighted by the ample seating, excellent bouncers, strong drinks and most important: yummy ass talent. We went around 10 PM on a Sunday night, which might be the reason behind it not being overly crowded, but I was pleased and will definitely go back. I stumbled upon a few douche factories, but they were briskly removed from my path by the attentive bouncers, who could obviously see that all I was trying to do was enjoy the view. Cool. A whole lot less scuzzier than most strip clubs I've been to. The girls are all cute - most of them are punk rawk and hipsters girls covered in tattoos. All very good dancers and can do amazing things with the pole! The crowd is pretty good too. Definitely a more middle class kind of joint, people seem to be pretty respectful. There's a porch outback for the smokers. They make a good margarita - frozen or on the rocks. I appreciate that they have cider too for those of us that don't drink beer. I like the seating - you don't have to sit right up to the stripper area - in fact you can easily sit in the corner and be removed from a lot of it. The only issue is with the lack of security. I was dissapointed to see that there is really only one bouncer - and he is in charge of the door. There's no one else to really watch and protect the dancers or the crowd. There was one guy in the crowd who was wasted and very obnoxious about it. We complained to the bouncer a few times but he never got kicked out or removed. That's annoying. He wasn't kicked out until he had physically threatened my friend that's a girl. He should have been removed from the picture a long time ago - esp because he was passed out most of the time. read more
